The mother of autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin has been found guilty of neglecting her son in a manner likely to cause physical harm.

Petaling Jaya Sessions Court Judge Dr Syahliza Warnoh delivered the verdict on Friday (Oct 31) morning, stating the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt.

Ismanira Abdul Manaf, 30, now faces sentencing for the incident that occurred two years ago.

00:25submissions and found that the defense had failed to raise any reasonable doubt. Proceedings were
00:30temporarily adjourned following an application by the defense to prepare mitigation submissions
00:36seeking a reduced sentence. On July 21, Judge Shializa ordered Ismaneera to enter her defense
00:44after ruling that the prosecution had successfully established a prima facie case against her.
00:50Her husband, 30-year-old Zayim Ikhwan Zahari, was, however, acquitted and discharged of the same charge.
