00:00Welcome to the Constitutionalist Politics Podcast, a.k.a. CTP.
00:07I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard, and that's L-E-N-A-R-D.
00:12CTP is your no-must, no-fuss, just-me-you-and-occasional-guest-type podcast.
00:19I really appreciate you tuning in.
00:22As Graham Norton will say, let's get on with the show!
00:25Hello, everyone. Welcome to Books, Authors, Weeks, October of 2025.
00:37I had Health Weeks in February of 2025.
00:43I had a Music Weeks, three of those, in the month of March 2025.
00:49So, here we are, October. I have a lot of fellow authors I have the chance to have discussions with.
00:58So, Books, Authors, Weeks, October 25.
01:04Without further ado, let's head into a discussion with a fellow author.
01:10Welcome to another episode of Constitutionalist Podcast.
01:18Welcome to Books, Authors, Weeks.
01:23Author joining me today is Kat Sterling.
01:27Welcome to the show, Kat. How are you?
01:30Thank you. I'm great.
01:31And that's Kat, for those listening, or the transcript, audio only rather than video.
01:39You don't see her name in the corner.
01:41It's K-A-T, right?
01:44Not C-A-T.
01:46So, K-A-T-S-T-E-R-L-I-N-G.
01:52Kat Sterling.
01:53Okay, before we get into the book stuff, let's do the nitty-gritty of, like, where were you born, where were you raised, where are you now, any notable places you've been in between, you know, that kind of stuff.
02:10I'm sorry, my screen froze, so can you ask that one more time. I'm so sorry.
02:15Yeah, yeah, the nitty-gritty of your life, right?
02:19Where were you born, raised, where are you now?
02:21How interesting places you've been in between, that sort of thing.
02:27Oh, so you, do you want me to start off and tell the whole story?
02:29Well, I don't want to, we don't, we're not going to talk for three hours, so the abridged version, please, yes.
02:39The stage version, how about that? I'll give you the stage version.
02:42So, I grew up in a small town. I always, you know, saw myself as large in life.
02:47I wanted to do big things, amazing things, great things. I didn't want to stay in that small town.
02:51So, I wanted to be in a position when I grew up. Let's just fast forward. That didn't work out for me very well.
02:58And I guess that wasn't my path. You know, I feel like people have their own path and their own journey they have to take in life.
03:03And sometimes it works out in your favor, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you have to pivot.
03:06And so, I ended up going into healthcare operations, did really well in that.
03:10Well, in 2022, after being in healthcare operations for 16 years, I lost my job.
03:16Oh, 11 years.
03:17Oh, boy.
03:18I lost my job. And so, that kind of devastated me.
03:23And the funny thing is, this book that I had been writing, literally, this book that I had been writing for at least five years, couldn't ever get it done because I didn't have enough time.
03:32Too busy. Work stuff always got in the way.
03:35Hey, actually, write one Christian show.
03:39One door closes.
03:41It may not be a door.
03:44It might be a window.
03:45So, absolutely.
03:47Absolutely.
03:48It was a window.
03:49It was a window.
03:50And I finally sat down.
03:51Listen, two weeks after I left that job, I got this.
03:54I wrote this.
03:56I finished this book.
03:57Two weeks.
03:57Literally two weeks after I left that job, I finished the book.
03:59After five years.
04:01After literally five years.
04:02And so, that was kind of like the catalyst that kind of sparked everything.
04:06You know, my husband and I ended up starting a business.
04:09You know, I started coaching and speaking based off the book.
04:12You know, so we've done a lot of things in between there.
04:15And like you said, one door sometimes closes, but that's not the end of your story.
04:19Sometimes it closes for a reason and God wants to move you to another area.
04:24It's not the end of your story unless you give up.
04:28You have no hope.
04:29You dwell on the negative rather than focusing on, oh, okay, it may hurt for a while, but potentially something better can be around the corner.
04:40Or if I work at it, don't just sit on the couch eating chips and drinking, feeling sorry for myself.
04:51For myself, right?
04:52Exactly.
04:53Exactly.
04:54And that's what people, you know, they go through these transitions in life.
04:58Because I was 40 at the time when all this happened.
05:00I just had a baby.
05:01You know, I had a one-year-old son.
05:03And so I was 40.
05:04And so that was a life transition for me, right?
05:06Because I'd been in this field forever.
05:09And then now you tell me at 40 years old with all of these bills I have to pay, I got a house payment, I got kids, I got this, I got that.
05:15I got to transition?
