Juan Lazcano faces Wilfredo Vazquez for the NABF Lightweight Title on Showtime Boxing
Transcript
00:00:00Tonight, redemption is the theme for tonight's battle between the enigmatic Andrew Galata and the hard-working Orlin Norris.
00:00:08Despite his 35 wins, Galata's talents and his triumphs have been obscured in a career marred by fouls and mysterious behavior.
00:00:19Although Norris is a former cruiserweight champion and a legitimate heavyweight contender, he may be most remembered for his controversial finish with Mike Tyson.
00:00:33Oh, it's great! Oh, and he hits him after the foul and Norris doesn't stop!
00:00:39Right there in your knee and you can't continue. No! No!
00:00:43That's it. It's me. You can't continue.
00:00:44Who will redeem his career and emerge from tonight's contest as a serious challenger to the heavyweight crown?
00:00:52The answer lies in the eye of tonight's heavyweight store.
00:00:56The End
00:04:08Now, at one time, many felt Galata had the potential to be heavyweight champion, but a series of inexplicable fouls and baffling behavior left him more of a curiosity than a contender.
00:04:18Galata offers this explanation for his bizarre ring tactics.
00:04:22I wasn't focused.
00:04:24I wasn't focused.
00:04:25I wasn't focused.
00:04:26That's why maybe the whole foul skin I came up from, from the tiredness.
00:04:31I don't know.
00:04:32Maybe it was too much fatigue, you know, and that's why somebody told me that I'm a dirty fighter.
00:04:40I'm not that dirty, you know, but I think at least two or three times a day shower, you know, so I try to stay clean.
00:04:50Yes, Andrew Galata looking to fall back on a career in stand-up comedy.
00:04:56But seriously, folks, when you examine Galata's history, you see that the big names like Bo, Lewis, and Grant have brought out the worst in the man.
00:05:04The bigger the name, the brighter the spotlight, the stranger the behavior.
00:05:08With that, let me bring on my ringside partners first to fight Dr. Ferdie Pacheco.
00:05:12Ferdie, while Orlan Norris certainly isn't on the level that we discussed before, those other guys like Bo and Grant and Lewis,
00:05:19he's certainly a vast improvement over Galata's last opponent, the journeyman Marcus Rohde.
00:05:24Do you think Galata can remain in control of his emotions here tonight?
00:05:28I may be one of the few in the United States that thinks he does, and he can.
00:05:32And as he goes fighting better and better opposition, and with this kind of money that's outstanding out there for him,
00:05:38I think he's going to have to control himself. I think he will control himself.
00:05:42With Norris, it isn't that big a come-up. Norris is looking for a good bye fight and get out.
00:05:46Look at that last one. I mean, unless this guy hits him on the knee, I don't think he's going to stay around very long with Galata.
00:05:52So, Galata, yes, he is on the way to becoming a realistic challenger for the heavyweight title.
00:05:59It's going to be very interesting when he gets himself under control.
00:06:03You have your knee pads on? You ready? I have. I'm ready.
00:06:05All right. When we last saw Orla Norris, it was back on October 23rd right here in Las Vegas.
00:06:10As you may recall, it was a very short night that ended in controversy.
00:06:17The fight began normally enough after the opening bell, but it was following the closing bell of the very first round
00:06:23when things sort of got out of hand.
00:06:29After that bell sounded, Tyson clearly hit Norris, who crumbled to the canvas.
00:06:33But in the process of going down, Norris claimed that he twisted his right knee.
00:06:37He was unable to continue. Referee Richard Steele, who always seems to be in the center of controversy,
00:06:42said the punch by Tyson was accidental, and he declared the bout a no contest.
00:06:46It was a fight that lasted just over three minutes.
00:06:50Since the incident, Norris has adopted the unflattering nickname, Trick Knees,
00:06:54and some were of the opinion that he may have feigned the injury to perhaps induce a big money rematch.
00:07:00Oddly enough, Norris is probably more well known from that notorious no contest than when he was a world champion.
00:07:07And with that, let me bring on my other ringside partner, Bobby Chez.
00:07:12And Bobby, do you think that Norris is truly looking to redeem himself here tonight,
00:07:17or he's just in it for another payday?
00:07:19Steve, I believe Orland Norris is completely dissatisfied with the way the Tyson fight ended.
00:07:24I think he has a lot to prove here tonight, at least twofold.
00:07:27Number one, he has to prove that he belongs here.
00:07:29Number two, that he can succeed here.
00:07:31Otherwise, you don't take a fight like Andrew Gallardo, who's one of the toughest heavyweights in the division.
00:07:35But I also firmly believe that it was his corner men and outside handlers
00:07:39that more orchestrated that sequence of events with a different agenda.
00:07:42I don't think the knee was as serious as everyone let on,
00:07:45but only Orland Norris and his people know.
00:07:47I think it was a bad call, a business decision, not a boxing decision.
00:07:51Norris is reportedly getting a relatively low $35,000,
00:07:54which would lead us to believe that he is doing this indeed to redeem himself.
00:07:59For more on Orland Norris, let's welcome noted boxing writer from the New York Daily News, Tim Smith.
00:08:04Thank you. Thank you, Steve.
00:08:06I'm standing here ringside with Dr. Flip Omansky, who is a medical advisor for the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
00:08:13Dr. Omansky, when you examined Orland Norris that night, what did you find with the knee?
00:08:19Immediately, there was swelling just lateral to his right knee.
00:08:25As I put my hand down there, I could feel it swelling.
00:08:30So there was, in your mind, a legitimate injury?
00:08:34You know, Tim, he had an MRI that night that actually showed the injury.
00:08:39And it's interesting to me that in other sports, like Kobe Bryant, if he hurts his ankle, no one ever questions that.
00:08:51But boxing is different.
00:08:53I can't tell you what was in Orland's head that night, but I can tell you he had an injury to his knee.
00:08:58Okay, so you have examined him before this fight, and you've cleared him the fight.
00:09:03So what did your medical exam find of the knee this time?
00:09:07He had a full orthopedic exam.
00:09:09He had another MRI.
00:09:11He rested after the first fight.
00:09:13He's been rehabbing his knee.
00:09:15Surgery was considered, but then they decided not to do that.
00:09:19When I examined him yesterday, his knee was extremely strong.
00:09:23It should not even be a factor tonight.
00:09:25So is there a chance that this could happen again?
00:09:28Is there a possibility that he could injure himself again in the same manner?
