00:00The Mets have been playing terrible baseball since the second week of the season.
00:04It's been hard to watch. It's becoming increasingly hard to watch.
00:08It's a terrible product.
00:10There's a lot of people to blame, starting with that guy right there, Steve Cohen.
00:13He signs the checks.
00:14You know, his lieutenant isn't doing so great either, David Stearns.
00:19I mean, he's maybe the least popular man in all of New York sports.
00:23Unfortunately, Carlos Mendoza is the manager.
00:25And when things go south for a baseball team, it's the manager who almost always pays the price.
00:30The owner's not going to fire himself.
00:32And frankly, it's harder to believe that he's going to uproot the entire organization, which is what firing Stearns would
00:40involve.
00:42And look, I can't imagine he's going to be happy with the idea of empty seats littering his ballpark as
00:48early as June for what was supposed to be a big year at the gate for him,
00:53certainly the 40th anniversary of the 86 Mets.
00:55And if you're languishing at a 100 loss pace, you know, you have to at least try something.
00:59And sadly, you know, I don't know that Mendoza deserves to be fired.
01:03I don't think he does.
01:04But the fact of the matter is that someone's going to have to pay the price for this,
01:07and it's not going to be the owner.
01:09He's not going to fire himself.
01:10He's not going to fire himself.
01:14He's not going to fire himself.