05:17Like, I got to learn new stuff?
05:18I got to step out on faith?
05:20What?
05:21I got to step out on faith?
05:22Yeah.
05:23It's hard.
05:23It's not easy.
05:24It's definitely not easy.
05:25But as I look through those transitions in my life, I'm like, God has always sustained me.
05:31And there has always been a purpose in every single transition that has happened.
05:36Every single one of them.
05:37Even from going to medical school, right?
05:39Yeah.
05:40This show wouldn't exist.
05:42My now into double digits worth of books wouldn't exist had I not got unhealthy, had health problems, and gone on disability.
05:55Right?
05:56I wasn't happy at all.
05:59Still not losing a six-figure salary, right?
06:04And trying to get by on a disability budget.
06:07But yes, it opened that window of opportunity to write like I had been all my life but never was internationally published.
06:19And now I am.
06:20And this show, of course, now I can do what I would otherwise not be able to.
06:29So you've held the book up a few times, which is great for the behind-the-scenes video crew, five video outlets.
06:38But does nothing for the 25-plus audio-only platforms or those who may read a transcription.
06:47It is why they are winning and you are not, the steps to finding success in life.
06:55And I think we've already heard the motivation for the book.
06:59So I don't got any – let me back up again, though, because you did never say where you were born and where you are now.
07:08Okay.
07:09I was born in Shelby, North Carolina, a small town right outside of Charlotte.
07:13And then I live in Atlanta, Georgia now.
07:15Ah.
07:16That's my home.
07:17Yeah.
07:17Cotlanta, right?
07:18Cotlanta.
07:19Yeah.
07:19I know others that are down there, too.
07:23In fact, a friend or a former colleague in information tech who had lost his job, his wife was also in IT.
07:35And rather than him worry about looking for another job other than, you know, odd jobs, they decided, well, we'll just use the wife's salary, sell the home in Michigan.
07:50They moved down to Georgia where the cost of living, a lot less.
07:56And she could work from home.
07:59Wow.
07:59Wow.
08:00Being mobile, then, yeah, they could very well survive on just her salary living in Georgia outside of Atlanta.
08:12And, indeed, his odd jobs here and there or whatever then was bonus money.
08:19Yes.
08:19Yes.
08:20Yes.
08:21Yes.
08:22That's smart because a lot of people aren't willing to be flexible and they're not willing to pivot when things like that happens.
08:27Like, if you've got to get rid of it, hey, look, guys, I've had to do it.
08:31Hubris.
08:32The sin of hubris.
08:34Yes.
08:35Yes.
08:35I've had to get rid of stuff and house and a car and all of it.
08:40I've had to get rid of it all in downtown.
08:42All the stuff I had when I was working, I had a six-figure salary in IT.
08:49I was married at the time.
08:50The wife had a 50 grand a year salary.
08:54We had become accustomed to a pretty luxurious lifestyle.
09:00Right?
09:01And then when that salary stops, the expensive cars had to go.
09:10Yeah.
09:11In there.
09:12The luxury eating, like, you know, at the steakhouses had to go.
09:17I'm on a McDonald's dollar menu budget these days.
09:22No vacations.
09:24None of that.
09:25I haven't been out of the state of Michigan since 2006.
09:30Yeah, that makes sense.
09:32I mean, it's like that.
09:33But most people aren't willing to give that up.
09:35And sometimes you have to be willing to give it up to get something longer term or something more meaningful in life.
09:41Because if I had just went back to work and got another job, I never would have finished this book.
09:46I never would have finished it.
09:48I never would have finished it.
09:49I never would have started my business.
09:50Like, I never would have did any of that.
09:52And so sometimes you just have to let go.
09:54Because what I found in this process, and it's so funny how God works, because he will change your whole perspective on life through one single incident.
10:07And so what I found is that I don't need stuff to make me happy anymore.
10:11Before, it was like I had to buy.
10:13I had to have.
10:14I had to impress.
10:15And I had to show people how successful and great I was.
10:18Consumerism and keeping up with the Joneses.
10:20Joneses, yes.
10:22And I was honestly, to be honest, I was really in a lot of debt.
10:26I was very unhappy, very self-conscious, low self-esteem, you name it, everything.
10:32But, you know, I wanted to have this outside appearance of success and confidence and all of this.
10:37And so when all of that went away, I was stripped and I was just left with me.
10:41And so I had to learn to be me and love me and understand me on a level that I have never understood myself.
10:48But it was the best experience.
