00:00The Democratic Policy and Communications Committee is providing independent journalist Don Lemon with a congressional staff escort so he can live stream his show from Capitol Hill.
00:11The DPCC staff members are allowing Lemon into places he wouldn't otherwise be permitted because he doesn't have a credential.
00:18Lemon streamed his show for nearly three hours Tuesday afternoon.
00:21During that time, he broke multiple rules that credentialed journalists must follow.
00:25For instance, he followed members of Congress up the stairs and he live streamed from the cafeteria.
00:30He even admitted at the end of his show that he doesn't know if he'll be allowed to do it again.

00:43Journalists on Capitol Hill were perplexed by the arrangement.
00:46They've never seen Democratic staff members facilitating a journalist show before.
00:51Lemon told us he's trying to get credentialed through the Senate press gallery.
00:54I was just wondering, how come you weren't able to get a credential?
00:57We're not here all the time.
00:58Oh, you're not here all the time?
00:58We come in and out, yeah.
00:59We're independent media, so we go in and out.
01:02Did you know that Speaker Johnson asked the press gallery to try to help more independent people just like you get a credential?

01:10The DPCC staffer who's escorting you, is there an agreement of any type to put out a certain type of content for that?
01:17No.

01:18We tell them who we want to interview and that's it.

01:25SCN reached out to the DPCC and asked if Lemon is paying for the staff member's time or if they've ever facilitated other journalist shows before.