00:09:33Is it a career-threatening type situation?
00:09:35You know, I can't tell you there's not a chance.
00:09:38But in my opinion, Orland's knees will not be a factor tonight.
00:09:42Thank you very much, Dr. Homansky.
00:09:44Now back to Steve at ringside.
00:09:47All right, Tim, while Norris insists he didn't quit, the cynicism refuses to die.

00:10:28Once again, the web address is SHO.com.
00:10:34Set for a classic case of experience versus youth.
00:10:38It's three-time world champion Wilfredo Vazquez and hot prospect Juan Lascano for the vacant NAVF lightweight title.
00:10:45Vazquez a late replacement for former world champion James Leha, who suffered a bad cut during sparring.
00:10:51Let's take a look at Juan Lascano from Sacramento by way of Mexico and Texas.
00:10:58Part of a fighting...
00:11:00Opposition to date, Golden Johnson, a third-round TKO loss in 98.
00:11:07He's 8-0 since with seven knockouts.
00:11:10Pretty much a one-dimensional brawler, but very dangerous, extremely fast.
00:11:14But, Bobby, will Lascano's speed and strength be the differences or can, you know, those qualities be neutralized by Vazquez's experience?
00:11:26You know, one thing I gotta tell you is you can get old in a day and in no place is it more relevant than in the ring.
00:11:31Almost 40 years old right now, Vazquez could fold today and maybe could rise to occasion.
00:11:36If his experience works, if he can take the young boy to school, he can neutralize that.
00:11:41But I'll tell you what, it's only a matter of his body to tell.
00:11:46All right, the proud Puerto Rican Wilfredo Vazquez, the only man to win WBA belts in three different weight classes.
00:11:5219-year veteran, 21 world title fights, only loss in the last 11 to unbeaten featherweight champ Nassim Hamed.
00:12:00Age and slightly diminished skills, making you more of a slugger who comes right at you.
00:12:04He'll turn 40 in August.
00:12:06Bobby, very impressive credentials, but where does the man stand today?
00:12:10Well, you know, he still stands as a quality opponent for any of the champions to face.
00:12:13He brings great skills to the table, a big heart, and a wealth of experience.
00:12:17And on the right night, he could rise to the occasion and, who knows, get number four.
00:12:21Or he could get old right in front of our very eyes. We've seen that happen before.
00:12:25All right, let's check the numbers, which heavily favor Lascano.
00:12:28Biggest disparity in age, Lascano 15 years younger.
00:12:31Four-inch height advantage, Lascano. Six-inch reach at yesterday's Wayne.
00:12:35Lascano under the limit.
00:12:36Vasquez right on the money.
00:12:38And the fight times weights.
00:12:39Vasquez, 136.
00:12:40Lascano up seven and a half at 141.
00:12:43Key rules for this marginal championship.
00:12:47There is no standing eight count.
00:12:49No three knockdown rule.
00:12:50A fighter cannot be saved by the bell in any round.
00:12:53If an accidental headbutt occurs before the end of the fourth round, the voters ruled a no contest.
00:12:58After the end of the fourth, we go to the cards.
00:13:00So here at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, getting ready for the NABF Lightweight Championship, Vasquez Lascano.
00:13:06Let's get the formal introductions from our ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr.

00:14:00Our three judges scoring this bout from ringside, from Las Vegas, Nevada, Bill Belegia.
00:14:06From Seattle, Washington, Glenn Hamada.
00:14:09And from Las Vegas, Nevada, Jerry Roth.
00:14:13Introducing to you at this time, a referee in charge of the action, we have Jay Nady.
00:14:20Alright fans, here we go.
00:14:22Twelve rounds of boxing for the vacant NABF Lightweight Championship.
00:14:28Introducing to you first on my left, fighting out of the blue corner, entering the ring wearing red trunks with gold trim.
00:14:35He's originally from El Paso, Texas, now fighting out of Sacramento, California.
00:14:42He weighed in at a ready 133 and one half pounds, with a fine record of 22 wins, two losses and one draw.
00:14:50He has 16 wins coming by way of knockout.
00:14:53He has ranked the number 5 NABF Lightweight Contender, known as the Hispanic Causing Panic.
00:15:00Introducing, Juan Lascano.
00:15:04And his opponent across the ring on my right, fighting out of the red corner in this vacant 12 round championship bout.
00:15:15Wearing red trunks with white and blue trim, and hailing from Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
00:15:22He weighed in at a lightweight limit of 135 pounds, with a record of 52 wins, eight losses and three draws.
00:15:30He has 38 wins coming by way of knockout.
00:15:33Ladies and gentlemen, here is the former WBA Bantamweight, Super Bantamweight, and Featherweight Champion of the World.
00:15:41Currently ranked the NABF number 7 lightweight contender.
00:15:44Introducing, Wilfredo Vasquez.
00:15:54Once again a referee in charge, Jay Nady now to give instructions.
00:15:58Okay, let's keep your belt here, obey my commands.
00:16:02Belt to the belly button to the hip bone, where that ends.
00:16:05Do you have any questions?
00:16:07Alright, let's touch the gloves and go to work.
00:16:11Final instructions from referee Jay Nady.
00:16:14Bobby Chez, let's get your keys to victory right here.
00:16:17Okay, let's start with Vasquez, older fighter, must dictate the pace.
00:16:21Can't let the pace get out of hand for him.
00:16:23Also, go to Lascano's body, slow him down a little bit.
00:16:26Make him miss and make him pay, and that's called taking him to school.
00:16:34For Lascano, he wants to keep the pressure on Vasquez and make it a fast pace.
00:16:38Also, height and reach are in his favor, use him, make the older fighter use up energy.
00:16:42And then left hook to the body, one of his key weapons, to slow down the experience Vasquez.
00:16:47First title shot of any kind for Lascano, who is a lightning quick puncher.
00:16:52Very offensive minded, loves to work the body.
00:16:55Vazquez at his best, an aggressive pressure fighter with a good left hook.
00:17:00Very patient, knows all the tricks, does have power in both hands and a tremendous will to win.
00:17:07Versus vintage Vazquez, not advisable to get too close.
00:17:12He can do some damage with those short but powerful arms.
00:17:15You've got to stay outside, box and move.
00:17:18I think the first two rounds is going to be key for both fighters.
00:17:21If Vasquez can set the pace and box at his speed, at his pace, land, not land, move when he wants to.
00:17:27It's going to be tough for Lascano to beat him.