10:49Yeah, I didn't read at the top the background information.
10:54Kat Sterling is an entrepreneur, writer, coach, motivational speaker, and the co-founder, COO of New Spira, Inc., a startup health and wealth, wealth, wealthness, wellness.
11:08This happens a lot.
11:10I hit record and the mouse don't want to cooperate again.
11:14I get it.
11:14I'm the same way.
11:15I'm the same way.
11:16So, New Spira, Inc. is the company.
11:21And you do what with it?
11:24So, we have four staple products.
11:26We have two mushroom coffees.
11:28I know that's the big trend right now.
11:29Oh.
11:30We have amazing.
11:31Neil Patrick Harris advertises one on TV.
11:34I'm constantly seeing ads, and I can see health benefits in it, but on my budget, I can't afford that.
11:43I'm on so many other pills and supplements.
11:46That's one that would probably benefit me, but I can't fit it in.
11:51I can't fit it in.
11:53I'll say that, but it's amazing.
11:55The benefits are amazing.
11:56I'd say we have a superior brand to most of them that are out there.
12:00People just don't know about it yet.
12:02In your face, Neil Patrick Harris, right?
12:06Just because they got better advertising.
12:08But, yeah, we have two mushroom coffees, and then we have a liquid vitamin, which is chocked full of everything you need.
12:14Most people don't know that pills are very hard on your liver.
12:17They're hard on your kidneys.
12:18They're hard on your stomach.
12:19And so, I tried to limit that.
12:21When I was going through my jobless situation, I was going through a lot of health issues, and so I was taking a lot of supplements to try to just get myself back to normal.
12:30And they either didn't work, or 90% of that stuff I was eliminating, or I just couldn't get them down anymore.
12:37It was just too much for me.
12:38So, that's why we came up with a liquid vitamin that people can take.
12:41And then our last product is a detox.
12:42I'm not promising I'm buying it, but it is definitely something I'm looking into, as you said, to replace pills.
12:52Because, indeed, yes, hard on the stomach, hard on the liver, hard on the kidneys, a liquid absorbs better, gets into the bloodstream faster.
13:06Yep.
13:07Yep.
13:07That's what most people don't understand.
13:09And I'm like, we're taking all these supplements, and they're probably killing you faster than they're making you better.
13:18All these supplements.
13:19But, however, I would stress to people that you probably need to take something, because most of the people are not getting what they need through their normal food.
13:30The way the food is processed is low-dense.
13:32It's like, you're not getting the nutrients that you probably were 30, 40, 50 years ago.
13:36Yeah.
13:36And so, it's kind of necessary that we're taking supplements just to counteract some of the things that we put in our bodies.
13:42And especially...
13:43Even if it's really healthy.
13:44Yeah, especially as you get older and older and older, the body...
13:49Especially women.
13:51Especially women.
13:52We lose a lot of bone density.
13:54We lose a lot of collagen.
13:55Once we hit 30, things just started kind of going on a meal.
13:59Men are pretty different.
14:00No matter how healthy you feel, you still need the supplements to stave off the potential downfall later.
14:12Right?
14:12Absolutely.
14:12I was just recording with another author for Books Authors Weeks, Evan Turk.
14:19And he's an attorney.
14:21His is a...
14:23Well, his is like yours is non-fiction.
14:26And, you know, it's easier to talk to a fiction author in a way.
14:31But we address, from legal standpoint, things.
14:37It's easier if you are at least a modicum of prepared in advance, rather than waiting for it to all go to hell.
14:48Exactly.
14:49Exactly.
14:50Yeah, I'll fall apart.
14:52Then it's exponentially more harmful on you, more costly on your budget.
14:59Absolutely.
15:01Yeah, preparing ahead.
15:03Most people don't, because they don't feel bad, so they wait.
15:06And then once they wait, like you said, it's too late because your body's already kind of falling apart.
15:11You're losing your hair.
15:12Your skin's getting wrinkled.
15:13Like, you're just starting to fall apart altogether.
15:15And it's like, okay, your body's been going through this transition for years.
15:18You just ignore it.
15:20Or you just ignored it.
15:23Ignored it.
15:24Exactly.
15:25And hope, like I said to Evan, too, I've said on this show many times, hope is great.
15:31Hope is wonderful.
15:33We need more hope, but hope is not a strategy.
15:38Yes.
15:39It's not.
15:41It is not.
15:42Prepare people.
15:43You're going to age.
15:43Prepare.
