The mother of autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin has been ordered by the Sessions Court in Petaling Jaya to enter her defence.

Sessions Court judge Dr Syahliza Warnoh made the order on Ismanira Abdul Manaf on Monday (July 21) after a maximum evaluation of the evidence and exhibits in the case.

00:00The mother of six-year-old autistic child, Zayn Ryan Abdul-Matin, has been ordered by the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court to enter her defence.
00:11Judge Dr. Syahliza Warno made the order on Ismaneera Abdul-Manaf on Monday after a maximum evaluation of the evidence and exhibits in the case.
00:21However, Ismaneera's co-accused and husband, Zaim Ikhwan Zahari, was acquitted of the charge.
00:30And the court has been arrested at 2 p.m. at 2 p.m. this time.

00:47On April 24th, the prosecution closed the case after calling 28 prosecution witnesses throughout the 20-day trial, which began on February 4th.
00:57Zayn Ryan was reported missing on December 5th, 2023, and his body was found the next day in a stream near his house.
01:07His parents, Zaim Ikhwan and Ismaneera, both aged 30, were charged with neglecting the boy in a manner likely to cause physical harm in the vicinity of Block R at the Edaman apartment in Damansara Damai up to the nearby river area between noon on December 5th and 9.55 p.m. on December 6th, 2023.
01:29They were charged under Section 31, subsection 1A of the Child Act.
01:352001 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment or a fine of 50,000 ringgit or both if convicted.
