00:00The Mets have been looking for an eighth inning guy, and they got their man, Tyler Rodgers from

00:04the San Francisco Giants. Bit of a surprise. His name wasn't really on the board because we all

00:09thought that the Giants were buyers, not sellers. They bought Rafael Devers. After all, that's a

00:14pretty big buy. But obviously, they've struggled since they did make that Devers deal. The worst

00:19record in baseball since that deal, and now they are around 500. So they decided to pivot and sell

00:27for the Mets. It's a big get for this year. He is a rental. Rodgers is in side armor with

00:34great stuff, great success, having a terrific season, 1-8-0 ERA, but the Mets did pay a very

00:41heavy price. Blade Tidwell, right-hander, who has been a good pitcher in the minors, came

00:46up with a couple starts with the Mets this year. Drew Gilbert, not having a great year,

00:50but is a decent prospect. And Jose Budo, who's been kind of up and down with the Mets, but

00:55certainly has a good arm. So the Mets gave up a pretty decent price here for a rental

01:01pitcher. But Tyler Rodgers does fit the bill. He is a good eighth-inning man, and he does

01:06improve their team.