15:44And not just thinking about it, doing things about it, like the supplements before you're 60 and falling apart.
15:58Absolutely.
15:58Starting your supplements at least at age 30, you've got to.
16:05And yeah, you mentioned hair.
16:07For behind the scenes, you can see I've got no hair.
16:10Or that's because of leukemia in 2010.
16:16And when it all came out, I decided, well, I'll save a ton on shampoo and conditioner and just shave it.
16:22Keep it shaved.
16:23Right?
16:23Yeah.
16:24The chemo did that?
16:26Or did you did the?
16:27Yeah, the chemo.
16:28You just never go back to the chemo?
16:30Well, you know, some of it would, but not all of it.
16:34So I just keep it shaved.
16:36Yeah.
16:36That's the big part of the chemo, unfortunately, because it's poison.
16:39You're poisoning your body.
16:41And so it kills the hair follicles for a lot of people, and it never grows back for some people.
16:45Yeah.
16:45You're injecting poison to hopefully kill the cancer cells before they kill too many good cells and you die.
16:54Like one of the things after the regular chemo and the leukemia-specific drug, several weeks they had me taking low-level IV input of arsenic, right?
17:16Arsenic will kill you.
17:18Well, they give you low doses to help kill bad stuff, hopefully not so much that it kills the patients.
17:28Wow.
17:29I didn't realize they did that.
17:30Wow.
17:31Wow.
17:32That's harsh.
17:32It probably made you sick, right?
17:34Like really sick?
17:35Oh, yeah.
17:36I mean, I knew what it feels like to be dying.
17:41I mean, and yeah, the cure is as bad as the disease, but you hope there's a coming out of the tunnel on the other side and you'll, but yeah, for years, I've been on disability since 2004 with a myriad of health issues.
18:00And yeah, over the years, adding, changing supplements, you know, thankfully, I feel a little better than I used to, but I'm still nowhere close to normal, even with all the pills and the supplements.
18:17Wow.
18:17My health got a lot, well, not better, but I was less sick with colds and flu and all that on a regular basis when I upped my D, upped my C, upped my zinc, my magnesium or potassium levels.
18:41Yep.
18:42Yep.
18:43And so I'm not, there was a period of time every year in January or February because of my health during the winter here in Michigan and it being cold, I would land up in the hospital feeling like the leukemia was back again.
19:01And they'd run a bazillion batteries of tests and say, you know, pump me with potassium, magnesium, and electrolytes and send me back home.
19:13Yeah.
19:13And charge you a fortune for it.
19:15Yes.
19:16And I finally figured out, duh, why am I not taking this at least on a semi-regular basis to avoid that?
19:27Yep.
19:28Yep.
19:28Wow.
19:28Well, that's, well, I'm so sorry to hear about your health crisis.
19:31That's horrible.
19:32That is why I can't even imagine.
19:34I can't imagine.
19:34Well, like I said, I want to check out your liquid.
19:37So let's talk about that some more.
19:40Help me and help others.
19:42What items are in your liquid supplement?
19:47Oh my goodness, everything.
19:48All the B-complex, magnesium, manganese, zinc, potassium, vitamin A, B, C, D, K.
19:56I mean, you name it, we have it, glucosamine, everything, everything.
20:01So it's vitamins, nutrients, and minerals.
20:04So you can, it helps you eliminate a lot of the, like you said, the pills that you're taking on a daily basis.
20:09So it's like one shot, one ounce a day, 30-day supply, that's it.
20:14That's all you need.
20:14And it's bioavailable within 30 seconds, which means, like you said earlier, it's going to be absorbed within 30 seconds.
20:20So it absorbs quicker, faster.
20:21And what people don't understand also about pills is a lot of the things that are in the fillers, in those pills, they're fillers.
20:28And you're going to eliminate.
20:29Bad side effects, yes.
20:30Yes.
20:32Yes.
20:32Yes.
20:33So people forget about that.
20:34And a lot of stuff that you think is in there and you're getting, you're not getting because your body's just eliminating it because it can't process it.
20:40Yeah, and that's the other thing that is the body absorbs and uses sometimes certain vitamins and minerals.
20:52It eliminates the rest of the stuff.
20:55Right.
20:56And other things it can retain for a while, like vitamin C.
21:02People think, oh, I should buy a 5,000 milligram supplement, chew on that.
21:10But no, the body generally pees out most of it.
21:14It'll pees out.
21:15What does that mean?
21:15That's why I have ascorbic acid instead.
21:22And all day long, I drink water with a little bit of ascorbic acid.
