00:00The Cubs have traded with the Marlins, giving up one of the better prospects in baseball,
00:05outfielder Owen Casey, as part of a three-prospect deal to get Edward Cabrera, the right-handed,
00:11very talented right-handed pitcher of the Marlins. It was a player the Yankees had
00:15interest in. They had talked quite a bit to the Marlins. They talked to the Marlins about
00:19several players, but clearly Cabrera was of great interest to them. They want to add another
00:24starting pitcher, knowing that Carlos Rodon is kind of scheduled to come back about May 1st
00:31from his elbow surgery. They hope Garrett Cole by maybe June 1st from his elbow surgery and Clark
00:36Schmidt in the second half. They have enough starters, if everyone were healthy right now,
00:41to kind of get through until May 1st, June 1st in the second half, but that's depending and acting
00:47like no one else will get hurt because they'd have to depend on Paul Blackburn, Ryan Yarborough,
00:52Will Warren, Cam Schlittler for a whole season, Max Freed coming back from a heavy workload,
00:57the heaviest of his career, Luis Heal as a constantly injured pitcher. The key thing for
01:02the Yankees has been they've been trying to bring back Cody Bellinger. They're still trying to do that.
01:07I think they believe the number is way too high for them, and if Cody Bellinger can get that number,
01:12then he's going to leave, and the Yankees are either going to find another way to get an outfielder
01:18or Rabat, or they're going to live with Jason Dominguez and ultimately maybe Spencer Jones in left field.
