00:00all right riddle me this what is the Japanese word for Ferrari whoosh it's Toyota Superman and

00:14we got one in the shop we can't wait to get under the hood and under this car yeah already track

00:18prep so we're gonna up the game a little bit and do a little work Japanese word for boring

00:23all right gang let's rope you in this is a fun project for the day our 2020 Toyota Supra now

00:39these things are awesome machine and they they kind of fell out of the market for like 17 years

00:44we thought we'd never see them again yeah man here they are 2019 they came out with the fifth

00:49generation they kind of formed a collaboration with BMW so this is the same platform I think

00:54it might be a little shorter or longer than the Z4 Roadster and probably some similar powertrain

00:59stuff so they got a I think a four and a six yeah they come in these things 335 horsepower this one's

01:06whipped up to 550 so think about a 3,400 pound car 550 horsepower this go car scoots man it's got

01:13some aero some downforce man it's got some goodies on it but that's not where it stops here man yeah

01:19because he takes this and does a lot of time attacks a lot of autocross stuff and I bet man

01:25I haven't seen this guy but I'm guessing he has zero tattoos yeah all right so um why don't we get

01:32this thing up on the lift it's try to get it up on the air ride so we've got in its highest position

01:37at the moment so we can get our arms under there pick the sucker up and we've got some goodies for

01:42the underside yeah let's get at it

01:43all right guys we're getting the last of the old exhaust system out really nice setup

02:03stainless steel it's kind of what we all want but we've got a major upgrade going on I don't know if

02:07you can see in the background a little bit of coloring give you a little bit of clue but this

02:11my friends is a whole nother level we're talking about titanium exhaust we just took stainless off

02:17most people trying to put it on we just removed it because titanium this stuff is gorgeous I mean just

02:24look at it it's like wow that is artwork under the car yeah well we'll get into the reasons why

02:30now this is from Valtronic Designs you've seen us have their stainless steel version of the universal

02:35muffler and it's got valving electronic valving in it so you can with a touch of a button right you

02:40can change it from quiet right you're cruising through your neighborhood you're on the track

02:44you're ready to wake it up to right open that valve up get the free-flowing exhaust get the

02:49horsepower up the sound's coming out it's to turn your head button right yeah you're in the car you

02:53go oh okay press and everybody's like what so they've got a lot of options between the stainless the

02:59high-end stainless and the titanium you can get the universal mufflers for whatever application hot

03:03rod uh these come on Ferraris Lamborghinis Audi R8s but they even have stuff for like Mustangs and you

03:09name it you know you put it in perspective this exhaust that we're putting on is 25 pounds lighter

03:14than the exhaust that came on this car from the factory if you're doing time attacks autocrosses 25

03:20pounds makes a massive difference and looks cool yeah it looks unbelievable now titanium in general is

03:27about 40 45 percent lighter than steel right so right off the bat that's where you get a lot of it from

03:33and then titanium is pretty strong it's pretty heat resistant uh you can get the wall thickness down

03:38so if I put the calipers on here versus one of these tubes and I mean did you pick one of these

03:43and it's like the clamp on the old stainless weighed more than this piece yeah it's crazy so you can get a

03:50thinner wall nice and strong and a thinner material high strength uh to go along with it and you got

03:56yourself a seriously awesome system so I think uh we'll just have to figure out the order of the

04:02pieces and it's ready to go back in there yeah not to mention at the end the one part you will see

04:07behind the car five inch tips man yeah if four wasn't big enough we got five yeah that's big tip

04:14all right let's get her in I can't wait to hear what it sounds like especially with the valve open

04:19close close

04:20hold it you got those pliers over there yeah let me get this started

04:41all right we got the exhaust set up in here man it's looking pretty sweet um now we got to work

04:51on the valves part right so now we go from quiet to loud now the factory one just kind of closed off

04:57one side so that would deadhead this bank and so if you came all up here there's a v split

05:02so everything would have to flow out one side until you open the valve and then it can go the dual exhaust

05:09which is kind of weird when you think about it I mean you get it but uh why not just run around

05:13with dual exhaust the entire time well that's kind of what we're doing now so we got two valves uh

05:19they're going to be running a little bit separately so we got a valve here and a valve here so what do