21:28So I'm constantly getting a vitamin C boost all the way through.
21:35It's like.
21:35Well, that's good.
21:36That's really good.
21:37Yeah.
21:38Earlier today, I took a B12.
21:41And what have I been doing all day?
21:43Peeing most of it out.
21:45Peeing most of it out.
21:47Peeing most of it out.
21:48People don't pee.
21:49You are.
21:50You're going to pee.
21:51And that's why you're like when you, this is going to sound weird, but like people that
21:55take a lot of vitamins, their urine is really yellow.
21:59And sometimes it has a medicine-y smell because you're like, you're eliminating a lot.
22:03Especially because of the B.
22:05Yeah.
22:05So yours, at least an ounce a day.
22:10It's probably better if you split that up into three things through a morning and afternoon
22:17and an evening if you, just take it and forget about it.
22:22That's it.
22:23Just take it in the morning.
22:23I'll take mine in the morning and forget about it because it does have the B12.
22:26So I don't want to take it throughout the day because I don't want to be up at night
22:29because, you know, B12 is going to give you energy.
22:31And so I would rather just take it in the morning.
22:33So I'll have that energy and I can go in throughout my day.
22:35I'm good.
22:36You're good for the rest of the day.
22:37That makes sense.
22:39And it's, yeah, like you said, you're liquid.
22:41But I'm hesitant to ask you the price because inflation always exists and prices always change, right?
22:54Yeah.
22:55Our site, it's on our site.
22:57It's $50.
22:59And yeah, it's not bad.
23:00I mean, if you're buying, like I said, I was paying $200 a month on supplements, just different supplements,
23:06like eight different supplements.
23:07And, you know, they're like, what, 30, some of them $30, $40 a piece.
23:10And so I was paying literally $200 a month.
23:13So 50 bucks to get all of these things in here.
23:16That's crazy.
23:17Just one shot a day.
23:18It's going to last you for 30 days.
23:20That's not bad.
23:20It's like, what, $2 a shot.
23:22That's not bad.
23:23Yeah, that's not terrible.
23:26Yeah.
23:26That's how you got to break it down, right?
23:28That's how it was.
23:29Less than a cup of coffee a day, right?
23:33Yeah.
23:34Yeah, exactly.
23:36Absolutely.
23:37Absolutely.
23:37There are always advertisements do that to hide the actual cost.
23:44Less than a cup of coffee a day, long.
23:47A cup of coffee a day can get expensive.
23:50You know, yes.
23:52And you know why we do that?
23:54We do that, too.
23:55Because people will say, oh, that's too expensive.
23:58But then they'll go spend $8 a day at Starbucks.
24:02And you're like, and you're paying for a bunch of sugar.
24:05You're paying for subpar coffee.
24:07I don't want Starbucks to come sue me.
24:10In your opinion.
24:12Yeah.
24:12In my opinion, you're paying for subpar coffee.
24:15Which I agree.
24:17But people pay it because they want the ambiance of drinking Starbucks.
24:22Or they want the aura of drinking Starbucks.
24:24Because it's cool.
24:25It's a cult thing.
24:25And so, but I'm like, you'll spend that, but you won't pay for something that's a little
24:30bit more healthier for you.
24:31And that's my counteraction to people that say things are expensive.
24:35I'm like, well, you'll spend this.
24:37It's all in what's important to you, right?
24:40Priorities.
24:40Yeah.
24:41Is your health.
24:43Yep.
24:44Drinking the bad stuff.
24:45Yes.
24:46Paying for the good stuff, which will keep you healthier.
24:49Absolutely.
24:50Indeed.
24:50Should be your bigger priority.
24:54Yes.
24:54Absolutely.
24:55Absolutely.
24:56So, uh, what's what I'm flying by here now.
25:02And I've talked way too much about me, but in a way, my bad situation helps sell your book
25:10and your product because don't become like me.
25:15People don't wait till it's too late.
25:19You're still here.
25:20So it's not too late.
25:21You're still living.
25:22You've made it.
25:23You're cancer free.
25:24Right.
25:24Are you cancer free?
25:25Yeah.
25:25In remission so far since 2010.
25:28So, yeah.
25:30That's awesome.
25:31That is so awesome.
25:32So, yes, we're, we're thankful for that.
25:34So good.
25:35So, but back to the book, let's talk a little more about the book since you're here for books
25:41author's author's weeks.
25:42Why they are winning and you are not the steps to finding success without too many spoilers.
