00:00You're feeling confident right now, voting against this, that the American people are going to blame Republicans if there's a shutdown?
00:05I think one thing is, this is about one thing. This is about the cost of health care and helping people out.
00:10And I think we're going to make it very clear, as we did today, this is a very easy thing to do, which is to help get people's health care costs down.
00:18So if the premiums came in, you would see yourself potentially voting yes?
00:22That's what we're expecting here, if they step up and do something on the premiums.
00:25And if they do that and help people out with premium costs, I think you're going to have a lot of good conversations.
00:28If those go away, everyone, even if you have private insurance, is going to see a 20% increase.
00:33So this is a negotiation. We're willing to come back tomorrow.
00:36We're willing to come back next week and give us those subsidies.
00:40We probably will have to find some Democratic votes, but I think you'll find those votes to pass it.
00:45We can't be participating in funding a government that is canceling vaccines, that is militarizing the streets,
00:51that is threatening private businesses for their free speech, that is engaging in the kind of health care cuts that we have.
00:59So they have the majority. They can pass the budget. We just can't be complicit in it.
01:04I don't want the government to shut down. I think that would be terrible for the American people.
01:07But the instructions that Republicans were given from the administration is,
01:11Don't work with the Democrats. Don't talk to the Democrats. Don't make any deal with the Democrats.
01:15And so, look, I hope it doesn't happen. I hope we can make some sort of deal.
01:18I hope we can save people's health insurance.
