00:00:52We start with Falkirk's trip to Celtic Park where Martin O'Neill took charge for the first time in 20 years following Brendan Rodgers' incredible resignation just 48 hours ago.

00:01:11The shock resignation of the man who helped Celtic dominate in recent years.

00:01:16Brendan Rodgers resigned as Celtic manager sent on his way with an explosive and withering statement from the club's largest shareholder, Dermot Desmond.

00:01:25If you said yesterday that all this would be happening, people would have looked at you if you've got three heads.

00:01:30Legendary Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has answered the club's call and will take charge of first team matters on an interim basis.

00:01:38If there's any man that can turn it around there and get them one in and get that crowd back one side, it's only him.

00:01:44Funky things can happen around Halloween, but Scottish football this season has been a constant supply of surprises, uncanny moments and plot twists.

00:01:55Can Celtic's new old boys weave their magic or will Falkirk conjure up a shock here tonight?

00:09:52I'm delighted, satisfied in the sense that I thought we played very well.

00:10:00My anxiety has become somewhat now.

00:10:04And yeah, it was really nice to win.

00:10:06And when you get a few goals in front, I think perhaps maybe you can enjoy the last 10 or 15 minutes.

00:10:12So it kind of brought me back in many aspects.

00:10:14I thought for 30 minutes our guys played really well.

00:10:17We passed the ball really, really well.

00:10:20We looked comfortable in it.

00:10:21Yeah, we were having to defend.

00:10:23The longer the half went, the more we were having to defend.

00:10:26You know, we lose a goal in 30 minutes.

00:10:28And, you know, second goal in 40 minutes.

00:10:32So it's a mountain to climb at half-time.

00:10:35But this game will know the final season.

00:10:38I think one criticism of Celtic, this campaign, has been a sort of ponderous approach getting forward.

00:10:44Was there an emphasis on doing that quickly tonight?

00:10:47Because it seems so.

00:10:48I'm not here.

00:10:49I haven't seen Celtic often enough this season, live, to make criticisms of the side.

00:10:55Absolutely not.

00:10:57And, you know, that team have been winning.

00:10:59So at the end of it all, it was just nice to win after, just as I said to you earlier, a restoration of confidence was great.

00:11:08And some of the lads performed brilliantly.

00:11:10And it's a lovely feeling in addressing them to win.

00:11:14Martin O'Neill gets Celtic back to winning ways.

00:11:17And we're glad to hear his anxiety has gone for just now.

00:11:21We'll chat about what's happening at the club shortly, Jackie.

00:11:24But that was a whole lot better tonight from Celtic.

00:11:27Yeah, it was.

00:11:28I thought it was a good game.

00:11:29You know, Falkirk had a goal.

00:11:30They came with a shot.

00:11:32But Celtic were, once they get the goals, you know, I thought their energy and the team, I thought they were very good over the piece.

00:11:39A lot of pressure on Johnny Kenny, Neil, tonight, leading the line for Celtic.

00:11:44But I thought he'd a very strong match, obviously get the goals, but played well without that.

00:11:48I actually quite like him.

00:11:49There's a lot being said about Celtic's lack of activity in the transfer market to bring a real top-class recognised striker.

00:11:55But he looks the type of player that's going to give defences trouble.

00:12:00Give him service, he'll get across people, as he's shown today.

00:12:03But he worked hard for his goals in terms of being clever in the mind.

00:12:08He found himself in the good positions.

00:12:09I think Celtic did probably play forward quicker today.

00:12:13Neygren was excellent, hitting the box.

00:12:16But Kenny's, you'll see Kenny's instinct here, which is brilliant.

00:12:20Neygren's obviously pivotal to it.

00:12:22But as we just see this angle here, we're just going to get a little freeze on it.

00:12:25And he's with Liam Henderson.

00:12:27As it comes back to Neygren, it's a terrific effort, just on his swivel.

00:12:31Liam Henderson's got Kenny here.

00:12:32But look at the difference of a mind of a striker versus a centre-back.

00:12:36A striker that just wants to score goals.

00:12:38He's alive.

00:12:39Yes, he gets a bit of fortune, but he's first to react and sends it away.

00:12:43Again, it comes out wide.

00:12:46He finds himself between the two centre-backs, Conor Allen and Liam Henderson.

00:12:50He's never going to be picked up.

00:12:51There's a gap there.

00:12:52Neygren, who did it all day today, just breaking into the space.

00:12:56Love a little punch there, the other back.

00:12:57And he gets across Henderson, making sure it's good, clean contact.

00:13:00So there's absolutely a striker there.

00:13:02Where he offers a bottle in behind as well, he's prepared to run on his shoulder.

00:13:06But as he showed today, he put it in between the posts, he's going to be there for them.

00:13:10Is that the cup final for you?

00:13:12I think he has to, yeah.

00:13:13Falkirk, as John McGlynn said, for 30 minutes at least, started the game well.

00:13:19They were brave in possession of the ball.

00:13:22Created one or two chances, but you've got to defend better than that if you want to get a result at Celtic Park, Jackie.

00:13:27Absolutely.

00:13:27As you said, I think Neil touched on there with Neygren.

00:13:30And I thought he's movement, you know, a lot of the time tonight he played as like a second striker.