25:52Explain beyond the title what all they're getting out of the book.
25:57So, I have to tell a little bit of story here.
26:01So, the reason why I wrote this book is because my husband and I have always, my husband has
26:07always been an entrepreneur.
26:09I've kind of dabbled in and out.
26:10And we've always been on the outskirts.
26:14So, what I mean by that is we would do a venture and we would be right at the cusp of, you know,
26:21something major happening.
26:22And all of a sudden it's just like, oh, or, you know, we would do something and wonder why it failed.
26:28This happened to us many, many times.
26:30And I talk about this in the book.
26:32And finally, I had to sit down and do, a lot of people want to blame outside forces.
26:38They want to blame, you know, whoever.
26:40The victimhood mentality.
26:42It's the victim mentality.
26:44And that's the sin of hubris.
26:46Again, it can't be me.
26:48It's somebody else holding me down.
26:51Exactly.
26:52And so, finally, I had to sit and do a self-evaluation on us, like what we weren't doing.
26:58Because we had a lot of people in our aura that were successful, in our atmosphere that were successful.
27:04You know, we hung out with very successful people.
27:06And I was like, why can't we get there?
27:07Oh, my gosh.
27:08And so, I had to sit down and figure out what they were doing and what we weren't doing to get there.
27:13And that's why the book is Why They Are Winning and You're Not.
27:16Because we were looking at our other, it's kind of like my story.
27:19It's like we were looking at our friends, trying to figure it out.
27:21It's like, oh, my gosh, there's a lot of simple principles that we weren't applying to our own life.
27:26It's very simple, but most people won't do the simple stuff.
27:29They won't do the simple stuff, which is what's going to take you from here to here.
27:34But most people, I don't care if they're on a job, if they're an entrepreneur, they are not going to do the simple things that's going to take them to the next level.
27:42And that's where we were.
27:43And I had to be real about myself and get honest about things.
27:46Human nature.
27:48It's why, like I said with Evan, it's why Jesus said the poor will always be among you.
27:55That's not an economic or a governance statement.
28:00It's part of human nature to be lazy or do the least possible.
28:08At least it's a mindset thing.
28:10Your mind is like a fight or flight.
28:12If it gets too hard or too difficult or it feels too daunting or overwhelming, you're like, oh, no, I can't do that.
28:17I'm protecting myself.
28:19I'm going to shut down.
28:20I'm going to go into protection mode, and I'm not going to do that because it's too difficult.
28:23And again, back to hope.
28:26And hope, it'll magically all take care of itself.
28:31God will have.
28:32There's 8 billion people on the planet.
28:35God does not have all day, every day, to meddle in the affairs of 8 billion people.
28:44He may intervene at times.
28:47Do you really want to be the one requiring him to have to intervene?
28:53How about you do things for yourself and not be a burden to God and need the help and begging for help and praying for help?
29:04I'm not saying don't pray, obviously, but you know what I mean, right?
29:12What are we doing for us?
29:14It's not in the Bible.
29:16God helps those who help themselves.
29:19But that line was created because it is kind of sort of implied in the context.
29:27If you're willing to help, God will multiply, right?
29:34That word's there.
29:36We'll multiply, not give out a whole cloth, not provide everything from nothing, but multiply your efforts.
29:47Well, God says it in the Bible.
29:48Faith without works is dead.
29:49You know, you have to have faith and you have to put faith based in action.
29:54You can't sit there and say, oh, I wish, I wish, I wish, and expect it just to fall on your lap.
29:57It's not.
29:58You have to put action behind your works.
30:00Even in the parable where Jesus was talking about the three men where the owner, the servant, he gave his servants money and, you know, one of them buried it.
30:11One of them went out, two of them went out and, you know, made more money out of it.
30:15And he called the lazy one the one that just buried the money because they were just hoarding it and they didn't do anything with it.
30:20You know, I gave you some money and you did nothing with it.
30:23And so he, you know, God does talk about in the Bible, you have to act on things in order to make them happen.
30:29He's not just going to just magically appear.
30:32You have to put works behind it.
30:34And, you know, people in the Bible, if you look at people in the Bible, a lot of their stories, the magnificent stories, they didn't happen overnight.
30:42Like David didn't become king overnight.
30:45There was a process, you know, we had to do things.
30:48No, they just want to get to the end glory.
30:51That's the sad part.
30:52And, you know, honestly, I'm not going to sit here and bash people because I was like that.
30:57But I had to change my mindset to get out of that thinking like, you know, I can't be a victim.
