00:00Title talk, Judge convinced Yanks running it back
00:03is past the first crown in 17 years
00:05and Cohen tired of waiting to end Mets 40 year drought.
00:09There's so much to unpack from both of these back pages,
00:12but let's start with the Yankees
00:13because if you read between the lines
00:15of everything that was said by Aaron Judge in that article
00:18and then you compare it to the things he said
00:20about that championship window being now and urgent
00:24for the first time for covering this team,
00:27I feel like it feels like Judge is tired of the weight
00:30of winning championship number 28 falling slowly on him
00:34and he wants or he at least wanted the Yankees front office
00:38to get off their butts and do something about it
00:40in the off season.
00:41Him admitting that the start of this off season
00:45was brutal to watch while big free agents or potential help
00:49or even another potential Robin not named Soto
00:52signed to other franchises, particularly the Dodgers
00:56who he's going to have to beat for that championship.
00:59This is that man's version of publicly and respectfully
01:03telling Brian Cashman and crew to get out there
01:06and to do something.
01:08Now on the queen side of things,
01:10when Steve Cohen bought the Mets,
01:12he promised the city and Amazons that the Mets
01:15would win a championship in five years.
01:17We're way past that deadline
01:19and this season's roster doesn't look like
01:21it's even anywhere close to breaking the eighth longest
01:24active title drought in MLB.
01:26You want to feel the pressure
01:29or you want to know why Uncle Stevie
01:31is being so impatient this year?
01:33The 1986 Mets are going to be honored and celebrated
01:37at Citi Field all throughout the season.
01:39As an owner, as a fan base, and as a franchise,
01:42you want to stop living off the past.
01:45You want to stop living off of old championships
01:47and old cores of players
01:49and you want to step into a new future of the franchise.
01:52The Steve Cohen era, the David Stearns era,
01:55a championship era for the Mets organization.
01:58Both these franchises have started full team workouts
02:01down in Florida and they kick off spring training
02:04in the next couple of days.
02:05So stay locked in to all things Yankees and Mets