00:13:36And I don't think they picked up his run.

00:13:37You see the second goal in between the full-back and the centre-back just causing them problems.

00:13:42And Celtic actually played a lot more, you know, forward balls, a lot more crosses into the box.

00:13:47And I don't think they handled it at all.

00:13:49No, they didn't.

00:13:50And Neygren, obviously.

00:13:51I mean, he gets a lot of opportunities in games.

00:13:53We saw that in the European game last week when, you know, he missed quite a few.

00:13:57But he does trip in the goals as well.

00:13:59He does.

00:14:00I actually thought he could have had a hat-trick tonight.

00:14:02He had a couple of headers in the first half.

00:14:04This one there, you know, he does well to keep it down.

00:14:08It's a difficult one.

00:14:09But I think Bain will be disappointed.

00:14:11Got to do it better.

00:14:12I thought he could have actually caught it rather than putting it where he did.

00:14:17But I'm sure Neygren will be happy with it.

00:14:18I mean, he had a lot of other good saves in the match, in fairness to Bain.

00:14:21And he'd break away a good ball from Macau in there.

00:14:24You know, Henderson actually thought he could have just stayed on his feet there.

00:14:28He kind of takes himself out of the game.

00:14:30But nevertheless, a good finish.

00:14:32Yeah, Henderson, he doesn't really need to slide in here, Neil.

00:14:34If he does, he's got to make sure he gets something on it.

00:14:36Yeah, I mean, it had a difficult evening tonight.

00:14:39But this was maybe an indication of Martin O'Neill's influence,

00:14:42early influence in the team in terms of putting balls in behind,

00:14:46attacking quicker with fewer passes.

00:14:48Tanitke is absolutely being a star signing for me.

00:14:51I think the point you make, Jackie, about Neygren is

00:14:53that's absolutely his best player,

00:14:56his best position in behind a striker that he can just release.

00:14:59And a couple of games, Brendan Rodgers actually used him off the right.

00:15:02Now, I understand that he's trying to find positions,

00:15:06particularly when they've not replaced Kuhn,

00:15:08and coming in off that side to release a full-back.

00:15:10But without question, for me, Neygren is a player

00:15:13that has lit it up for Celtic by hitting those gaps beyond the striker.

00:15:17Jackie, there seems to be a split amongst the supporters

00:15:20over Brendan Rodgers' resignation

00:15:22and where the club find themselves at this minute in time.

00:15:25Who's to blame Brendan Rodgers or the board?

00:15:29Where do you sit with it?

00:15:30I think it's a bit of both, to be honest.

00:15:33I think, obviously, Brendan was clearly not happy from the summer.

00:15:39You know, I thought his statement weeks ago

00:15:42about the Honda Civic and the cars with the players,

00:15:46I thought that was wrong.

00:15:48But there should be a togetherness, and there wasn't.

00:15:52You know, there was clearly issues there

00:15:54and the fact that it's taken Dermot Desmond to come out

00:15:56and do a statement, you know,

00:15:58not the chief exec, not anybody else at the club,

00:16:01you know, from Dermot to come out.

00:16:03And it was quite a strong statement.

00:16:06What did you make of this statement?

00:16:08I mean, from the outside in,

00:16:10was he deflecting a lot of the responsibility

00:16:12and putting it all on Brendan Rodgers?

00:16:14It seems that way.

00:16:15I mean, it looks that way.

00:16:17I mean, he's, you know, a bit divisive.

00:16:21And, I mean, the board have taken a lot of stick

00:16:23from the fans and have turned on them.

00:16:26And, obviously, that's now put back onto Brendan from Dermot.

00:16:30But, you know, I think it's important

00:16:33they get a bit of unity.

00:16:34And they've not had that for a number of weeks.

00:16:37Is that an opportunity, you think,

00:16:38from the Celtic hierarchy,

00:16:40just to alleviate the pressure on them

00:16:41by just taking a decisive action with Brendan?

00:16:44And just try to take the pressure off of them

00:16:46in terms of what Brendan Rodgers felt

00:16:49their part was in all this?

00:16:51Yeah, when things don't go well,

00:16:53there's a blame culture.

00:16:54Someone is to blame us at recruitment.

00:16:56You know, there's Paul Tisdale

00:16:58in the head of recruitment.

00:16:59We don't really hear or see anything.

00:17:01The fans didn't know that Brendan has the say

00:17:05in ins and outs of their club.

00:17:07So that's the first time we're actually hearing that.

00:17:09You know, the club done a statement,

00:17:11I think it was last month,

00:17:13about the transfer dealings in the summer.

00:17:15If they'd said these little things there,

00:17:17I think the fans would understand about it.

00:17:19And I think that's, they want answers

00:17:21and they want to be told, you know,

00:17:23why things haven't been done.

00:17:25Or, you know, that, obviously,

00:17:27your statement tells you quite a lot from Dermot.

00:17:29It certainly does.

00:17:34They faced a confident Hearts

00:17:35after their victory against Celtic just three days ago.

00:17:38Only once have Hearts lost this season.

00:17:42That was in Paisley and that was on penalties in the League Cup.

00:17:49they'll have to end their run of three straight defeats.

00:17:53And they'll have to stop the Hearts bandwagon,
