00:19Flexis is a joint venture founded in 2024 by Renault, the Volvo Group and the logistics
00:24company CMACGM, which specializes in highly connected electric vans. The aim is to develop
00:33a new generation of smart vans. Production will start in 2026 at the Renault plant in
00:39Sandewil, Normandy. Three model variants have already been determined, the step-in van,
00:45the panel van and the cargo van. These vehicles are based on a specially developed electric
00:54suppliers according to the WLTP. Flexis has invested around 350 million euros in research
01:02and development to date, with a focus on the electric platform, which integrates all drive
01:06components. A significant innovation is the considerable weight reduction. The Flexis vans
01:15are 300 kilograms lighter than comparable models with retrofitted electrified combustion engines.
01:20They are also said to be around 25 centimeters shorter than conventional light commercial
01:26vehicles, which improves their maneuverability in the city. The turning circle is 10.3 meters.
01:34The step-in van was designed with an interior height of 190 centimeters,
01:39allowing drivers and logistics workers to stand upright in the cargo area.
01:43It has sliding doors on the sides and a rear roller door, allowing direct access from the
01:48cockpit to the cargo area. Flexis classifies it as a medium-sized van with a total weight of around
01:562.8 tons. The panel van was specially developed for urban traffic. With a vehicle height of also
02:03190 centimeters, it fits easily into multi-story and underground car parks. Visually, it is reminiscent
02:10of a modern van and is said to be particularly maneuverable. The cargo end was developed for last-mile
02:17deliveries. Its body is flexible and can be adapted to various requirements.
