00:08Huawei and Edo have officially announced that the luxurious and technologically advanced vehicle will be launched in April,
00:14further intensifying competition in the mid- to large-size SUV segment.
00:20Edo, the premium brand for new energy vehicles, was launched in December 2021 by Huawei and the Zaris Group
00:27and is part of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance.
00:31The brand has already established itself with the existing models IOM5, Edo M7 and IOM9.
00:40While the M7 is only available as an extended-range electric vehicle,
00:44the M5 and M9 will be offered in both AF and full electric variants.
00:50The new Edo M8 will also initially be released as an RF model,
00:54according to a recent registration with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
01:01The Edo M8 will be offered in two seating configurations with five or six seats
01:06and follows the design style of the existing model series.
01:11Measuring 5.2 meters long, 2.0 meters wide, 1.8 meters high and with a wheelbase of 3.1 meters,
01:18it offers generous space.
01:22Battery options include two capacities of around 52 kWh and 36 kWh.
01:29Depending on the variant selected, the electric range is either 235, 240 or 161 kilometers.
01:38Under the hood is a 1.5L engine with a maximum output of 118 kW.
01:43This is supplemented by a front motor with 165 kW and a rear motor with 227 kW,
01:52allowing the vehicle to reach a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour.
01:58According to reports, the Edo M8 will be available on the market as both an RF and a fully electric version.
02:04This positions the model below the Edo M9 and is expected to be priced at around €44,000.

02:22shared a video highlighting the strengths of the Edo M8.
02:25The model is said to offer at least eight dynamic and comprehensive functions to ensure the best possible user experience.
02:35Visually, the vehicle is characterized by a continuous lamp design with striking headlights.
02:42It is also speculated that it will feature a large format seamlessly connected display and advanced Huawei driving assistance solution.
