00:00The Yankees' No. 2 prospect Spencer Jones is one step closer to the big leagues.

00:04Jones has been promoted to AAA Scranton after 49 games in AA where he hit .274 with 16 home runs,

00:118 doubles, 32 walks, 10 stolen bases, and a 9.84 OPS.

00:16The big lefty outfielder gets the call-up as he's been red-hot in the month of June,

00:20batting .315 with 7 home runs and an OPS of .1056.

00:25Jones has made some improvements to his swing this year,

00:27resulting in more balls batted in the air.

00:30His fly ball rate has gone up around 9% while decreasing ground balls by about 11% this season.

00:36The main concern around the former first-round draft pick for the Bombers is that he strikes out a lot.

00:42In 49 games at AA, Jones has struck out 70 times, which is a rate of 33.7%.

00:48If he can cut down on those Ks, we should see his debut sooner rather than later.

00:52Or could this be New York preparing to trade Jones for a proven major leaguer at this year's trade deadline?