31:03I can't always depend on everybody else to come rescue me because they're not, you know, people have their own lives.
31:08And I can't get mad when somebody doesn't want to help me.
31:11I have to help myself.
31:12And so I have to do these things on my own.
31:14And so that's where people miss the mark.
31:16And most people will not go the level that they need to go in order to get what they want.
31:21They'll wish and dream, oh, my gosh, I wish I had this.
31:23And I wish I had that car or that house.
31:25And they won't do the work that it's going to take for them to get out of debt or get out of poverty or get a new job or even excel in their current job, whatever it is, or their current profession.
31:36You know, people won't do that.
31:37And so that's the reality.
31:39And what I'm trying to do with this book is get people to see that.
31:41Like, change your mind.
31:43Change your mindset.
31:45You know, make sure you're trying to, you know, see what you want.
31:49Visualize what you want.
31:50Ask God for what you want.
31:52But also know that you have to put action behind those things that you want in order to get there and stay consistent with it.
32:00You must to reap.
32:02You must sow.
32:03You've got to sow.
32:04Shall be known by your fruits.
32:07Not just your talk, but what you do.
32:10Matthew 23, fake Christians just want the kumbaya, love Jesus, and want to ignore the faith without works, tough love parts of the Bible.
32:25And, right, pretend that she...
32:28See, they want to take segments of it.
32:31Yes.
32:31Use it to their advantage.
32:33I'm like, no.
32:35One of the main reasons why I created the show.
32:39Yeah, faith without works, you have to sow to reap, shall be known by fruit, tough love parts of the Bible many want to just overlook and ignore and think Jesus is a master password to get into heaven.
32:57You just show up at, like, your computer, you forgot your password.
33:03Well, Jesus is the master secret password to get in through the back door.
33:08And it isn't that way.
33:11It says heaven has a gate, which means there is security.
33:17Are you in the book of life or not?
33:19Did you do things to get in the book of life, not to show up?
33:24Jesus said.
33:25I just had to say, Jesus, and here I am.
33:29Right.
33:29That's one thing I'm trying to do more is I am trying to, like, this year I've been very intentional about seeking and praying and waiting and also reading, right?
33:47So, you know, studying the Bible, because, you know, there's a lot of scriptures people quote, and like you said, it's out of context every single time.
33:53It's like, oh, let's do it all the time.
33:57I'm human.
33:58I'm frail.
34:00I'm flawed.
34:00I know I'm older now.
34:02My memory isn't.
34:04Unless if you've got a photographic memory, no one has the whole Bible memorized.
34:12Right.
34:13So.
34:14Right.
34:15But at least you can quote the, or, you know, recall things when there's something that comes up in your life that you need.
34:21And that's, that's the whole purpose of the Bible.
34:23If, as, yeah, if, as we both said, you're using it in proper context.
34:30Correct.
34:30And not trying to distort it.
34:33As, again, oh, saved in the blood.
34:36Jesus is a magic password.
34:38Yes.
34:38No.
34:39Other parts of the Bible give context to that.
34:43But it's part of the puzzle.
34:46Yeah.
34:46Right.
34:47Unless you read.
34:47And even it, I, you know, I used to be a Sunday Christian, you know, go to church on Sunday.
34:51And that was my word for the week.
34:55That was my word for the week.
34:56Whatever the scripture was.
34:58Okay.
34:58That was my word for the week.
34:59I'm good.
34:59But now, I, like I said, I am being more intentional in, you know, praying and seeking and really trying to understand what God, you know, what God intended in his word in every step.
35:12And not just taking context in one passage to my advantage.
35:16I'm trying to be very concerned about.
35:17Yeah.
35:18And Dennis Quaid, I'm jealous in a way.
35:21Right.
35:22Got to be careful with jealousy.
35:24That's right.
35:24Yeah.
35:24I don't covet anybody's stuff.
35:27Right.
35:27But, you know, the lowercase j jealous in a way that he came up with a term because I created Christitutionalist and other words.
35:38But he came up with the word churchianity.
35:43Like you had said, you were a churchianist.
35:47You went to the building with the steeple, but were you really walking the walk out of the church?
35:56And that's a problem, Matthew 23.
35:59And most churches won't talk about the whole Bible.
36:04Again, it's the prosperity doctrine or the feel-good doctrine.
36:09All that tough love stuff.
36:11Jesus overturning the tables and go forth and sin no more.
36:16No.