05:22we do with the factory one well you make sure it's plugged in because you don't throw any codes

05:27you simply drop out these little body screws lean that down tuck it right in there

05:33and then screw it back in car doesn't know any better yeah so now we got to route ours so

05:39we got a little control box here really simple we'll get power to it and then it's pneumatic

05:43so we'll tap off of this guy here we'll go to a little splitter we'll feed it to both of these

05:49valves and oh voila now we got a remote control which is cool I got it in my pocket because I already

05:56got it yeah yeah because I knew I knew you would be wanting to do the exhaust but I get it going I'm

06:01the one that's gonna be driving it and making it loud you just simply just go boop it's actually

06:05heavy like feel it that's okay give it back um all right uh yeah this thing is gonna get

06:11on the track I can quiet it down yeah look at that guy he's so slow it's so quiet all right we just

06:17got to get the controller up wired and fire this baby up yeah man we're gonna switch gears go to

06:22the ultima no no no no we're not we got plenty to do on this no that's right I'm down with that plan

06:27let's stick on this car for a while hey welcome back you guys still on our toyota supra loving his

06:42car loving what he does with the car time attacks oh you gotta love that man uh look when you're

06:48thinking about what tire you want on a time attack or autocross there's only one name that really stands

06:54out that's hoosier like if you want performance think about their dna all that racing heritage

06:58it all comes down to a tire like this now this is their track attack pro it's unbelievable 200

07:05trade wear super sticky and it does have all that racing dna incorporated right in the tire yeah now

07:10this is a max performance summer tire and so it blends between right he's got some all seasons

07:15he can go through the winter go on boring long trips but we want to rip it up on the track or on

07:19the street man it's all about these hoosiers yeah no doubt these things are sticky yeah and I said

07:25they're 200 rated so they're going to give you some decent mileage but you know that motorsports

07:29compounding yeah man that's icky is all that racing dna they got all those compounds they're

07:35formulated to stick man especially get a little heat in them you know when you can make a fingernail

07:40indentation in the tire you know it's sticky and tacky it's good stuff so we're going to get all

07:45these mounted up so he's got ready to roll on any any kind of situation yeah but he does like to go

07:51to car shows right yeah and what's kind of cool is hoosier also makes a whole car caroline which is

07:56cool and dude I love the naming oh it's hilarious daddy a little play on that who's your mama who's

08:03your daddy who's the babies you put them together yeah who's your baby so you get the wheel cleaner

08:09uh I'll get that tire cleaner we'll get a little bit of spot shining going on yeah then we'll get

08:15these suckers mounted up and uh on the ride for him to go have some fun all right whoever came up

08:20with kind of the market on these things are awesome and from the name to the instructions you guys got

08:24to check these out man like they're hilarious they're super funny there's like seven steps but

08:28there's only like two to really do the work the rest of them are just spray it on let it sit 30 to 60

08:33seconds but you know take photos kick the tires because you're about to win you know tag hoosier

08:39like all the step by step you gotta pick them up and try yourself all right so we do let it sit for

08:44a little bit let it do its magic man soak into the tire soak into the rim let it do all the cleaning

08:48right then you come back you know give it a minute and come back and do the wipeys and the wheel

08:53cleaner I will tell you man anything that would normally be on your rim dust grime road debris oil all

08:58that stuff man that wheel cleaner sticks right to it comes right off and this was a pretty clean

09:03tire to begin with you let it sit like you were saying 30 to 60 seconds and just wipe it off you

09:09know they suggest rinse it off if it's really really bad cover the brake dust maybe two coats but man

09:14great stuff great shine and love the marketing

09:18all right we got our hoosiers all mounted up cleaned up wheels all spiffy yeah man and we got

09:25them stacked up yep you've seen this before you've probably done this before right and then what

09:30happens you drop your cell phone in there you lose a kid down in there they play hide and go see

09:35well guess what we got some great new products from weather tech yeah friends at weather tech

09:40solved another problem these are their wheel protectors the wheel stackers so you just lay this

09:45layer over each rim and wheel and it protects it ingenious idea right well think about man the big thing is

09:52sometimes these little bead protectors are above your rim and sometimes they're just below and so

