00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog about the Mahindra Scorpio and Carbon Edition.
00:12As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:18With the Scorpio Carbon Edition, Mahindra has launched another special edition of its popular SUV.
00:24But the name is misleading. You won't find any real or even artificial carbon here.
00:31Instead, Mahindra is opting for an all-black look, which has established itself as a proven strategy for special models worldwide.
00:40The reason for this edition is the sale of 200,000 units of the Scorpio N in India since its launch in 2022.
00:47As the successor to the original Scorpio, which has been built since 2002 and is still offered as the Scorpio Classic,
00:54the Scorpio N is based on a new platform and offers modern technology and a fresh design.
01:03The Carbon Edition is only available in metallic black.
01:08All chrome elements of the standard model have been replaced with dark smoky chrome inserts.
01:13The 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in piano black, while the roof rails have a dark Galvano coating.
01:22The headlights and taillights have also been slightly darkened to give the vehicle an even more striking look.
01:29The dark design continues inside.
01:32The seats are upholstered in black imitation leather and have contrasting stitching.
01:37Instead of carbon elements, Mahindra uses additional smoke chrome details.
01:43The carbon edition is only available as a seven-seater with three rows of seats based on the upscale Z8 and Z8L trim levels.
01:53This means that an 8-inch infotainment system, a sunroof, and a 12-speaker sound system are standard equipment.
02:00The Scorpio N is powered by either a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 200 horsepower or a 2.2-liter diesel with 175 horsepower.
02:08Both engines are available with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
02:17While the petrol engine is only available with rear-wheel drive, the diesel can be ordered with all-wheel drive as an option.
02:24The carbon edition costs the equivalent of between âŹ20,300 and âŹ26,300 in India, depending on the engine and equipment.
02:33This puts the price around âŹ210 more than the corresponding standard versions of the Scorpio N.
02:41The main competitor of the robust ladder-frame SUV is the Tata Harrier Dark Edition, which is based on a monocoque body structure derived from Land Rover.
