00:00Let's begin with the World Series. Last night, the Toronto Blue Jays got an all-time performance
00:04from a young pitcher named Trey Savage, who struck out 12 batters over seven innings.
00:09And yes, folks, the Toronto Blue Jays go into Los Angeles and pick up two wins.
00:14They have a 3-2 series lead in the fall classic. And Saturday night, excuse me, Friday night,
00:20Halloween night, they can wrap it all up with a victory. Game seven would be on Saturday.
00:25The Dodgers will turn to Yoshinobu Yamamoto. But the story last night, as I mentioned,
00:29was he savage? How about this? A young player who was in single A ball earlier in the year
00:34rises to the occasion in the postseason, striking out 12. Early in the game, he got home runs from
00:39Davis Schneider and, yes, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. But the bottom line is when you get seven innings
00:45of 12 strikeout, one run ball, you're going to win in the World Series. And John Schneider
00:50tipped his cap to the young fellow. He was pretty good.
00:59Historic stuff, you know what I mean? When you talk about that stage and his numbers.
01:06Getting ahead of a lot of hitters, tons of swing and miss, you know, it's it's one thing
01:10to be in the zone and it's another thing to be in the zone and get some swing and miss.
01:16So slider and split were electric. You know, I said it before the game.
01:20It's it's a different picture when he has his stuff. You know, game one didn't have a feel
01:26for a split. So I'm kind of blown away at what he did.
01:32Right now, the Dodgers are blown away with what he did as well. He made Shohei Ohtani look foolish
01:36at the plate. Dave Roberts, manager of the Dodgers, was looking for all the smoke going
01:41into the World Series. He got it and then some and now has to go back to Toronto down
01:45and the possibility of being eliminated tomorrow. Yeah. You know, you know, you look at giving up
01:51bases, you know, what it changes kind of the lineup as far as who comes up and it affects the
02:00game going forward. And things certainly get magnified in games like this and especially when
02:07you're not swinging the bats. And so I thought tonight Blake pitched a heck of a ball game.
02:13But yeah, you know, giving up bases and not converting outs when you have an opportunity
02:18converts out convert outs that came back to bite us tonight.
02:24Underdogs have been biting heavily on these primetime games. Thursday night,
02:28we've got another home dog. It's the Miami Dolphins getting seven and a half points against
02:32the Baltimore Ravens. It's significant because it is the return of Lamar Jackson who missed a month
02:38of football. Jackson also played football in high school in South Florida. So this is a homecoming
02:43of sorts, total of 50 and a half in this game, Ravens and Dolphins on Thursday night football.
02:48Meanwhile, this weekend, the Atlanta Falcons look like they will have Michael Penix Jr.
02:52back for their game against the New England Patriots. Raheem Morris gave an update on the
02:58Penix's left knee, essentially saying that based on the practice, it will determine if he can go on
03:04Sunday. Meetings, he'll go out there today and do walkthrough. We'll get a chance to get a feel
03:08what he can do in practice or if he can do anything. But obviously, we'll get to that right
03:12after this and find out what he's doing and how he can do it and how he feels and all that type of
03:15stuff. Obviously, he feels better than he did last week. Obviously, he feels better than he did
03:20every single day with it being a bone bruise. That stuff gets better every day. So I feel really good
03:23about him. Starting to feel like a lost season for the Washington Commanders. They can't seem to keep
03:29their quarterback and wide receivers on the field at the same time. Good news is Jaden Daniels will be
03:35back for the Commanders. The bad news is yesterday, Dan Quinn delivered the news that we did not
03:41expect, which is Terry McLaurin is going to miss this week's game. So I'll give you a couple updates
03:47on the injury side of things. So let's start just on the top. Terry re-injured his quad. And so he'll
03:54be out this Sunday night. We'll re-evaluate it next week to see where it goes. Bum for him, for us,
04:01just tough where it goes. But we'll see what the next week looks like. And then for LT and Matt
04:09Gay, we'll hold both of them today. And we'll give them every chance. And I think I'll have a
04:14really good sense, Nicky, by Friday on both. But we'll give them every shot to go do that.
