00:00hey gang welcome to the show not today is gonna be wild man this is a first for us ever on this
00:13show yeah not saying that the 67 mustang you're seeing right now is a first it needs little work
00:18been sitting for a long time but we got a big surprise this yeah check this out if you look
00:22under the hood what see some of those big orange wires when we got an ev conversion going on in a
00:27muscle car stick around i'll be honest guys i'm not sure what to think about this an electric muscle
00:41car right all right wrap your head around this because right here looks like a traditional
00:47resto mod you got a nice little four nine inch you got coilovers big brakes you got a four link setup
00:52like things back here this is sweet the way it is you got your frame rail connectors and we got a
00:57modern subframe we got rack and pinion steering ifs the coil over is the whole bit but this one
01:04is going to be set up different because everyone has a different taste different likes different
01:08flavors so we got kevin here from e-muscle now these guys which really cool is like in today's world
01:14you've got always producing evs you got some diyers piecing some stuff together a lot of it's pretty
01:20sketchy maybe not even safe or you have guys like kevin at e-muscle cars doing the whole kit for you
01:26yeah putting the package together making it safe making it simple right so and you guys are focusing
01:31on like from a like a crate engine kind of perspective where you have all that stuff the
01:36wiring and the harness like you're picking some of the top models out there like some of the favorites
01:40some classics yes we're starting off with some of the most popular you know muscle car and classic
01:45car models corvettes mustangs camaros so instead of your traditional crate motor drop-in we have to have
01:51a crate motor electric drop-in you know it truly is a crate motor yeah yeah all right well there's
01:58a whole lot of stuff here that's going to be new for all of us so we're going to pick kevin's brain
02:02here i think we got to take some of this gear maybe lay it out and walk through what it is that makes
02:07up an ev what you guys bring to the table and how it might go in this thing that would definitely make
02:12it more clear yeah all right let's do that guys it's gonna be interesting yeah
02:15all right so here it is it's crazy to think about this is the equivalent of a v6 or a v8 actually
02:24and look how small it is you can just give it a hug here's your motor inverter gearbox it's all right
02:29here this configuration right now is what 300 yeah right around 300 horsepower and you have just
02:36slight changes you can make this same package into 500 just over 500 yep and so we've got this set up
02:42here and then we've got a couple other pieces over here correct so yeah inside these boxes
02:46we've got the batteries we've got the battery management systems the wiring the cell taps that
02:50can monitor the temperatures and the cell resistance and the voltage of each individual cell inside the
02:55battery that's something else i'm seeing too is you've got a whole frame here right weight distribution
03:00think about that because batteries weigh a lot if you're you know heavy in the front right you can start
03:05to 50 50 that car out a little bit better than what it was from the factory every car we can kit we
03:10build we try to even out the weight a little better than we found it i think we've got to start
03:13building something right so where should we start packs power plant where's the best way to get going
03:18let's do with the motor all right i like it let's do it let's have some fun guys
03:21all right all right now we got our driveline fully connected it's time to add the juice now
03:42how much power watts what's going on in here so we offer a few different battery sizes for the car
03:48depending on your range the use of the car anywhere from 75 to 200 mile range all right and then this
03:54one has sort of a cage around it what's going on with that so all of our batteries you know safety
03:58comes first with an ev well with any car but especially with an ev so we design a collision
04:04barrier on any battery that's not within the frame so this battery is going obviously in the trunk area
04:10where the gas tank used to be these older vehicles don't have crumpled zones and some of the safety
04:14features that modern cars have so we design in a roll cage for the battery box also the battery
04:20boxes are isolated from the chassis by rubber bushings here in the frame and in the front of
04:24this cage so if you do happen to get a collision tweak your frame whatever you're not tweaking your
04:29battery box now it looks like you're using the rear spring perch here yeah so since yeah so since
04:34we've got the much upgraded rear suspension we've got a lot of room back here there's a lot of real
04:39estate remember this used to have leaf springs so they took those you know those identification
04:45holes right that's where they use some of these here so factory holes yeah structure points yeah
04:51and and locate where this tank is going to go where this fuel cell is going to go if you all
04:55right well let me lower the car down a little bit so then we can lift this up in there and get
04:58it installed right in we're going to take a quick break on the other side we're going to add juice to
05:02the front end our buddy tom racks up serious miles between detailing gigs in his 2024 tesla model y
05:12earlier this year willie and kevin did some slick upgrades to make life on the road easier but now
05:18tom's looking to improve his braking performance power stop has stepped up with their all-new ev35
05:26electric vehicle brake kit engineered specifically for evs like tom's the carbon fiber
05:32ceramic pads increase stopping power perfect for the heavier weight of evs ev specific shims help
05:40keep the brakes whisper quiet and these pads also include stainless steel hardware for a complete
05:47hassle-free installation the dual guard rotors are fnc treated to fight corrosion and keep the friction
05:54surfaces clean even after break-in an additional heat cured coating fights off rust on the rotor hat
