Ford baut in Michigan eine hochmoderne Batteriefabrik für Lithium-Eisenphosphat-Zellen (LFP), um unabhängig von ausländischen Zulieferern die nächste Generation von Elektrofahrzeugen zu ermöglichen. Der sogenannte BlueOval Battery Park Michigan soll bereits im kommenden Jahr mit der Produktion starten und deckt auf fast 1,5 km Länge modernste Zell- und Batterieherstellung ab.

Mit einer Investition von etwa 3 Milliarden Euro schafft Ford rund 1.700 neue Arbeitsplätze und setzt auf eigene Fertigung und Know-how-Aufbau. Die C-Muster-Zellen für Tests sind bereits im Einsatz. Ziel ist es, E-Autos günstiger, sicherer und nachhaltiger zu machen.