00:17:29He doesn't have the experience yet, he's got to press him.
00:17:31And sometimes Lascano can be wild and reckless, a little too intense.
00:17:35He can waste energy throwing too many punches.
00:17:38He needs to direct that intensity to his benefit.
00:17:41He's certainly going to go to school tonight.
00:17:43If he doesn't know enough, Vazquez will take him to school.
00:17:46Vazquez is an experienced fighter and a very competent one.
00:17:50He's got to walk.
00:17:51Vazquez said he'll offset Lascano's speed and strength with experience.
00:17:55He'll start out the first two rounds by studying Lascano, he told us.
00:17:59See what he's got.
00:18:00If he sees the chance for a KO, he'll go for it.
00:18:05Lascano from the Boxing Ridge Sacramento area, which has produced fighters like Diego Corrales,
00:18:11Tony the Tiger Lopez, Loreto Garza, Bobby Chacon.
00:18:14No shortage of talent there.
00:18:16Normally Lascano's a very pressure type fighter.
00:18:20He's a physical fighter, physically imposing.
00:18:22Keeps his body against George, likes to brawl.
00:18:24Doesn't always use his height and his reach.
00:18:25Today he seems to be starting at a little different pace.
00:18:28Look at those three hooks he just put in there.
00:18:30Those are hard.
00:18:32Hard hooks by Lascano.
00:18:34Stop!
00:18:35Lascano trained by the experienced Freddie Roach.
00:18:40Terrific fighter this time.
00:18:42Good left uppercut there by Lascano.
00:18:45Right on the butt.
00:18:48There's that beautiful left hook to the body we talked about for Lascano.
00:18:51Using some wonderful uppercuts on the inside.
00:18:53Oh, he's doing some damage with those short punches.
00:18:56Lascano's punching short and hard.
00:18:59Nice left hooks by Lascano and left uppercut.
00:19:02Let's see what Vasquez does here.
00:19:04The whole forehead of Vasquez has turned into a red welter.
00:19:08Look at that.
00:19:09He has been getting hammered with the jab and those uppercuts.
00:19:12You can see the size advantage for the younger Lascano.
00:19:15Lascano with the big reach advantage.
00:19:19Wow.
00:19:20He's putting hard shots.
00:19:21Little shoulder slash forearm thrown by Lascano to get Vasquez off him.
00:19:27Illegal.
00:19:28The referee took care of him.
00:19:29Under 30 seconds remaining in the opening round scheduled for 12 for the vacant NABF lightweight title.
00:19:41Again, that left uppercut is finding a hole by Lascano.
00:19:44Right on the chin.
00:19:45Look how red Wilfredo's face has gotten.
00:19:50Lascano's keeping his hands up tight.
00:19:51Keeping a pretty tight defense.
00:19:53Not getting hit very cleanly with the watchable Vasquez's throw.
00:19:56Lascano very busy here in the opening round.
00:20:00Extremely active.
00:20:01And he's got this one in the ball.
00:20:04Don't let your hands down.
00:20:17You're getting hit.
00:20:18Don't let them down.
00:20:19You hear me?
00:20:21He's throwing too many hooks that are landing because your hands are too low.
00:20:26Don't leave your hands though.
00:20:28Lascano being very accurate.
00:20:45Firing down the middle with the jab.
00:20:46Hook off the side.
00:20:47Off the top of the head.
00:20:49Not letting Vasquez press him too much.
00:20:52Making him miss.
00:20:53Making him miss another hook.
00:20:55Being very productive.
00:20:56Very accurate.
00:20:57Very little energy.
00:21:04Lascano's plan was to push Vasquez from the start.
00:21:07Apply constant pressure.
00:21:08Make him fight three minutes of every round.
00:21:11Well he's off to a good start.
00:21:13It was interesting but Vasquez pressed the pace in that first round.
00:21:17Clearly he's smaller, shorter reach.
00:21:19And he needs to close the gap.
00:21:20But he can also bop from the outside because Lascano doesn't always use his reach.
00:21:25The younger Lascano looked very sharp in the opening round.
00:21:29Picking off Vasquez's shots with his gloves.
00:21:31And countering with wicked hooks and uppercuts.
00:21:34The best thing I liked about him is he's not tentative.
00:21:36He's throwing hard punches.
00:21:37I mean it's not like he's trying to find them.
00:21:39He knows where he's at.
00:21:40And he's unloading.
00:21:41Lascano.
00:21:42Low blow.
00:21:43Low blow.
00:21:44Very confident.
00:21:45Little elbow in the mix too.
00:21:46Whoa.
00:21:47Box.
00:21:48That's the second warning.
00:21:50Oh.
00:21:51Jade Lady to Lascano for different situations.
00:21:55Well he certainly not taking a warning too seriously.
00:21:58He's going right back to the body.
00:21:59Well he's also like, I said before, physically imposing.
00:22:02He will keep his body up against yours and fire.
00:22:04He has good endurance.
00:22:05Throws a lot of punches and a lot of them are hard.
00:22:08Loscano, basically an unknown commodity at this point, but feels the win here could really put him on the map.
00:22:14No more.
00:22:15We'll take a point away next time. You hit him way too low.
00:22:18Jane 80, warning. Loscano, one more. He'll take a point away.
00:22:21I don't know about that. Those trucks are really up high.
00:22:24That last body shot I thought was borderline anyway on the belt. Belt is legal.
00:22:28Do you think those trucks are higher than the other guys? Look at that.
00:22:32They're way up there. Way up. Too hard.
00:22:38Loscano continues to pepper away.
00:22:42Down to the shoulder.
00:22:43Bobby, he uses that left shoulder to dig in as well, and Jane 80, Jane 80 did like it.
00:22:48He doesn't use it just to dig in. What he does is throw his fighter off him.
00:22:51Sticks it in his face.
00:22:53Could bust up his head. He could use the elbow.
00:22:55He does throw it at his opponent and use it as a weapon. That's illegal.
00:22:59That was almost a low blow. He started to move in, although he'd have to take a round away from him.
00:23:03He moves in now.
00:23:05Now he's punching hard. Mascano's right in there.
00:23:10Mascano, to this point, dictating the pace of this fight.
00:23:17We've seen Wilfredo fight many, many a fight where he gets behind and then just guts it out the rest of the way.
00:23:23Tough, gutty fighter. These opening rounds almost don't mean anything to him.
00:23:27Right, but the pace may be a little quick for somebody that's 39 years old and change.