06:01and in the cooling veins less corrosion means better stopping power and looks cleaner too finally the
06:08carbon fiber ceramic pad formulation produces less brake dust than stock that means less mess on tom's
06:17clean wheels this tech tip is brought to you by power stop brake upgrades made easy
06:23hey welcome back guys yes we're still in our mustang our very first e-muscle car which been pretty
06:35exciting for us 65 mustang gt 350 it's not don't worry we're not doing that uh it's a gt 350 clone uh we
06:44have our boy kevin from e-muscle cars dude this has been a pretty sweet package so we got the back button up
06:49dropped the battery in there right got all the driveline hooked up this is our motor now we're
06:54doing a battery in the front we talked about earlier that 50 50 weight you're always striving
07:00for that you're always trying to get that car more 50 50 balanced yes we got half the batteries already
07:04installed in the back yeah and the other box is exactly the other half going right in the front
07:08some of the bigger ones you've got to do smoky burnouts oh yeah roast them yeah well the so he keeps
07:13talking about horsepower which is good and that makes it you know close to the original horsepower of the car
07:18or a little more but the big number is the torque oh yeah so the electric motors make a lot of torque
07:22and they make it instantly so this motor makes about 370 foot pounds of torque at the motor but it's
07:28got at zero rpm zero right right which is a big block back in the day you know sooner but also the
07:35gearbox on is uh is a torque multiplier so it cranks that torque up by about three and then you go through
07:42the rear differential it's another three and a half four so i mean you're talking 4 000 foot pounds of
07:47torque here at the tire it's a bigger tire that's what i'm saying man wire tire for sure so we're
07:55gonna grab this pack we're gonna throw it up in the front here i see the four mounts down here
08:00like plug and play really simple and then from there i assume we're just making connections and
08:04plugging things together on the harness that you kind of rerouted for us yep exactly so the battery
08:08drops straight in and then we hook up the wires plug in some coolant and ready to go you got a mount that
08:14little hammer every system has a high voltage junction box it has the contractors housed in
08:19it and some of the logic that opens and closes the contractors to turn the motor on connect the
08:24batteries in the system it's kind of the muscle that connects all the electrical systems and you're in
08:30cool all right next is the battery connection and then latch there you go and we can plug our charger in
08:38that's in we can put our back battery up and plug this guy in all right so there you have it just like
08:49that a complete car build is done in an afternoon uh through the magic of tv we do that quite often but
08:56this is like real time it was amazing how quick it went together and you got a legit e-powered muscle car
09:05which is kind of mind-blowing for everybody to think about really cool it's all about putting
09:09the system together right that whole kind of e-crate kind of mentality now there's clearly some wiring
09:15things that you'd already had prepped but the bulk of the stuff yeah to kind of get in there we had a
09:20gutted rolling chassis you know earlier today and now we've got a fully populated drivetrain system you
09:26know with an even motor inverter charger right but it all came together really well man it's a really
09:32thought out platform kevin's got a few more things to button up and we're going to go take this for
09:36a test drive now we got a 67 mustang back there we're going to get running as well in the meantime
09:42we got a lot of cool hardware on here man as part of the whole restoration resto mod as it rolled in
09:48all the ifs the four link the brake hardware so we're going to lay that out so you can see it
09:53what's here on the ground
09:56all right now this is the goodies you can see a lot better than up in the car
10:00yeah man and it really it's unbelievable all this stuff is under that car and it's all from
10:06a great friends at mustangs to fear and let me tell you they send you everything all right now
10:11the front end this is great so they've got a whole front cross member this is set up for all
10:16the standard ford engines small block big block coyotes and maybe more to come and the way they
10:21position the engine and the transmission with the subframe you don't have to cut the tunnel or the
10:26floor pan let me repeat even with a 10r80 massive automatic you don't have to modify that floor
10:32pan then you come to the back this is where really you're planting that power yeah man imagine this
10:38right a lot of times when you're thinking an independent rear suspension right or something
10:42like you know like a four uh four link you're set up you're thinking oh i gotta weld i gotta cut i
10:47gotta do all this work man something like this is so easy because they've engineered everything for
10:52you you're gonna start a torque box find the spring perch right located here they got this u-shaped
10:5810-gauge steel really thick really robust and check this out no welding needed bolt bolt bolt bolt
11:04it goes right over the original frame rail so it goes right where it's supposed to go like i said no
11:09welding and thinking ahead where you got three mounts for the shock on the rear so you can change ride
11:14height super easy again they thought about everything uh and here's what's great about mustangs
11:20of fear not only have they thought about everything but you get it all complete you can get this rear
11:25end we got it delivered in the box just like this really it'd take you a day to swap out our rear end
11:31all right you know this is pretty awesome because you get to see everything that's in the car over
11:35there we don't have to install all these bits but we do have mustang to fear gear going in our 67
11:40hoop over here yeah it's gonna gas tank so we'll get all this cleaned up and get on that 67.