04:21Who starts for the Bengals against the Bears at quarterback? Now that is a question.
04:25Joe Flacco missed practice on Wednesday. He most certainly will have to practice at some point this
04:30week to play against the Bears. Zach Taylor, head coach, gave his injury update going into the
04:35weekend. We'll see what we can potentially get out of him tomorrow. So we'll just work through the
04:40week. I think right now it's probably a 50-50 on what I'll end up on Sunday. Does he need the reps
04:47at all? I mean, you've seen what he's done. Came in, played on a Thursday, you know, after three days
04:51of practice. So I think if anybody in this league can get by with minimal reps right now, it's him.
04:58So if he didn't practice really at all, if physically he could go Sunday, he would still
05:02be. Yeah, and we've got a plan in place to see what we can do physically during the week. So he
05:06won't be today. He won't be out there during the open portion of things. He'll come out after that.
05:11But we got a plan in place to see where he's at as the week goes.
05:15Giants legend Carl Banks. Not a lot of love for one of the best players on the New York Giants. In fact,
05:21last week, Banks, one of the greatest players in the history of the Giants franchise,
05:25called out defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence and said, no one respects you anymore. Nobody. And
05:30that's because Lawrence has less than a sack this season and only four quarterback hits.
05:35Lawrence had his chance to fight those words in the locker room on Banks yesterday.
05:41I don't think numbers indicate anything for real. They just something that's on the stack sheet. I think
05:47the way I play is disruptive. And you ask people I play against, they'll tell you the
05:53same thing. Not people who's talking.
05:57Were you surprised that Carl chose to air those criticisms of your game the way that he did
06:03on the podcast as opposed to coming in here or seeking out in the building to talk to you?
06:06Uh, yeah, those words were, those are strong words, but that's how you feel.
06:14You'll see what motivation that leads to this week. All right. No motivation needed
06:18for Austin Reeves in Los Angeles Lakers. This guy is putting up 50 and 40. And then last night,
06:25the game winner, 116-115, Reeves is having a week to remember. And this is all without LeBron James.
06:33Last night without Luka Doncic, they beat Minnesota 116 to 115. Here's Reeves after the game on the
06:40historic week. Um, it's special, I know, but like I said out there, you know, we wouldn't have been
06:47in that position if it wasn't for, you know, everybody that, you know, chipped in tonight. Um,
06:52you know, Jake was monstrous. Uh, I think that's the best basketball game I've seen him play since
06:58he's been in the league. Um, but you could go down the list. It wasn't just him. And, uh, even though I
07:03struggled offensively, um, you know, putting the ball in the basket, um, you know, we didn't let
07:09that frustrate us. They kept hooping and kept encouraging me to go do what I do.
07:14Starting to see a little growth for Cooper flag. He had 15 points and 10 rebounds and the Mavericks
07:20get a huge win yesterday over the Indiana Pacers 107 to 105. The Pacers did have a shot to win in the
07:27end, but Aaron Neesmith missed an open three to win it at the buzzer. Cooper flag talked about the
07:32victory and his 15, 10 last night. Um, I mean, I think for us, it was just about staying consistent.
07:39Um, you know, a great play like that. He leaves, um, you know, obviously the team's down a man,
07:43but I think it's about just coming together, you know, playing the same, the same way we want to
07:47play, uh, following the game plan. Um, obviously we had to play a little different, you know,
07:51PJ playing a little bit at the five, you know, DP came in was huge for us tonight. Actually, he was
07:56really good. Um, and that's just what DP does. You know, he's just so consistent. So,
08:00I mean, that was huge for us, but I think it was just about staying consistent.
08:03In other results, triple, double Nikola Jokic. Yeah, they did it again. Fourth straight game
08:08and the Nuggets route the Pelicans 122 to 88. And Jalen Brown, of course, is the healthy
08:15remaining Boston Celtics player. They were underdogs last night of three and a half points
08:19against Cleveland. Brown had 30 points and the Cavaliers three game winning streak is snapped.
08:25The final score in that game was Boston 125 and Cleveland 105.