00:23:31Keep this up. Oh, come from behind late. He's running through a lot of punishment early.
00:23:36How well does his body hold up?
00:23:37We'll see how the 39 year old Vasquez responds.
00:23:42He says age is not a factor that he's in the best shape of his life, but all fighters say that.
00:23:49He says he hasn't lost his power.
00:23:51Is that the last thing that you lose?
00:23:53Well, I think for, yeah. I think fighters who know how to punch will be able to punch indefinitely.
00:23:57They'll punch forever.
00:23:58But they will lose their legs. They will lose their reflexes first.
00:24:01You can fade, slow down, but still have the power, for example, George Foreman.
00:24:11Jay, his trunks are a little high.
00:24:13Okay.
00:24:17Nice deep breath.
00:24:19Atta boy.
00:24:21Very good out there, Ron.
00:24:23Nice and loose, taking control.
00:24:25Watch those low blows.
00:24:26I know his trunks are high.
00:24:27Make sure you're playing them right in the solar pikes.
00:24:29He's close to taking a point away. I don't want that to happen.
00:24:31Okay.
00:24:32All right.
00:24:33Now, place those shots.
00:24:35The first low blow, which was clearly...
00:24:37There's a nice elbow, too.
00:24:39But behind that comes his left hook, which he digs low.
00:24:42That one is squarely in the low region.
00:24:45That's a loaded belt south of the border.
00:24:47Not a comfortable punch.
00:24:53The second one, you see the trunks pop up.
00:24:55So, although the view wasn't great for us.
00:24:58The referee's view was great.
00:25:00Called it a low blow.
00:25:01A low blow.
00:25:02It remains.
00:25:10It's time for Vasquez to start putting his game plan in effect.
00:25:14Because he has not had success in what he's done so far.
00:25:18But Vasquez's fights generally don't last all that long.
00:25:21It averages just over four rounds for his 25-fight career.
00:25:27They certainly fight with the confidence of a man that's used to knocking out people.
00:25:32Oh, low blow.
00:25:33Oh, low blow.
00:25:34He's starting to move in again.
00:25:36Lascano missing with a left and a right.
00:25:42Vasquez trying to respond.
00:25:43Vasquez's punch is just not as hard.
00:25:45Not as accurate.
00:25:46And not as many.
00:25:47Lascano's punches exploding off the body it had on Vasquez.
00:25:56Tremendous speed too with those punches.
00:25:58I have to tell you, Lascano uses elbows and forearms an awful, awful lot.
00:26:02He doesn't do it in a nasty way.
00:26:05But it's still not legal.
00:26:06He doesn't fight like a 24-year-old.
00:26:09He knows all the tricks.
00:26:11He does fight like a veteran who's been in there a little bit.
00:26:14But you know that a lot of his fights are short.
00:26:16He hasn't been deep.
00:26:17And hasn't been deep in a hard fight with a man with the skills that Vasquez possesses.
00:26:26Vasquez just scored with an uppercut.
00:26:28You can see Lascano's head snapped back.
00:26:31But he didn't follow it up.
00:26:35Now Vasquez backpedaling.
00:26:43This is a lot of physical pressure for a guy Vasquez's age.
00:26:47Punches are heavy.
00:26:48You start to take your toe earlier when you're over 35.
00:26:51He's almost 40.
00:26:52I think he's wearing down Vasquez.
00:26:56I don't think Vasquez had any idea.
00:26:57He's gonna get in with a punching machine like this.
00:26:59He's taking some shots.
00:27:00Big ones.
00:27:02Lascano's doing exactly what he said he would do.
00:27:05Don't push him down.
00:27:06A lot of pressure.
00:27:07Again a warning.
00:27:08This time for pushing Vasquez down.
00:27:10He's going to kick his neck.
00:27:11He's coming up.
00:27:12He's going to take him down.
00:27:13He's going to kick his knee.
00:27:14Now, you're coming up.
00:27:15That's what it's going to do today.
00:27:16He's going to do today.
00:27:17He's going to take a break.
00:27:18He's going to take his knee.
00:27:19Well, he's saying goodbye to 39 the hard way in a fight like this.
00:27:26Vasquez who turned pro in 1981, Lascano in 1993 at the age of 18.
00:27:36Vasquez has been fighting almost 20 years.
00:27:4016-4-1 in world title fights.
00:27:4352-8-3 overall, Lascano 22-2-1.
00:27:47Right now, the strength factor is huge.
00:27:49You can just see the strength and the effects of the strength and the power of Lascano.
00:27:55Although, here comes Vasquez.
00:27:57This is the best flurry by the veteran Vasquez.
00:28:02As we head for the bow.
00:28:06Too little, too late, but boy, at least he's coming.
00:28:09You're getting hit too much.
00:28:21You still went around.
00:28:23You're getting hit too much.
00:28:25You're not doing anything.
00:28:27You've got to start working more.
00:28:32You've got to work.
00:28:36You've got to work on the body.
00:28:37You've got to work on the body.
00:28:39Take a look at another low south of the border.
00:28:46There it is.
00:28:47Under the belt line.
00:28:48If it hits the belt line, it's legal.
00:28:50Underneath the belt line, though, that is going to be a point eventually.
00:28:56Some of Vasquez's best action in the fight toward the end of the round,
00:28:58although Lascano comes right back and doesn't give much ground.
00:29:01Toward the very, very end, I think Lascano was a little more effective,
00:29:04but right before that, Vasquez got his shots in.
00:29:07I think his corner was right.
00:29:10He's not working hard enough.
00:29:11He better start working something.
00:29:12This kid looks like he's going to do this all night long.
00:29:16Round four scheduled for 12 for the vacant NAVF Lightweight Championship.
00:29:22Alfredo has three world titles.
00:29:24The only fighter to win WBA titles in three different weight classes.
00:29:30Vannaweight, Junior Feather, and Featherweight.
00:29:33He wants a rematch with Prince Nassim Ahmed, the undefeated WBO featherweight champ.
00:29:41But first, he's got to get by this kid, Lascano.
00:29:45Lascano and his people told us in the meetings, too.
00:29:47He said, listen, you have to step up eventually.
00:29:49It's time for us to step up and be counted.
00:29:51We can't get it done.
00:29:52We'll be back.
00:29:53We're young enough.
00:29:54But so far, he's getting it done well.
00:29:56And his manager, Gary Shaw, said that the third round TKO lost to Golden Johnson in 98
00:30:02was an aberration.
