00:14which is really weird for us.
00:16It is really weird, man.
00:17Throws me off a little, but that's okay.
00:18I'm going to end up in Pennsylvania
00:20talking to some of the fastest people on Earth
00:23with the fastest cars on Earth.
00:25And it's not these.
00:30All right, Willie, man.
00:37What did you think?
00:38This is actually the first time I've driven.
00:39I've been in a Tesla, but driven one.
00:41What was your thoughts?
00:42Well, I've driven a couple of them.
00:45They're fast, man.
00:46You've got to respect how fast they are.
00:47And torquey.
00:48Yeah, this isn't the performance model,
00:50but still, man, how do you make these faster?
00:53I don't know, a three-mile extension cord?
00:54I don't know.
00:55They don't really need to be faster.
00:57That's the crazy part about it.
00:58What they do need, though, is a little bit of paint work.
01:02We're going to do a little bit of ceramic coating.
01:04Right.
01:05Really protect that paint.
01:07And, you know, sometimes you really want to put in the elbow grease
01:10to do all the prep.
01:11And then that ceramic coating looks good, lasts longer.
01:14We don't want to.
01:15No, we don't want to either.
01:16So we're going to work out a little barter with our buddy Tom from Cerakote.
01:19Yes.
01:20So let's get him in here, and we'll talk through how to put on ceramic coating on your paint.
01:28All right, we brought in our man.
01:30This is Tom from Cerakote, man.
01:31This guy is the wizard when it comes to this modern-day ceramic coatings, right?
01:37It is confusing, man, because remember, back in the day,
01:39you would get the rubbing compound and the wax and the pad,
01:42and it really would be like that Karate Kid scenario, you know?
01:44And a couple weeks later, you're doing it all again.
01:47Exactly, man.
01:48But now we're talking years.
01:49Yeah.
01:50Yes, absolutely.
01:51Years, three to five years, 1,000 car washes is what that's gross.
01:551,000 car washes.
01:56That's going to last me my lifetime.
01:58Walk us through.
01:59So what's the difference between the two products?
02:01And then, obviously, there's a lot of prep,
02:03depending on which way you're going to go.
02:05Absolutely.
02:05So your Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant is kind of your three to five-month protection.
02:10So if you're in a hurry, you don't want to spend hours and hours of doing paint corrections,
02:14that's going to be the best option for you.
02:16You're going to get a 50-wash guarantee with that product.
02:19Now, that could last you, obviously, a year or two for 50 washes on your car,
02:23or it could last somebody three to four months.
02:26And then you just reapply that, give you that extreme gloss, slickness,
02:29and that water behavior that you're looking for.
02:31And this is a great DIY.
02:32There's no room to get into trouble, not a lot of prep other than cleaning the car.
02:37You're absolutely right.
02:37Make it look good, protect it.
02:39All right, well, we saw you roll up at another Tesla.
02:42Yeah.
02:42Looks like it's got some miles on it.
02:44I know you travel around a lot, so there might be some opportunities for us to do a little
02:49maintenance, upgrades.
02:51How about we tackle a couple of things that we noticed were wrong with that,
02:54and we let you, the professional, bust out a little DIY paint prep on this guy
02:59and get this looking perfect.
03:01How about that?
03:01A little trade-off?
03:02I like that.
03:03All right.
03:03Let's do it.
03:04We like that, too.
03:07All right, we're going to do the professional paint coating route.
03:09As we talked about, right, it's all about that prep.
03:12Now, anybody who's done paint correction know exactly what's going on here.
03:15But for anybody else, right, some of the things we're going to try to get rid of is you can
03:19see some of these little marks and rubs and imperfections and why seal that in permanently
03:24when we can take it out.
03:25Absolutely.
03:25And polishing it, doing either a one-step or a two-step, really allows that paint to not only pop,
03:31gets rid of all of those imperfections, but really what we're trying to do is have a good base for that
03:37pro-ceramic to get laid down on.
03:38Now, you've already done some prep on here.
03:40Why don't you walk us through and then what we're going to happen next?
03:42Absolutely.
03:43So I've washed the car completely, and then while I was washing it, I went ahead and I used this clay bar mitt,
03:48and I went over the entire surface of the car to get rid of any contamination that may be stuck to it
03:53that maybe you don't hear or see or feel.
03:57Once I've done that, now I have gotten the car completely dry, and there's no water drippings or anything.
04:02Now we're ready for the paint correction.
04:04Sounds like we are ready to start the compound.
04:06Sounds good to me.
04:07All right.
04:23This is why we have Tom on, because this thing now looks better than any Tesla brand new off the line, by far.
04:30All right.
04:31Cool.
04:31So after you've done the polishing, I noticed you did a little bit of eraser.
04:35Yes.
04:35Which is essentially just an alcohol?
04:37It's an isopropyl alcohol, 70% grade.
04:42You don't need the 100%, 70%.
04:44And really what you're trying to do is you're just trying to remove that compound that I left on there from doing that paint correction.
04:49Any oils, anything like that.
04:50Now you have a clean, perfect surface.
04:52Yes.
04:53We're ready to do the coating.
04:54We are sure.
04:54All right.
04:55Well, we're going to come back after a break and walk you through all the steps of the coating.

05:38I have been blessed with this car for seven years now.
05:42It's very special to me because it's an exact replica of my father's first Cadillac.

