00:27This bike stands out due to its impressive weight of 239 kg, a value that is close to the weight of a BMW R1300GS.
00:39It is powered by an electric motor, as a standard for Zero motorcycles.
00:44This model corresponds to a 125cc machine with a rated output of 11 kW, which is around 15 hp.
00:51This means that anyone with an A1 driving license or a BH96 extension can ride the Zero DS.
01:00The peak performance is even higher, which, in combination with the technology of an electric motor, provides some surprises.
01:10Zero specifies a top speed of 139 km per hour for this bike, which is quite impressive compared to a classic 125.
01:17Although the bike is significantly more expensive than other 125 models on the German market, at whopping 8,400 euros it offers the advantage of being almost silent.
01:28For this price, you can easily get three top models in the 125 class, such as the Honda CB-125R, Yamaha Montana 125 and the Duke 125.
01:41But Zero is focusing on the progress and riding pleasure of quiet electric mobility here, and that has its value.
01:47In terms of range, the Zero DS is flexible.
01:51Depending on your riding style, you can cover a considerable distance.
01:55The bike has five riding modes, Standard, Regan, Eco, Sport and Canyon.
02:00The Canyon mode is particularly interesting, which allows you to extend the range through recuperation when braking in a serpentine.
02:10This can even result in you coming back with more remaining range than you had when you started, as energy is constantly being recovered in Canyon mode.
02:17However, if you open the throttle all the way on the motorway, the range can quickly drop rapidly.
02:26This requires a certain amount of composure when dealing with the display, as it varies greatly.
02:33Zero states the maximum range as around 250 km.
02:36In mixed mode, it is closer to 170 km, while on country roads, more than 170 km are possible at a constant speed.
02:48The riding experience is unique.
02:51Since the bike is completely silent, you can hardly hear anything but the wind on your helmet, which, combined with the belt drive, feels almost eerie.
03:00The adjustable windshield can be adjusted without gloves, which provides pleasant comfort when there is a wind in your face.
03:07The Zero DS is also a real pleasure in city traffic, as there is no need to constantly shift gears and engage the clutch.
03:14All you have to do here is operate the throttle.
03:17And the bike moves through traffic as if by magic.
03:21An additional highlight is the maneuvering mode, which makes maneuvering in Thai parking spaces easier.
03:27Up to 5 hours of travel are possible in forward or reverse gear, which is particularly practical when parking.
03:33To charge the Zero DS, it can either be connected to a normal household power outlet, which takes about 4.5 hours, or to a fast charger, which charges the battery in 1.5 hours.
03:46Optionally, an additional battery can be installed, which significantly shortens the charging time.

03:56In addition to the temperature and riding mode, it also shows the remaining range and current consumption.
04:01The bike comes with anti-lock braking system and traction control as standard, and the feeling of sitting on this large motorcycle is definitely something special.
04:11You can choose between different versions, including the more powerful DSR version.
04:19The 11kW model is ideal for beginners and drivers with a B196 driving license and can be insured at a reasonable price.
04:28Nevertheless, it has a peak output of 45hp, so you really get two motorcycles in one.
04:33A smooth A1 bike and a real electric monster.
04:38In terms of price, the Zero DS is in the upper segment at €8,400.
04:45However, if you want to be prepared for the future and value modern mobility, the Zero DS is an excellent choice.
04:53It offers riding fun, impresses with impressive acceleration from a standstill and enables a relaxed and quiet riding experience.