11:45here's this week's mouse blocker minute all right you guys check this out another mouse blocker minute
11:53my man todd here he lives out in colorado kind of like i do matter of fact he's even donated chevy
11:58blazer back to our cars for christmas program dude you're uh well aware of the well the damage that
12:04mice can cause man it's uh it's kind of brutal to be honest yeah they're they're those turds man uh
12:10it was a thermostat wire so my thermostat uh gauge quit working and then it was an oil sending unit
12:17oil gauge quit working but like i got a neighbor she uh was fifty six hundred dollars on her
12:24her truck had another neighbor twelve hundred another eight hundred we sent you some products
12:30like a month or so ago how has that worked how have you seen a big impact and difference oh yeah
12:36i i there's nothing anywhere in here and i i think that's even good because i got a little honda
12:41that i drive in the winter time and i think it's even loud enough that they're staying away from it
12:45thanks uh for spreading that mouse blocker word man it is a it's a great product and it has great results
12:51thanks to you guys at two guys garage thank you the mouse blocker and again thank you for choosing
12:56a humble guy like me i'm very blessed hey gang welcome back now man we've wrapped up pretty much
13:08that ev mustang we couldn't just leave it at that we brought in a gas one yeah man we got two mistakes
13:14in one show hey be nice some of us like mustangs we want to see how they stack up right 67 it's got a 302
13:21a t5 box really cool set up nice clean car and it's been sitting for about 10 years we've got a
13:27lot of fuel system and other things we want to look at now we've got a good friend of ours riley from
13:32riley rebuild speaking of girls not too far from us yeah man we got an idea kind of roped her in i
13:37don't know if she realizes what she's getting into but we figure look she is awesome with carburetors
13:42yeah we'll get her to knock out the front end we'll tackle the fuel tank in the rear and some lines
13:47and maybe meet somewhere in the middle right i like it all right as promised we got riley in
13:54thanks for coming in that's always awesome to see you and kind of glean on some of your expertise
13:59now uh you've got a whole carburetor rebuild like crew you guys rock them out all day every day
14:07how many people do you got working right now we have eight younger employees we have five girls and
14:12three boys that's awesome especially the young part because right we all want that generation to
14:17come in and love it just like we did all right so we're going to tear down this carburetor it's
14:20been sitting for about 10 years at some point it ran pretty good so what would you be concerned about
14:25most on this setup so a lot of concern would be the gunk of the ethanol gasoline but i heard that it
14:32was run with non-ethanol so there might not be as much gunk as we would assume would be in a carburetor
14:37a lot of times gaskets tend to dry up when it's sitting for too long all right now what do we got in
14:42the kit because normally kits right here have number of different parts for different configurations
14:46kind of generically in a box but you've already pulled out kind of what you think is going to go
14:51right in here a lot of them come with the gaskets so these are the biggest part of the kits these are
14:56what dry out and crack and really keep your carburetor together we have some seats and needles and we have
15:04a ball a square these go in to the squirter jet to help dial it in the air and gasoline and then we have
15:11some clips that will go on some of the linkages pretty good that's so easy
15:19you know as a car guy just kind of a side note because i'm supposed to be telling you about this
15:23fuel tank isn't it cool to see great welds you see welds like that you go oh that's nice all right
15:29let's get into it obviously it's a fuel tank for our 67 mustang but some unique features about this
15:35and guess where we got it from you bet mustangs to fear because why because they give you everything
15:41and i like because they kind of go above and beyond so let's talk about it here's your lip it's gonna
15:45fit right down in where the old factory tank was but you see some things really different all right
15:49it's got the center fill which is great but if you have like a le mans mustang or no mach one you want
15:55the side feel well they offer that as well it's got a fuel pump already in here what yeah 340 liters per
16:02hour now if you need something big performance wise when you order this fuel tank you just say hey
16:07give me something with two fuel pumps and great thing is easy in too look at my boy kevin over here
16:13this thing just drops in again this is exactly how it comes out of the box just like this pretty cool
16:19dude that thing is sweet
16:25when it comes to front wheel drive performance driveline balance matters and that's where track
16:29motor of intermediate shafts come into play yeah by equalizing cv axle links they reduce torque steer
