00:05for neglecting her autistic six-year-old son.
00:08Lawyer Haresh Mahadevan confirmed that a notice of appeal was filed at the Shah Alam High Court on Monday
00:14on behalf of 30-year-old Ismaneera Abdul-Manaf.
00:18She is appealing both her conviction and the sentence handed down by Petaling Jaya Sessions Court judge
00:23Dr. Shializa Warno on October 31st.
00:27The court had ruled that the defense failed to raise reasonable doubt,
00:31and her sentence took effect immediately after a suspension was denied.
00:36Ismaneera's husband, 30-year-old Zayim Ikhwan Zahari, who faced the same charge, was acquitted.
00:42She was also ordered to perform 120 hours of community service after serving her sentence.
00:50The couple was accused of neglecting Zain near Block R, Edaman Apartments, Damansara Damai,
00:56between December 5th and 6th, 2023, when the boy was found dead near a stream after being reported missing.