06:32I hope you have many more cruises, many more outings in it.
06:36And I hope those mice never come back to that protected area again.

06:52We got our 2024 Tesla Model 3.
06:55Now, this thing's in pretty good condition.
06:57Tom's done a bang-up job getting this thing looking better than right out of the factory.
07:01From a cleanup standpoint, now we're ready to apply the professional-grade ceramic paint
07:05coating.
07:06Absolutely.
07:07So we're going to grab the Professional Pro Paint here.
07:10I'm going to go ahead and apply it to the provided Twinkie, as I call it.
07:15So I'm just going to put some coating on here and get a nice, good layer of coating.
07:20And I'm going to go and work in quadrants on this hood.
07:25So I'm going to do it probably in two sections.
07:27Okay.
07:27Just so I can get that 50% overlap, and I can also get that cross-hatch.
07:32And you're really watching for that beading action of that coating.
07:36If you leave it on too long, that's where professionals know exactly how long it's going
07:40to take in their respected area, whether it's Florida or it's Oregon.
07:45And that beading action can create you to have to go back to step one.
07:51And step one is you've left it on too long.
07:53That beading actually hardens on the surface of the paint.
07:56Now you have to go back and paint correct.
07:58And then ready to work the next section?
08:00Absolutely.
08:02It's a good recommendation to do sort of another skim layer on top.
08:07And that's your sort of rapid ceramic paint sealant, right?
08:10Yes, absolutely.
08:11What is that one doing?
08:12So really what that's doing is that's going to be like your maintenance coating for long-term.
08:17So you've already done your professional pro ceramic on here.
08:20It's going to last a thousand washes.
08:22That's your base, hard layer, super protective, lasts forever.
08:25But this is going to put a little sheen on top.
08:27Just puts that little sheen on top.
08:29And more than anything, it's going to bring back that slickness.
08:31So you're going to always have that water behavior, but the slickness goes away from washing,
08:35from soaps, anything that, you know, foreign substance that's in the air.
08:39So we've carefully misted some water on here.
08:42And it's hard not for it to beat up.
08:45But I want to show you a little trick.
08:47So, yes, we're going to attempt to dry the car.
08:51Dry the car with water.
08:52With water.
08:53Look at the way that just shakes right off of there.
09:03Wow.
09:04So talk about not leaving residues right after rains, everything just shedding.
09:10Yes.
09:10And it'll actually keep up with washing your car.
09:14It's not going to take as much effort with having these products applied.
09:18Fantastic, man.
09:18This is the way to go.

09:31Here is our repair for the Tesla hubcap.
09:33Obviously, this little plastic piece.
09:35They don't hold up very well.
09:36These always break off.
09:37So how do you repair plastic?
09:39We just rely on our friends from JB Weld.
09:41Now, this is JB Weld Clear Weld.
09:43Love this stuff.
09:44It comes in a bunch of different sizes.
09:45So you have the static mixer on a little 14 milliliter.
09:48Now, this is just going to go mix these two as it gets down here to this nozzle.
09:52And this is going to allow us just to apply a little bit right here, a little bit on the
09:56Boston shoulder, and just shove that thing right back in place.
09:59Honestly, God, I just used this to repair a lawnmower wheel.
10:02I broke the center out of my push mower wheel.
10:05I used a bunch of this stuff to fix it.
10:06It was back cutting the grass in no time flat.
10:08So it's really versatile.
10:10You can use it to repair just about any plastic or anything like that.
10:12It sets up in five minutes, cures in an hour.
10:15Now you can come back and put a little bit more on the end, and you're set.
10:18And there you have it.
10:19I'm going to let this set up for about five minutes or so.
10:22That's all it takes.
10:23Put this hubcap back on, and this repair is done.
10:27Boom.
10:28Like a glove.
10:29All right.
10:29Got that repaired.

11:33This truck is absolutely beautiful.
11:35We love the truck.
11:37So it's no secret that I'm old, but we know what's old is new again.
11:42And Pro Street is on the comeback.
11:44So what better to build than a 77 C10 Pro Streeter?
11:50And that's what we're doing for SEMA.
11:52Imagine, right?
11:53You have something hanging out of the hood.
11:55Say, I don't know, this high, this high, wherever it's going to land.
11:59But that's going to be exciting for everybody, especially you guys, especially the reason
12:04they're building it.
12:06You know, that's really the most important thing.
12:08CRC, Build for the Future, is what this project's all called.
12:13And it provides 10 scholarships for kids learning to work with their hands.
12:18And that's what made me and him want to get involved.
12:21And we love that.
12:22And I was there when we auctioned off the GTO.
12:24I got to meet the kids.
12:26It changed their lives.
12:27Absolutely.
12:28You know what I mean?
12:28It's just an amazing thing.

13:07So what we're looking at here, Willie, the bottom part of this is a Edelbrock Pat Musi 555 crate engine
13:15that makes 676 horsepower on a single carburetor on pump gas, but then we lost our mind, didn't we?
13:24Well, we went ahead with the blower shop blower with the twin Edelbrock carburetors.
13:29This thing made 904 horsepower, 843 foot-pounds of torque.
13:34On pump gas.
13:35Pump gas.
13:36Hydraulic camshaft.
13:38You know what it is?
13:39Instant torque and instant tire smoke.
13:42That's right.
13:43Let's hear it.

20:42So basically, you can turn this into a dead pedal.