00:30:07Vasquez up.
00:30:09Oh, nice.
00:30:10Oh, good.
00:30:11Lunching straight right hand by Lascano.
00:30:13Oh, wow.
00:30:14Saves of Floyd Patterson.
00:30:15More evidence that the youthful speed getting the job done.
00:30:22Lascano continues to impress.
00:30:24And Velasquez, not obeying his corner, is running away and not working.
00:30:30It should be working.
00:30:31Apparently, he can't.
00:30:32The older fighters usually start slower and build into their rhythm, get into their pace.
00:30:38They can't start this quick and maintain.
00:30:40And Lascano has made him start quick.
00:30:47Juan Lascano, out of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, grew up in El Paso, Texas, called Sacramento,
00:30:53is home.
00:30:56Another right hand by Lascano right on the head.
00:30:59And it's lightning fast.
00:31:07Vasquez now responding a bit.
00:31:10Landed some nice body combinations and brought it up top.
00:31:13Scored on Lascano, but how much of this can he keep up and for how long?
00:31:18Lascano fighting off the ropes.
00:31:22And Lascano scoring with uppercuts to the body while his back is on the ropes.
00:31:26Now he spins Vasquez around.
00:31:29Watch your head.
00:31:30That is hard, hard action on the ropes with both fighters giving and taking just about equally.
00:31:35Boy, that was tough inside here.
00:31:37That's tough fighting.
00:31:43Lascano just grinding Vasquez down.
00:31:45This is brutal.
00:31:48Oh, beautiful.
00:31:52Defensive, Lascano is very tight too.
00:31:53He's keeping his hands high.
00:31:54He's blocking most of the shots.
00:31:56He's doing a real nice job.
00:31:57And then he's counting like that.
00:31:58And then Lascano goes upstairs.
00:32:01Back comes Vasquez with a short left hook.
00:32:06Good action just before the bell.
00:32:09Great action.
00:32:10Lascano is tough.
00:32:11Lascano is tough.
00:32:18Lascano on the right.
00:32:19You see he's got to catch his gap, but he has such good speed.
00:32:23He throws the lead right hand all the way from out here.
00:32:26And he lands.
00:32:27This is something that a few years ago would have never caught Vasquez.
00:32:30That's a long lead right hand to catch a man with the experience and skills of Vasquez.
00:32:34Well, that's when they say you can see it coming.
00:32:37When you see him in the corner, Vasquez had some of his best action in the corner pressing Lascano back the ropes.
00:32:43But Lascano fights well on the inside and off the ropes.
00:32:46Covers well.
00:32:47Counters well.
00:32:48Rips right hand off the sides of Vasquez's head.
00:32:50Uppercuts on the inside.
00:32:52Good action.
00:32:53But I think Vasquez is just pressing.
00:32:56That's Vasquez is trying his very best to somehow get some respect.
00:33:00Get his down the flesh.
00:33:02Just not working right now.
00:33:03Lascano beating him to the punch in every aspect of the game.
00:33:09Wad Lascano looking very seasoned beyond his years in his quest to win the vacant crown as we begin round five.
00:33:17Don't punch that shoulder.
00:33:18Well, we know Vasquez is tough.
00:33:22He's very tough.
00:33:23But boy, he's going to have to be supremely tough to hang in here to the end of this fight.
00:33:29That split-second extra difference in speed and the strength factor are huge right now by Lascano.
00:33:34All the experience Vasquez has, he can't cut into that strength factor.
00:33:38Lascano's two losses in his 25 fights to Jose Mangerez back in 94 and to Golden Johnson in 98.
00:33:48With the shoulder.
00:33:50Former Texas Golden Gloves champion.
00:33:53Terrific amateur career.
00:33:54Won 135 fights.
00:33:57No more.
00:33:58And all that experience seems to be coming to fruition.
00:34:02I tell you, he must think the referee's got something against him.
00:34:04He thinks he's been warned for everything in the book.
00:34:07So far, Vasquez has had one warning.
00:34:10It's a natural thing to him, but he does.
00:34:12Just leave with the shoulder and the forearm quite a bit.
00:34:14Especially on the inside.
00:34:15He'll shove you off with the forearm.
00:34:16That's illegal.
00:34:17Or the shoulder.
00:34:18Comes a natural to him, but he's doing it and it's illegal.
00:34:23Twisting left uppercut to the jaw by Lascano.
00:34:26That was an effective punch.
00:34:29It's a nice right hand.
00:34:30You see, even a few years ago, that right hand would have been stronger, faster,
00:34:33and it would have been a follow-up from Vasquez.
00:34:35Not there now.
00:34:36Halfway through the fifth.
00:34:39Again, Lascano going to the elbow.
00:34:42And he turns Vasquez around.
00:34:44Digs into the body.
00:34:48Bounces punches off Vasquez's head.
00:34:54The heads come awfully close.
00:34:57That's about the only thing they haven't done is butted hands.
00:35:00Look at that.
00:35:01Look at that action.
00:35:03Lascano has a lot of firepower still in his punches.
00:35:06Vasquez seems to be using up more than he wants to right now.
00:35:09Lascano just...
00:35:11Oh!
00:35:13There goes around.
00:35:14He shoves Vasquez with his head and shoulder.
00:35:15One more time with this and take the point away.
00:35:16Do you understand?
00:35:17Okay, don't do this anymore.
00:35:18That warranted a point right there, fellas.
00:35:20I thought that was a point right there.
00:35:21I thought that was it.
00:35:23That was a football sword.
00:35:24Jane 80 really giving Lascano the benefit of the doubt.
00:35:29He's been warned on several occasions for various fouls.
00:35:33Well, this is the time to fight, folks.
00:35:35Give him a little leeway.
00:35:40Lascano in command.
00:35:42Vazquez with no steam behind his punches.
00:35:50Break!
00:35:52A lot of power behind the punches of Lascano.
00:36:00Even that little short right hand by Lascano.
00:36:03Nice combination here by Vazquez.
00:36:05He just doesn't seem to have the strength and the stamina right now.
00:36:08I thought that one hit more gloves than anything else.
00:36:11It looked good, but it wasn't doing anything.
00:36:12No effect.
00:36:13Yeah, boy.
00:36:15Nice deep breath.
00:36:18One more.
00:36:19Nice deep.
00:36:21Blow it out.
00:36:23Okay, Juan.
00:36:24Now, Juan.
00:36:25I want you to keep using that jab.
