00:00This is your New York Sports Minute. We've been talking about it all summer and we're just about there.
00:05The MLB trade deadline is on Thursday and I do not envy Brian Cashman right now.
00:10The Yankees sit in a bit of a precarious position. They're five and a half games back of Toronto in the AL East,
00:14but they do sit in the first wildcard spot. They're not playing well against their division opponents.
00:19They've lost their last five games against the Red Sox and six of their last seven against the Blue Jays.
00:25They desperately needed an upgrade at third base and although it's the smallest of sample sizes,
00:30Ryan McMahon made a good impression in Sunday's win over the Phillies with a game-tying two-run double
00:34just hours after the club placed Aaron Judge on the 10-day I.L.
00:40Grounded, field ball, down the right field line, that'll go into the corner.
00:44Stanton scores, Chisholm scores, Dominguez will stop at third.
00:48It's a two-run double for McMahon and the Yankees have tied the score.
00:53Looking at them right now, this does not seem like a team ready to compete for a championship.
00:57There are still plenty of positions to address, so we'll see just how far Cashman is willing to go to try and turn things around.
