00:00Thank you very much.
00:02Thank you very much.
00:04Thank you very much.
00:06Thank you very much.
00:08Thank you very much.
00:14Ladies and gentlemen, I see a lot of familiar faces today.
00:16I believe I am the last speaker.
00:18Am I?
00:20I am.
00:22Okay.
00:24Do you want me to keep it short or long?
00:26.
00:28Medium, medium.
00:32At least someone is honest.
00:34Excellencies, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.
00:38Over the past two days, it has been a hectic two days.
00:42We have witnessed remarkable convergence of ideas, a lot of debates,
00:48and of course, when you debate, you also reflect on what has happened.
00:52My deepest appreciation to Bloomberg and to all of you who are here,
00:57who are supporting this conference for convening this summit in Kuala Lumpur.
01:01At the moment, there is nothing short of pivotal for Malaysia and ASEAN.
01:07As we draw this gathering to a close, one message rings clear.
01:11ASEAN is not waiting for the world to change.
01:15We are shaping it.
01:17And so these sessions have reminded us vividly and powerfully that this ASEAN block of 680 million people,
01:27we have dynamic economies and boundless digital energy, is no longer just a growth story.
01:34So, in fact, we are the story.
01:38A region that continues to defy the global headwinds and charts its own cause.
01:44You know, cause of resilience, renewal, as well as relevance.
01:50So, for us, especially when I attended the Bloomberg Summit,
01:54it was here last night, and we heard the Prime Minister's speech,
01:57you know, I would like to say thank you to those who made this possible,
02:00through the partnership, of course, CIMB Group, Zetrix, NYTL,
02:05and has reaffirmed that Malaysia's ASEAN Championship is not a ceremonial title.
02:10It is a mandate to lead.
02:12And we will lead the change.
02:14We will lead through courage, clarity and conviction.
02:19So, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
02:21one message rang loud and clear from this summit.
02:25So, when you talk about sustainability, it's no longer just a checkbox.
02:29It's a competitive edge.
02:31Across boardrooms and factory floors, the ESG conversation has evolved
02:36from compliance to impact and from obligation to opportunity.
02:41The dialogue on Asia's ESG moment captured this shift with precision.
02:48If you look at ESG, it now drives capital flows, trade decisions,
02:52and even corporate behaviour.
02:55And Malaysia's own journey reflects this transformation.
02:59We have the Green Investment Strategy, the National Industrial Master Plan,
03:03the IESG framework, and of course, the Net Energy Transition Roadmap as well.
03:08So, we are not just building a greener economy.
03:11We want to build a smarter one as well.
03:14So, an economy where investors, innovators, and industries collaborate
03:18to deliver sustainability that is not only ethical but also profitable.
03:24So, it's time to move beyond net zero promises toward net positive outcomes.
03:31So, the private sector holds the key to this shift from incremental change to transformative impact.
03:38So, I hope this summit has sparked the partnerships and bold thinking needed to accelerate this journey.
03:45The message on technology and AI is equally clear.
03:49So, we've moved from hype to impact.
03:51And ASEAN cannot afford to remain passive when we talk about global innovation, especially consumers.
03:58We must be co-creators, designing, deploying, and owning the technologies.
04:04And these technologies, of course, will shape our future.
04:09And the session on AI for ASEAN reminded us that our digital journey must reflect who we are – diverse, inclusive, and forward-looking.
04:19And this spirit is alive in initiatives like the Malaysia-China AI Innovation Centre,
04:25the ASEAN's Digital Economic Framework Agreement, which tend to be a game-changer for regional integration and digital sovereignty.
04:34Our partners, Zetrick and YTL, underscored a vital truth.
04:39Digital growth is impossible without digital infrastructure.
04:43So, data centres, connectivity, and digital identity are not just technical enablers.
04:49They are instruments of sovereignty, trust, and long-term competitiveness.
04:54In Malaysia, we are positioning ourselves as a regional hub for AI and digital innovation,
05:00not by chasing trends but by investing in talent, strengthening governance,
05:05and also ensuring that technology remains in service of humanity, not the other way around.
05:12This is our North Star – innovation with integrity and progress with purpose.
05:19But innovation cannot thrive without capital.
05:22So, the session led by our partner, CIMB, on unlocking capital for ASEAN was a timely reminder
05:29the scale of our ambitious demands, not just more investment but smarter, more catalytic capital.
05:37We must reimagine finance as a force multiplier for inclusive, sustainable growth.
05:43And to power ASEAN's transformation, we must infuse innovation with inclusion,
05:49mobilising public-private capital, public-private partnership, green finance, and blended capital as catalytic engines of change.
05:58So, as Malaysia advances our sustainable agenda, especially when it comes to CIMB's sustainable finance agenda,
06:07we invite global investors to see ASEAN not merely as a destination for returns,
06:13but as a partner in building shared prosperity with purpose.
06:17So, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
06:20Malaysia's chairmanship this year steered ASEAN towards a future that is inclusive, sustainable, and competitive.
06:27But leadership is not about dominance, but rather direction.
06:31As Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said recently,
06:34the relative peace and prosperity that ASEAN has enjoyed for nearly six decades are not self-sustaining.
06:42They must be renewed through cooperation and strengthened by shared purpose.
06:47This is why ASEAN is deepening economic linkages, widening trade, and enhancing competitiveness.
06:54He mentioned it during the opening of the ASEAN Summit.
06:58And we are here to connect, not to compete, to collaborate, not collide.
07:04So, guided by the spirit of Bandhani, of balance, empathy, and justice,
07:08Malaysia will continue to anchor a stable, coherent, and prosperous ASEAN.
07:13And we remain, without question, one of the most compelling launchpads into this region's bright future.
07:21So, to the business leaders, thinkers, and innovators gathered here,
07:25see ASEAN not as a patchwork of markets, but as a collective of possibilities.
07:32This region has become a repository of global hopes and of our people's aspirations.
07:38So, together, let's turn ambition into action and aspiration into achievement.
07:45Because, as many of you will agree, when ASEAN prosper, the world follows.
07:51So, finally, my heartfelt thanks to Bloomberg for being a trusted partner in telling ASEAN's story to the world.
07:59A story still unfolding and one we are proud to share and also to help shape.
08:07I warmly invite each of you to be part of this journey because the ASEAN story is not just ours to tell,
08:16it's ours to build together.
08:19So, terima kasih. Thank you.
08:26Have a great day.