00:36:26You're backing this guy up now with the pressure, all right?
00:36:29Now, don't be looking at just the home run shot, okay?
00:36:30I want you to set it up with the jab, all right?
00:36:33Now, start touching him with the double jab in the right...
00:36:34Watch this blatant elbow.
00:36:39He just really shoulder and elbow both.
00:36:42Shoves him with the shoulder and finishes it off with the elbow.
00:36:44That was extremely blatant.
00:36:45That was point deductible worthy.
00:36:50Vazquez has his combinations in his bag of tricks.
00:36:53Not all of them land clean, but he throws a nice combination
00:36:56to ward off a young buck.
00:36:57A young buck.
00:37:00Seconds out.
00:37:03We thought it might be Andrew Gulotta who'd be fouling.
00:37:07It's been wantless Cano to this point.
00:37:09Let's hope we don't see it in the main event.
00:37:11Well, he's on the right court.
00:37:16Round six.
00:37:18In my book, I've got a total shutout.
00:37:20I actually gave one round to Vazquez.
00:37:22I gave Vazquez the fourth round.
00:37:23I thought he hustled him just a little bit.
00:37:25But it was very close.
00:37:27Outside that, it's a clean run for the young guy.
00:37:30You heard the capable Freddie Roach in the corner of Los Cano.
00:37:34His calm, low-key approach.
00:37:36But as a fighter, he was fierce.
00:37:38He had Johnny Tapia up until recently.
00:37:40Tapia just went back with Jesse Reed for the third time.
00:37:42But it looks like he's got a good one in Juan Los Cano.
00:37:55Watch your head. Watch your head.
00:37:57Watch your head. Stop. Stop. Stop.
00:37:59Yep.
00:38:01No. Don't push him down.
00:38:03Step back. Step back. Box.
00:38:05Finally, a warning to Vazquez.
00:38:06Los Cano has strong punches.
00:38:08Pretty well throws a lot of punches.
00:38:10His conditioning stays here for 10, 12 rounds.
00:38:12And he shows to have a good chin.
00:38:13He hasn't really been caught really clean.
00:38:15Break. You have great potential in this young fighter.
00:38:18Throwing one punch in the break.
00:38:20Los Cano has been down two times in his career.
00:38:2225 fights against Golden Johnson, which he lost by third round TKO.
00:38:27And against Danny Lujan, he came back to win a KO-4.
00:38:30Watch over.
00:38:33Alfredo Vazquez has been down two times in 63 fights.
00:38:38Both times came back to win.
00:38:42No knockdowns here.
00:38:44You can see some of the punishment starting to show on Vazquez's face.
00:38:48Swelling a little bit. Extra red.
00:38:50And you can see a different look in his eyes now than there was coming in before round one.
00:38:55He looks weary.
00:38:56He looks almost frustrated and confused.
00:39:00What do I have to do to get this guy off of me?
00:39:02And there is no edge.
00:39:04Los Cano is right off.
00:39:06Vazquez being outworked, out-hustled.
00:39:11And he may just not have the reflexes, the timing.
00:39:16He certainly has the condition.
00:39:18He's always in great shape.
00:39:20Los Cano just bouncing shots off the head of Vazquez.
00:39:22But at 39, you've got to wonder if Vazquez's body can take this anymore.
00:39:26To do this for 20 years, to take this type of punishment, very difficult.
00:39:30Look at this exchange.
00:39:32Freak!
00:39:36Some vicious shots to the head by both fighters.
00:39:40I'll say one thing for Los Cano.
00:39:42He's only got one speed forward.
00:39:44Firing all guns and coming forward.
00:39:46For a tall fighter too, Los Cano fights well off the ropes.
00:39:48With his back to the ropes, we'll walk Vazquez's back to the ropes.
00:39:51We'll work him that way.
00:39:56Freak!
00:39:57Freak!
00:40:00Final seconds of round six.
00:40:07Coming up next, our main event.
00:40:09A matchup of heavyweights as Andrew Galata faces Orlin Doris.
00:40:15Let's take you into the dressing room of Andrew Galata.
00:40:19Always seems to have a story attached to his fights.
00:40:22If it isn't low blows leading to a riot, he's fighting his opponent.
00:40:25He could be ahead on all cards, then just stop.
00:40:28He could look impressive, then do something foolish, get DQ'd.
00:40:30And then, out of nowhere, get knocked out 95 seconds in, like he did against Lennox Lewis.
00:40:36Will he stick to the markets of Queensberry rules tonight against Orlin Doris?
00:40:41Stay tuned.
00:40:42You got a box, you keep looking at him.
00:40:54He's burying you.
00:40:56Okay, he says.
00:40:59Boy, does he look tired.
00:41:01Let's get him out.
00:41:03Look at that welt forming under his eye.
00:41:05Ugly thing.
00:41:07Boxing.
00:41:09Round six was a punishing one for Vasquez.
00:41:11We're halfway through this fight.
00:41:13Stop!
00:41:14Stop!
00:41:15For the vacant NABF title.
00:41:16No.
00:41:23They keep going on for that shoulder, but Vasquez does a good job of holding him when he comes in close, holding his arm.
00:41:29A shutout on line.
00:41:31How do you guys have it?
00:41:32A shutout.
00:41:33Six to nothing.
00:41:34He gave Vasquez one round and maybe it was just, uh, one of those things of, uh, former world champion being sympathetic to another one who's on the down slope.
00:41:43Oh, that was three great hooks.
00:41:45They look like they got Vasquez in trouble.
00:41:48Five consecutive unanswered hooks by Lescano.
00:41:53Oh, and then a quick left hook counter by Vasquez that got the attention of Lescano.
00:41:58He slowed Lescano down, but I'll tell you what, it's just not enough.
00:42:00He doesn't have enough firepower left.
00:42:02And it's usually one and done with Vasquez.
00:42:07Lescano follows him up.
00:42:09Well, those are a hammering series of shots that look like they had him going.
00:42:12Looked like he was just getting ready to go when he came back with his own.
00:42:16Vasquez is a hearty and gunny champion.
00:42:18One thing to his credit, too, for being as young as he is, when he unloads to the head, he goes to the body.
00:42:24He never forgets that left hook or right uppercut to the solar plexus.
00:42:27The mark of a good fighter.
00:42:30The exciting crowd-pleasing Juan Lescano in the red trunks with the black and white trim.
00:42:37He has been chance of putting them out, man.
00:42:38nochmal from Ninkum.