16:35and vibration so you get a smoother power delivery and better handling under load plus they're built to
16:42last reducing angular misalignment these shafts spread the load out evenly which can extend the life
16:47of your axles joints and bearings and with a modular design many models come with pre-pressed bearings
16:53and brackets and it all adds up to oem ride quality with upgraded durability with these track motive
16:58shafts guys if you want killer bass in your classic ride without cutting and hacking you got to check out
17:05the backseat driver from custom autosound yeah the backseat driver comes with two eight inch subwoofers
17:11and has custom fits available for classics like you know the 69 camaro mustangs chevelles even the tri-five
17:18chevys and the 64 impala packed with premium subwoofers and a boss 800 watt amp that drops deep bass where
17:26you want it it maintains that classic look with modern sound the backseat driver just plugs in so you can
17:32rock on all right you guys looking for serious protection and performance from your oil well here's
17:38the two-step process you guys need step one that's hot chat secret stiction eliminator add it at your next
17:45oil change to deep clean your engine from the inside out it removes sticky varnish carbon deposits and
17:51restores compression reduces engine wear by over 60 percent it even helps quiet noisy engines and boost
17:58fuel economy then on your next two oil changes step two use fr3 friction reducer from hot shot secret
18:07it uses nano carbon technology to smooth internal surfaces and boost protection more horsepower better
18:13mileage and less wear what's not below all right riley's almost got that carburetor done so we better
18:25hurry it up now we got the tank just kind of mocked up in there but while we're there we're going to add
18:30a whole new element right a whole new thing that's kind of blowing my mind on how simple but
18:36awesomely effective it is technically you're going to remove an element that's true yeah that's true so
18:41you go out in your garage right and it smells like gas that's kind of normal he said gas gas not
18:47will it gas but just car gas that's your fuel tank venting just venting gas just evaporating out we can
18:54cap that off we can absorb it and keep that smell from coming out right so your car just sits there
18:59hangs out everybody's happy yeah man it's called vapor trapper it's unbelievable name one of the top
19:04products at sema and it does just that it traps all the vapors those gas vapors and eliminate them so you
19:10walk into your garage your shop your man cave whatever it doesn't smell like it doesn't smell
19:14like gas inside your classic car which you know for a fact you heard that complaint a million times
19:20so you want to get rid of the gas simply get you one of these vapor trapper they're really easy to
19:25install fits on every single if your car runs on gas this will fit it and here's the best part five six
19:32seven years down the road depends on really how much you drive the car start to get a whiff of gas again
19:37well all you got to do is just recharge the old charcoal you take the charcoal right spin this off
19:44dump the charcoal out put new charcoal in right boom it's reusable we'll show you how it's super simple
19:54you can mount the thing anywhere on any type of vehicle and all you do is you take the vent line
19:59you're running around you plug it into one side of the thing and the other side you then outside the car
20:05and all the venting still works but it traps the smell there you go amazing
20:19all right man first impression kind of what you would think like instant torque like really powerful
20:25really strong and then it's got that nice kind of cruising quietness except when we hit train tracks
20:31of course you know but from a ride standpoint yes on the one side you're probably missing out on the
20:35big rumbles but i think a lot of your customers or inquiries are from people that love that you know
20:42old classic car but they're not really the gearhead that wants to deal with leaky oil pans and valve
20:47gaskets and carburetor gummed up and exactly and you still get that muscle car drive feel it still is a
20:52pro touring you know classic muscle car yeah this thing is tight man it's like on rails yeah good
20:57suspension upgrade suspension it's got everything you want minus the rumble makes more torque than
21:02the original v8 makes the same horsepower and zero maintenance so it's a pretty win-win for the guy
21:08that's not the gearhead one thing i think sets the muscle cars apart from a lot of the other guys doing
21:12this is we're an engineering team versus a hot rod team i've been building race cars for 20 plus years
21:20so you know just knowing the tech behind correct fastener choice safety wiring things you know making
21:26sure things are the right torque spec the right bolt the right everything you need is twice as critical
21:32on a electrical system you know it's fun to be the stoplight and rev it up but it's also fun to know
21:36that you have the fastest car on the block and it's totally still
