00:00Welcome to the Tuning Blog Video. Today, it's all about the ZJOYO.
00:08An exciting electric lightweight vehicle that has also been available in Germany since 2023.
00:14In times of ever larger and more expensive cars and increasingly congested cities,
00:18the question arises as to whether the growing variety of models in the lightweight vehicle
00:22class can be an alternative. Even in Germany, where status symbols often play a major role.
00:30The ZFav Yojo meets precisely this requirement and offers an interesting mix of compact size,
00:36innovative technology and urban mobility.
00:41Lightweight vehicles are available in two classes. L6E vehicles, which are limited to 45 km per hour
00:47and can be driven from the age of 15 in some federal states, and LA models with more powerful
00:52engines. The approval requirements for these vehicles are clearly defined. The unladen
00:59weight without batteries may not exceed 450 kg and the engine output is limited to 20 hp.
01:06The class recently gained greater attention with the market launch of the Microlino.
01:11The XEFA Jojo is built in Shanghai, China. It measures just 2.5 meters in length and offers space for two
01:18people. A special feature is its customizability, as various decorative elements from the 3D printer
01:25allow for personal design, even for used cars. The concept and marketing, on the other hand,
01:33were developed in Italy. A real unique selling point is the battery exchange system with which
01:38the Jojo aims to stand out from the crowd. Similar to the vehicles from NIO, the first stations have
01:46already been set up in cooperation with the petrol station chain N, where employees exchange the three
01:51battery elements, each weighing 22 kg, for fully charged ones. These are housed in a cabinet that
01:59is about the size of an Amazon locker. It would be even more practical if users could exchange the
02:05batteries themselves. For example, in large supermarkets or fleet depots. The driver could start the
02:13exchange process using an app or an RFID card, provided they have sufficient muscle power.
02:19Alternatively, the battery can be charged via a charging port on the front of the vehicle.
02:25Charging at a household power outlet takes about 4 hours before the Jojo is ready for around 160
02:30kilometers of city driving again. The interior offers a storage volume of up to 247L above the battery
02:39compartment. The two seats are manually adjustable and offer sufficient space for the driver and front
02:45passenger. Despite its compact dimensions, the cockpit feels high quality, also thanks to the
02:51interchangeable design elements. The infotainment system includes a 10.15-inch touchscreen with
02:58smartphone integration. Air conditioning is also installed as standard. In terms of driving technique,
03:04the XIF Jojo shows its best side in city traffic. In the normal driving mode D, the car accelerates to
03:1150 kilometers per hour. After that, the acceleration becomes sluggish. The spur position provides a remedy,
03:17making the car noticeably more agile. Basically, the D mode acts as a kind of speed limiter for the city.
03:24A clever idea. The top speed is around 90 kilometers per hour. Despite its short wheelbase,
03:32the ride comfort is solid and the Jojo remains surprisingly quiet even on uneven roads.
03:39The turning circle is extremely small, allowing the vehicle to turn almost on the spot. While driving,
03:45apart from a slight humming sound from the electric motor, hardly anything can be heard. In everyday use,
03:51realistic ranges of 150 kilometers are possible. In Germany, the XIF Jojo is sold by the importer Indimo
03:58Automotive. The price is just under 16,000 euros, making it significantly cheaper than the Microlino.
04:07The option to individually configure the colors of the body and interior decorative elements makes
04:11it even more attractive. The Jojo is not intended to be a full-fledged car.
04:19The licensing regulations for light vehicles do not require airbags or crash tests.
04:23Nevertheless, compared to a two-wheeler, it is the safer alternative with the advantage of offering
04:29a protected interior. In a direct comparison with competitors, the XIF Jojo scores with its good
04:36handling and modern infotainment system. As always, you can find the link to read the article
