00:00And that's my next question about Cody Bellinger, speaking about the contract, because like you said, the Yankees seem to be reportedly capped at that five years, $160 million number, and teams like the Phillies and the Mets and the Jays are likely going to be involved.
00:16How aggressive do you think the bidding could get? And I guess, ultimately, where do you think he signs?
00:22So I thought all along that eventually the Yankees and Bellinger would grind each other down and they would come up with a number, wherever that is, because I know how much the Yankees valued him.
00:34But they're also, and I think this is the reason why he's not getting these crazy offers that we've heard about so far, is that his offense in his career has been up and down, right?
00:44He's been an excellent defender. He's known as a great teammate. He's big market proven in the Dodgers, Cubs, Yankees.
00:51So if you're the Phillies, you're the, you know, the Mets, you're the Blue Jays, you're not worried about him taking that adjustment to your marketplace.
01:01But the offense kind of goes up and down a little bit. And that's the reason why I think the Yankees are probably going to go beyond where they are.
01:09From what I've talked from sources, like they're prepared that he's going to wind up going someplace else.
01:15I do wonder, just like I think he's a really good fit for the Mets, if they're willing to just sort of have this surplus of bodies.
01:24I think he's great for the Jays.
01:27Like, and for the same reason that the Mets might be partially motivated to sign Bo Bichette,
01:32were you taking it away from a division rival? If you're the Jays and you know the Yankees need Cody Bellinger,
01:38he's really, maybe that's a motivation. But I know this, I mean, Scott, you know,
01:44what happened in the Alex Brickman negotiation was, I think the Red Sox didn't believe there was another team involved.
01:49And then Cubs come in. And I think the Yankees feel good about where their offer is.
01:55And the question is, will there be another team that comes in?
01:58I mean, Boris's history is Boris's history. Typically, the teams come out of left field.
02:03And as we saw with the Tucker situation, Dodgers, Mets probably not being aware of the Dodgers presence,
02:09wound up being difference making. So it wouldn't surprise me if another team, one of those other teams swooped.
02:13And he makes sense for the Jays and the Mets.