00:42:39He's been ahead.
00:42:40The mark at bothинster and brown, the one, he plays home by the Iowa.
00:42:42Joe Heahd has has a slight impact on him all.
00:42:43What do you think of the fellow Vano?
00:42:45Like, Adam, the Mota, Dogram, the left guard him out.
00:42:46But, what he said was to his fellow Vano.
00:42:47his pay tonight right left combination by vasquez but the first punch blocked by lascado now lascado
00:42:57again digging into the belly vasquez caution for holding lascado
00:43:09now the infighting two and a toe center of the ring another good shoulder to the chin that
00:43:14blocked the referee's view oh what a left uppercut to the chin of vasquez and it's all that's coming
00:43:21i think you can see vasquez's right eye starting to control what's holding vasquez up it's the ropes
00:43:26right now great champion great heart he does have the will the resolve
00:43:34a lesser man might have been on the canvas
00:43:39and vasquez comes back so does lascado with a countering right break
00:43:44there is no let up in lascado
00:43:50and there is no shortage of heart with vasquez who's losing his trunks
00:43:58well put oh what a left hook to the job by lascado lightning quick
00:44:06wow what crunching punches he just put it how did he stand up wow what a shot
00:44:15nice deep breath one
00:44:26there you go drink that
00:44:29nice deep breath all right one looking good out there that's the way to go all right now keep using
00:44:35that jab for me okay make this fight easy for you all right okay now one all right the jab and the
00:44:41feints you need a little more head movement with your feints for me okay all right just like in the
00:44:45gym all right come on now let's put it together all right now you're hurting this guy you're hurting
00:44:49this guy every time you hit him okay all right every time you hit him that shot i want you finishing
00:44:53with this guy watch on the inside this is the left hand right here of lascado he's going to take this
00:44:59and turn it up and use his height and leverage with a phenomenal uppercut to the chin of the
00:45:05former champion and that is a vicious punch ladies and gentlemen that punch will take the
00:45:10structure out of there take those all night long you want to put a broken jaw better pull the trunks
00:45:14down that's way too high well he agrees with us the trunks are way too high and they're pulling them down
00:45:20now for the first time but now around eight what happened to us supposed to be for the first time
00:45:25the vasquez corner overcompensating just a bit after the trunks were sliding down
00:45:30right was they had the time they had the cup like six inches over the trunks
00:45:37well as freddie rose said to los canals you're hurting him with every punch now finish him off let's
00:45:42see if he can here in round eight it's not easy to finish off for a friend and he's always dangerous not
00:45:47only not that easy but also you don't want to give the young guy the green light to waste all his
00:45:51energy and maybe get taken to school in the last two or three rounds
00:45:57of course we saw what happened a couple of weeks ago with ben tacky he was behind all night long
00:46:03and out of nowhere scored a knockout now that was a thoroughly surprising fight because he was
00:46:09whipped every which way yeah against roberto garcia see vasquez does not have the firepower to win
00:46:17this fight going backwards he has to be coming forward but he cannot deal with the strength and
00:46:21pressure and the pace that this kind of setting it's just too much for the 39 year old former champion
00:46:28the thing i like about lascano he doesn't take a round off he just keeps coming at you like right here
00:46:35another low
00:46:39break
00:46:40he's doing the shoulder but very lightly now i mean that was almost working work
00:46:52he's been warned on several occasions for that he's just doing a tap dance off the head of vasquez
00:46:58he's so effortless when he throws at him he's just he throws one all of a sudden six punches have gone by
00:47:05does he remind you of anybody
00:47:09right right now all i can say the kind of work he does is what kind of work monzon did with that long
00:47:15sticking left jab monzon used to be long and tall like this take your part oh there's that floyd patterson
00:47:21right hand again it's a beautiful counter right hand lazy jab out by vasquez right hand right on the
00:47:27button over the top it just comes out of nowhere like a slingshot
00:47:35you know right here when lascano wants to take a rest there's really nothing vasquez can do about it
00:47:42well i think he's taken advantage of his size greatly it's the first time i've seen a real tall
00:47:47fighter really taking advantage of his size you know he didn't get down with him he used it and
00:47:53now vasquez has no way to come in every time he comes in he gets clocked that's kind of long lean
00:47:59rangy and powerful he's got all the attributes missed with that left hook
00:48:06not with those lefts peppering the head of vasquez
00:48:11break
00:48:17as kansas game but he is behind
00:48:35coming up next our main event andrew galata or la norris in a non-title bout
00:48:39and how about this you talk about relaxed maybe he's rehearsing don't even say that the dressing room
00:48:51of former wba cruiserweight champ orland norris making final preparations for his fight since the
00:48:58controversial dope contest with mike tyson in late october steve a lot of fighters do that in dressing
00:49:03like i could never do that i was too i was too crazy thanks your jab set everything up okay all right
00:49:07and then get your combinations off all right all right you see when you roll with the shots on the
00:49:11inside buddy you watch this right hand counter lazy jab doesn't bring it back high right hand right in
00:49:17his face almost instantly can't bring that hand back low against the kid with this much strength and speed
00:49:25i'm reminded lascano's camp told us yesterday that we're going to make vasquez fight three full minutes
00:49:33of every round and they've done exactly that time give me a towel towel
00:49:39day nady will do a little housekeeping a lot of moisture and it gets really slippery on the canvas
00:49:48where the logo is box we've seen that happen before a little bit of water hits that paint you go flying
00:49:57it's awfully slick in there and there is water cascading off the trunks of vasquez
00:50:02beautiful tap final up by a straight right by lascano the pace is just too much the punch is too many
00:50:15at 39 years old vasquez cannot deal with this much all at once it's too much fun
00:50:23he's been forced for the first five six rounds seven rounds to fight for his life he's not going
00:50:28to have much left punishing shots he's got hurt just then oh there goes vasquez he's in trouble
00:50:33look at this barrage jade 80 looking very closely they want to stop the fight it's over it's over
00:50:41it's over this corner stopped the fight see they got up on the apron and put all through it
00:50:45and i think that was right alex matos was looking to stop the fight and it's all academic the corner
00:50:54knows the fighter best if he's in that much trouble they know him they've been with him for 20
00:50:57years and nowhere to go he's losing the fight totally and he was in desperate trouble just then at
00:51:03that age that's when the damage comes in at 39 they stopped it and 24 year old juan lascano delivering
00:51:12quite an assault to the head of wilfredo vasquez ending matters here in round nine and he is the new
