00:00Welcome to the Tuning Blog Video, where we introduce you to the new SmartOne.
00:11The SmartOne marks a new direction for the brand.
00:15No more minicars. Welcome to the world of SUVs.
00:20With an impressive length of 4.27 meters, this electric car is the largest vehicle Smart has ever built.
00:26About the size of a mini Countryman.
00:32But it's not just the size and the name that are new, the SmartHome one also has a lot to offer in terms of range and performance.
00:40The design of the SmartOne is quite different from previous models.
00:46The sharp headlights and modern radiator grille give it a dynamic look that is a far cry from the rather plain lines of the Vortru and Vorever.
00:53Its aerodynamic shape allows it to glide efficiently through the air, which has a positive effect on the range between charges.
01:05At the rear, the elegant design features LED taillights connected by a light strip running across the entire width.
01:11The entire vehicle has a sleek and modern look, with the exterior mirrors being the only protruding elements.
01:20The SmartMob one is priced between €35,000 and €45,000, depending on the model.
01:27In terms of insurance costs, it is in the middle range and is neither particularly cheap nor particularly expensive.
01:33In terms of liability insurance, the SUV is classified in Type Class 15, which results in relatively low insurance premiums.
01:41Partial Comprehensive Insurance Type Class 21 and Fully Comprehensive Insurance Type Class 20 are average.
01:47However, anyone opting for the more powerful Brabus model should note that not only does the vehicle price increase, but the insurance costs are also higher.
01:58In terms of liability insurance, the SmartMob one jumps from Type Class 15 to 19.
02:03In Partial Comprehensive Insurance, the Type Class increases slightly from 21 to 22.
02:09It becomes more expensive in fully comprehensive insurance.
02:12Instead of the medium type Class 20, the rather high type Class 25 applies here.
02:20The Smart Number One is equipped with a 150kW DC fast charger that can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in around 30 minutes.
02:31With a 22kW AC charger, the battery can be fully charged in about 3 hours.
02:36However, charging takes significantly longer at a normal power outlet or a small wall box.
02:44In practice, the Smart Number One even briefly exceeds the specified charging capacity of 150kW and reaches peak values of 155kW.
02:54However, the charging curve shows that the charging capacity is initially significantly reduced when the battery level is very low.
03:03At 0% battery level, charging starts at 20kW, then increases to 60kW and reaches the maximum flow rate at 7%.
03:12However, the Smart Number One can only maintain this for a short time.
03:17Even well below 80%, the charging capacity first drops to 120kW and finally to 60kW.
03:26With a fully charged 66kW battery, the Smart Number One in the Pro Plus version has a specified range of 410km.
03:36The premium model even manages up to 440km.
03:40The powerful Brabus derivative has to make compromises here and achieves a range of up to 400km.
03:47In practice, however, the real range of the Smart Hammer One is lower.
03:54When driving mainly on the motorway, where electric cars lose range more quickly due to the high speeds and increased energy requirements,
04:02the Smart More One reaches around 280km.
04:07The average consumption is 21.9kWh per 100km.
04:11The Smart More One Pro Plus and premium models are equipped with an engine that drives the rear wheels.
04:21With an output of 272hp and a torque of 343Nm, the electric SUV reaches a top speed of 180km per hour.
04:31This makes it well-equipped for both city driving and occasional motorway driving.
04:40However, sporty drivers may find that the Smart More One lacks the typical punch when sprinting from a standing start compared to other electric cars.
04:47With an acceleration from 0 to 100km per hour in 6.7 seconds in the premium version, it is fast, but not overly sporty.
04:58The new Brabus model, which is equipped with a more powerful twin engine, provides more power.
05:08With a total output of 428hp and all-wheel drive, it accelerates the compact SUV from 0 to 100km per hour in just 3.9 seconds.
05:18However, the range has to be compromised here and the purchase price is also significantly higher.
05:27The interior of the Smart Number One impresses with an airy feeling of space,
05:31which is further enhanced by the large panoramic glass roof and the generous window areas.
05:37The flexible trunk is particularly worth mentioning.
05:40The rear seat can be moved, a real highlight in this vehicle class and allows a load volume of between 273 and 411 L.
05:51There is also a small storage area in the front, the so-called frunk, which holds 15 L.
05:58The seats in the rear can be split in a ratio of 60 by 40 and pushed forward by up to 13 cm,
06:04depending on whether more luggage space or legroom is required.
06:07Even tall people have enough room for their knees and head in the back seat.
06:14The Smart One also shows practicality in terms of its storage concept.
06:19Large compartments in the doors, a spacious compartment under the center console
06:23and well-designed smaller compartments in the center console offer plenty of storage space.
06:29There is a compartment for a smartphone in the front, optionally with an induction charger.
06:33Behind it are cup holders and another compartment with a card holder for the charging card under the armrest.
06:41All of these compartments can be closed to maintain the tidy appearance of the interior.
06:48The interior is strongly based on the design of the concept vehicle presented in 2021.
06:53A steering wheel with a flat base, a small driver display behind it and a floating center console with metal trim give the interior a modern look.
07:02The striking ambient lighting can be individually adjusted and can be matched to the driving mode or configured by the user.
07:13You can even select separate colors for different areas and, if you like, have the colors change automatically every two minutes.
07:20At the top of the dashboard is a large touchscreen that controls most of the vehicle's functions, including the air conditioning.
07:32Many functions can also be operated via voice commands, which makes it easier to use while driving.
07:37At the market launch of the Smart One Series, there is a launch edition, which is equipped with a special white gold paint finish, unique 19-inch alloy wheels and matrix LED headlights.
07:52A total of four equipment lines are available, Pro Plus, Premium, Launch Edition and Brabus.
07:58The Brabus version is characterized by a redesigned front bumper and a modified bonnet with two narrow air vents.
08:08There are also new alloy wheels and two-tone paint finishes, including red brake calipers in the Smart Look.
08:15The interior features red accents and the Brabus logo is embedded in the headrests.
08:22In the safety rating, the Smart One received five stars, thus achieving the best possible result.
08:28In terms of protection for adult occupants, the SUV performed excellently with 96% of the total points.
08:35It also achieved a very high value for child protection with 88%.
08:39There were slight deductions, as ISOFIX and ISSI are only available in the front passenger seat and on the outer seats in the rear.
08:50The safety assistance systems were rated at 88%.
08:53Occupant status monitoring and lane assist received full marks.
08:59The emergency braking system, which detects other vehicles, received slight deductions.
09:04In terms of protecting other road users such as pedestrians, the Smart Home One achieved a result of 71%.
09:10Here, points were deducted primarily for pedestrian impact protection.
09:15When purchasing a Smart More One, customers receive the integrated service package.
09:21This includes an extension of the two-year manufacturer's warranty by an additional year to a total of three years with no mileage limit.
09:31Provided that the specified inspection and maintenance intervals are adhered to and the work is carried out by authorized smart service partners.
09:38The package also includes the first inspection and maintenance by an authorized smart sales partner.
09:48Brake fluids, activated carbon filters and the 12-volt battery are replaced in the first 36 months or up to a total mileage of 45,000 kilometers.
09:56In addition, all wear parts are covered, provided that they are worn out due to operational stress and impair the operational or road safety of the vehicle.
10:08The third component of the package is roadside assistance.
10:16This initially applies until the first specified inspection and is automatically extended until the next inspection interval and for a maximum period of eight years or up to a total mileage of 160,000 kilometers.
10:32The prerequisite here is that the maintenance is carried out at the specified time and by an authorized smart service partner.
10:38We hope that this has given you a comprehensive overview of the new smartome one.