09:58you go to stack your wheel and you hear clink and all of a sudden you scratch the face just like you

10:04always blame your significant other when they're going through the drive-through and scrub the curve

10:07awesome at it yeah so now you can stack and put one of these in between man protect your floor as

10:12well as your wheels probably use it for a frisbee or something well we got the whole track life thing

10:18going on yeah man right stacking his uh race wheels and and you're always bringing tools to the track

10:24so we've got the trunk liner you can put your jack in there your tools in there yeah exactly autocross

10:28time attack so he's got a bunch of stuff in there you don't want to damage the back of the car so

10:32use something like this man these are great because you know it's all laser configured right

10:37everything fits just super tight it's amazing the protection you get from weather tech yeah and we

10:43got them in sun shape man this thing for future sit down on the track all day man you're getting ready

10:47you've got your suit on your helmet on you're already sweating bullets you don't want to get

10:50into a 500 degree car so a little sun shade no matter where you're at and in the winter time

10:55all of us that are up north man you flip it on the back side you actually absorb some heat keep that

11:00windshield from frosting up the variance in the temperature they have big fancy numbers you know

11:06when you go buy it but it's amazing the amount of heat it throws and keeps out of the car or in a

11:11winter the amount of heat when you use the black side that it brings into the car so just smart to have

11:15one of these for you know again another layer of protection yeah and to go along with cargo liner

11:20man we've got the floor liners for the front it's gonna fit perfect man keep everything looking nice

11:24so i think with that man let's drive it baby this is what i've been so excited about i've been so

11:29what no man we're driving this car's built for speed bro no we're not doing it we're driving this

11:34i'm totally driving dude we're driving this i'm driving this i'm not doing it awesome i'm driving it

11:38you drive this car man i'm driving that if you ain't first you're last kevin car built for speed man

11:44needs to be driven here's this week's mouse blocker minute man rodents wreak havoc and tim is here to

11:54tell us how some of these unpleasant rodents got to his daily driver what happened tim i went out

12:00to start it one morning and of course i checked engine light and they give me a phone call and

12:04tell me uh the rodents got in and ate your wiring i went and bought a mouse blocker that's solved the

12:11problem for that but uh here i had to take my truck when the battery went dead and lo and behold uh

12:16the shop forgot to hook up my mouse blocker oh no oh no it happened again and that's been here probably

12:23about a month ago how much would that repair cost you if you had to pay i know we're interested

12:28covered it but how much would a repair like that cost you this last one they told me $1,300

12:33the first one to go around it done more damage it was $2,200 the first time

12:41there's $3,500 of damage $3,500 in damages from mice wow do that man hey when rodents wreak havoc

12:51people reach for mouse blocker you should too

12:53hey guys welcome back man we are still on our toyota super project it just happens to look like

13:05a 2011 nissan ultima yeah yeah and i know you guys have been dying for this part of the project

13:10that's a super you couldn't wait for it but you know what in the reality anytime you have a nice car

13:16right whether it's too low too fast too hot right great paint you don't want door dings going to

13:21grocery store you got an a to b car sitting in the background yeah so this one it's got 126,000

13:26miles on it it's been beat up but we're here to fix it right and one of the things it's doing is

13:31overheating part of that problem is it can't hold pressure in the radiator it's got a leak in it

13:35and figure while we're in there we'll go ahead and update and fix up the cooling pans yeah so we

13:41started off with nissan's radiator all right n-i-s-s-e-n sounds a lot like nissan i know yeah all right

13:47but check out this man they do a lot of things unique and different with their radiators

13:51some things you think are pretty trick for example you see this little slit like when i saw the

13:56radiator i was like well what is that well they actually give you little gaps in here because

13:59guess what happens thermal expansion you've heard it before right gets hot it swells it shrinks it

14:05swells it shrinks well that compensates for that so over a long period of time you don't have that

14:10point of fatigue yeah and they also have things like they don't use recycled plastics which are

14:14typically weaker it's all new plastics fiberglass reinforced so it's nice and strong it's going to last

14:20and they upgrade things like in the cooling a lot of times over the ov1 they'll do a double folded fin

14:26and tighter spacing on the cores to give you more capacity more cooling yeah something else that's key