00:51:18nabf lightweight champion and vasquez looking to shake it off what a barrage to
00:51:27in the fight lascano a rising star i think that is exactly the word a rising star that guy showed
00:51:36me an awful lot very very impressed with him nice smile on the face of vasquez saying he's all right
00:51:47lascano blowing kisses to the crowd changing of the guard youth versus experience right here so much
00:51:54strength lascano all over raining blows on his head there you saw the little wobble and lascano lands
00:52:00the right barely able to stand up without the ropes he probably goes down twice the champion former
00:52:06but the fighting reflex the frontal vasquez has to be admired here's another look at it that right
00:52:21hand's what started it the head is just the head is running all over the place without the legs
00:52:27vasquez doesn't have his legs under his head is snapping back like he's in a car accident
00:52:30and lascano just continually throwing even when he's not off balance but everything landing referee
00:52:37having no choice but to stop it after the cornermen jump on the ring vasquez's head looking like one of
00:52:42those auto testing dummies those accident dummies here's an overhead look see the head snap in the legs
00:52:48buckle delayed reaction there again the head snapping again
00:52:53vasquez can't get his feet under him they're sliding out from under him if it's not for the ropes he's in the front row
00:52:57youth versus age and experience youth wins tonight lascano making vasquez into a human rag doll
00:53:07juan lascano about 15 years younger than wilfredo vasquez defeats the aging wilfredo
00:53:15who is coming to the end of a tremendous career that includes three world titles lascano a hot
00:53:20lightweight prospect lifting his record to 23 2-1 now with 17 knockouts lascano was ahead
00:53:27we were in the ninth round was kind of after eight ahead 78 74 79 73 and 80 to 72 quite authoritative
00:53:37let's go up for the official word from our ring announcer jimmy lenny ladies and gentlemen we have
00:53:42the time of 59 seconds in round number nine our referee in charge jay nady stops the contest and the
00:53:49winner by way of technical knockout and now the nabf lightweight champion juan lascano
00:54:06so juan lascano makes it nine in a row vasquez falls to 52-9 and free lascano looking to get closer to a
00:54:14title shot what's on the horizon well he didn't offer any definite plans but says he's ready to
00:54:19take bigger jumps at this point he should certainly uh crack the top 10 rankings with this victory over
00:54:24the three-time world champion wilfredo lasquez lascano with a trainer freddie roach a very very happy man
00:54:32we'll see tremendous job by the 24-year-old lascano who will take that belt back proudly to sacramento
00:54:42california the home of so many outstanding fighters over the years bring them over
00:54:47coming up next as we've mentioned it's galata versus norris our main event wbc number 10 ranked
00:55:02contender andrew galata set to go against former wba cruiserweight champion orlin norris
00:55:09and we'll take you backstage into the dressing room of poland's andrew galata now living in chicago
00:55:15recently bounced back from a 10th round tko loss to michael grant with an overwhelming third round
00:55:20technical knockout over journeyman marcus rhodi in china sent rhodi to the canvas twice in both the
00:55:25second and third before it was stopped tonight he should have more formidable opposition as he takes
00:55:30on orlin norris let's go to tim smith in the ring tim steve i'm standing here with uh juan lascano
00:55:38wow juan that was some fight um talk about the knockdown talk about the knockout
00:55:45how did you set it up uh my corner kept telling me that you know the guy was tired so uh you know
00:55:53i told him i'm gonna put the pressure this ground and i did you know okay here's it we're looking at
00:55:58the mock the knockout on the monitor right here talk about what's going on here okay i hit him with a
00:56:04right and i wobbled him so i went after him you could tell he was sort of hurt here when when you hit him
00:56:09with the you sort of set up with the left hook right right on the button yeah yeah you know as
00:56:14you can see i set him up with the hook and then it went to the body so okay your goal coming into the
00:56:20fight you wanted to make him fight for a full three minutes yeah and it looked like pretty much that's
00:56:25what you were able to do yeah that's what i was trying to do without getting crazy and uh you
00:56:30know we managed to do that did he hit you with anything that hurt you tonight yeah he caught me
00:56:35with a couple of punches but you know like any true champion uh you gotta take those those punches
00:56:41okay you opened the eyes of the world tonight uh probably a world ranking after this what's next on
00:56:48the horizon for lascato well you know we'd like to show them with um leja and possibly after that uh
00:56:55spread of football so you're looking at title opportunities here yeah okay very good
00:57:02back to you steve all right tim that's interesting because he was supposed to originally fight jesse
00:57:06james leja leja was injured he was cut badly during a sparring session in training for this fight so
00:57:12in step to wilfredo vasquez vasquez replacing leja and losing here in the ninth round at the hands
00:57:20of juan lascano let's see what the future holds for a great former champion wilfredo vasquez as we
00:57:25send it back up to the ring and tim smith thanks steve here with the real fader vasquez uh it seemed
00:57:33like his conditioning was fine uh for the fight but was it a matter of age catching up i mean it looked
00:57:39like the reflexes were not there the power wasn't there okay he said that he first would like to
00:58:07say hello to his family he thinks that the problem he had was with his weight and then he took a fight
00:58:13because he thinks it was a preparation for him to find 130 and 135 and in his weight can you uh
00:58:21ask him what he's going to do next what's the next step for him
00:58:24he said he's going down to 130 in his pound and he's going to try to look for a title in that in that
00:58:41week okay very good back to you steve all right tim let's check out the online scoring results from our
00:58:50opening bout and there it is a shutout for juan lascano nine zip if you took part we thank you for
00:58:56your participation the online voting will continue with the start of our main event certainly worth
00:59:04looking at that barrage that knockout of the ninth round by juan lascano courtesy of bobby chase
00:59:12well here you see juan lascano on the left he has got wilfredo vasquez in trouble his feet are squared
00:59:20here he's not in position the right hand lands here takes his head wobbles it he throws the left hooks
00:59:26comes into the body again as we roll the tape it swings him all the way around the ropes here comes
00:59:31the right hand that starts the trouble and he just keeps on firing then he'll start to work from all the
00:59:36way around the corner where he's losing his footing and just getting rocked his head is getting hit with
00:59:41every shot here you see his feet come out with him some of the shots missed but the clean shots were just
00:59:47too much i think the age was a factor not just the punches but so many punches rained down so cleanly
00:59:53then the body shots the corner saw fit to stop it the referee i believe was on the verge anyway
00:59:59and that was that a star is born