14:32right we've all had this scenario uh you get a radiator it doesn't have anything that helps you with the

14:37project well these guys have something called the customer's first fit this basically means you get

14:43all the hardware everything you need from the transmission line adapters right to any sort of metal clips

14:48you know your cash whatever you need to get the project done and done right they provide that's

14:54huge that saves you a lot of trips wasted to the park store yeah you know exactly all right we got

14:58the nissan fans to go with it so let's go ahead and dive into this thing pull the grill out get the old

15:03one out start getting this thing back tip chopping on the road yeah man get that super rolling again

15:07all right now look when you're getting a radiator out of your ultima there's just a lot of things

15:13you got to you know break apart and finesse out i suggest this you got your phone there's an app on it

15:19that shows you what you look like when you're old it's called a camera right pull it out and take a

15:23bunch of pictures right so you know where all the brackets and braces and bolts go back and fasten

15:27should we have done that yeah yeah maybe it's got crowns here you got to move a brace here move and

15:33everything underneath here along with the fans yeah and a couple little tips right you got your hood

15:37release it's blocking everything so once you get that out of the way you can slide some stuff out

15:41like once you get stuff out of the way the radiator goes in like super easy it's got some pins on the

15:47bottom they just drop into some bushings and then it's got a similar little round bushing on the top

15:52and uh cool little u-shaped bracket and this guy just slides in there and snaps snaps into place so

16:03you just pinch it pull it out and this thing will now tip and then the ac condenser right it's sitting

16:10right in front these are little corner brackets that pinch down on the top of it and they just slide

16:15right into there like that to hold the condenser here's the bottom clip for the bottom half of it

16:20but the fight is all that stuff over there yeah so all right now that we got that out of the way

16:26uh we'll get this one in now a nissons makes all kinds of different componentry a lot of ac system

16:31stuff from condensers compressors blower fans various components within it egr system components turbos

16:39throttle bodies man so check them out for anything you might need we're going to get this radiator back

16:44in and get this super fired up do you own a ford focus or fiesta and have shifting problems or a

16:57dead transmission control unit well unfortunately you're not alone you know what happens is the

17:02factory tcm fails when heat and vibrations crack the compliant pin connectors killing all communication

17:08but dormant's got the fix yeah the remanufactured tcm is upgraded with edge bond and solder for

17:13durability plus all new seals to resist corrosion inside the tcm's and it's built and performance

17:19tested right in pennsylvania with premium components so it's ready to last hey fix leaks now and in the

19:04and fan upgrade and doing a quick repair and i promise we'll be back on that super to go rip

19:10here's the door panel the the owner got stuck in the car because the handle right here let me show you

19:15it has a little tab that broke off now here's the handle right you can see when you open it

19:21well the cable sits right in here and this little tab just kind of snapped back which lets the cable

19:27fall off so we're going to glue it real fast with the insta weld from jb weld now this stuff is great

19:34because it's an epoxy it's super strong 2300 psi strength and within two minutes the thing is cured up

19:41kind of ready to go so we've got a mixer here it's going to make sure that the two halves

19:45swirl together and by the time it comes out the end like that it should be all mixed and ready

19:54make sure it gets in that crack nicely there we go oh man that's beautiful beautiful i'm going to

20:03fold it over kind of hang on to it for a minute or two let that thing set up stronger than super glue

20:10and that dude should hold man and uh save you a lot of money on a repair quick and easy all right

20:16guys so this is going to be dried put the panel on i'm going to meet you back over here let's go take

20:21that thing for a riff see how that titanium exhaust with the cool valves sounds like huh

20:26dude thank you get down man she's good she's built for speed baby built for speed and now built for a

20:45little cruising and you know some more but those tires super sticky i love the exhaust but this

20:51thing just wants you to drive it listen to that downshift rev match oh it's nasty big turbo action

20:57little whooshing a little whoosh nothing like a big straightaway put some miles on here here we go

21:05here we go come on whoa baby get it son get it all right we're going to take this thing to the track

21:12meter boy get them all set up yeah he's got his weather tech just ready to fly at us here man

21:18oh man i think he's going to be happy he is going to be happy you know i'm happy great sounds great power

21:24out of this thing great traction i'm driving a super y'all that's a that's a japanese word that's how