36:17Forgiveness, but you have to want to try to repent and be better, not just show up to church every week and confess the same sins and, oh, Jesus the magic password.
36:30No.
36:31Jesus said, go forth and sin no more.
36:34You are to want to try at least to be better.
36:39You may fail, but you have to want to try.
36:43Now, we've gone way off the rails.
36:46It's what you were originally here for, for Books Authors Week, why they are winning and you are not, the steps to finding success in life.
36:58So, where can people actually get information about what we should have covered on this show and didn't, your website?
37:08So, they can go and get my book on Amazon.com.
37:11And you can also find me, I'm Kat Sterling or The Real Kat of Atlanta on multiple platforms, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook.
37:19So, I'm out here.
37:20Okay.
37:21And also, I think I'm on a YouTube, but I don't really, I don't really do anything on my YouTube channel.
37:25But yeah, I'm on there.
37:27Yeah.
37:27I'm on there.
37:28But yeah, I can't manage all these platforms.
37:32It's just too much.
37:32And run a business and have kids and be a wife.
37:35You know, it's like, oh my gosh, I'm about to lose my mind.
37:37But at the same time, and I talk about in How to Write a Book and Get It Published, for people who are thinking of writing but don't know where to start.
37:50Or, you know, all those steps in the process, things they might miss, like promotion.
37:57Yes.
37:58So many free social media platforms.
38:01Yes.
38:02It may take some time, but you can't pass up on free promotion.
38:09Correct.
38:09That's going to be your biggest market, free promotion.
38:11Because it's so expensive to mark.
38:12Like, if you want to run ads and things like that, it's so expensive.
38:16And, you know, what I do is also leverage other people's audiences.
38:19So I'm leveraging your audience right now.
38:21There's other podcasts you can go on.
38:23That's part of the process.
38:24Yes.
38:26There's a bazillion podcasts.
38:28If you can't get on a few of them, then again, go in the bathroom, look in the mirror.
38:36What am I doing wrong?
38:38Because a bazillion podcasts are always looking for guests.
38:42I should be able to get on one or two of them here and there.
38:46Yes.
38:47Absolutely.
38:48Absolutely.
38:48That's what I've done.
38:49I've done, you know, you go on these sites, you register, and people call you, just like
38:53you call me.
38:54Right.
38:55The notes I'm holding are from podcastguests.com.
39:00Yes.
39:00We're both members there, hosts and guests.
39:05I'm both there as a host and as a guest for my books, right, to go on other shows to promote
39:13my hearing a dozen books now.
39:16So, yeah, podcastguests.com.
39:21There's Matchmaker FM.
39:23There's Radio Guest List.
39:24I mean, there's all kinds of services, free, some, you could get a free account.
39:32Some have a monthly subscription, yeah.
39:34Yes.
39:34So, again, you can't pass up on free.
39:39Yeah, exactly.
39:40You've got to make use of the free options.
39:47Well, Kat Sterling, it was a lot of fun talking to you again.
39:52And that's my, one of my health issues, OCD.
39:55It's like, whoo, rabbit hole, gotta dive down it.
40:00And we completely went off the rails.
40:04But thank you, Kat Sterling, again, for coming by.
40:10People, check out Why Are They Winning and You Are Not, The Steps to Find Success in Life.
40:17And, yes, I keep reading it to make sure I get it right.
40:22My memory, I don't want to, oh, I know the name.
40:25And then I lined up giving it out wrong.
40:27So, thank you for stopping by.
40:31Take care.
40:31God bless.
40:34I mentioned I had not been out of the state of Michigan since 2006.
40:40Well, I remember now that's not completely accurate.
40:46And it's not about me.
40:48It's about this show's credibility, about dealing in facts, and being honest.
40:57So, yes, during the Wuhan hysteria, and while wretched Whittler still had the state of Michigan locked down,
41:08Governor DeWine of Ohio unlocked his state, should have never locked it down, but unlocked his state early.
41:20And I, on a nice day, chance to get out of the house, chance to get out of the state, even though I don't like putting the extra miles on the car.
41:35I need it to last.
41:37It's got a lot of miles on it.
41:39But, again, it's not about me.
41:40This is about credibility of the show, facts, and honesty.
41:44Right?
41:45So, I drove down to Toledo, ate, even though I couldn't afford to burn the gas, bought, you know, just got Burger King there rather than Burger King here or whatever, McDonald's, whatever it was.
41:58I don't remember.
41:59Not important.
42:00It was something I wanted to see, so it wasn't like I drove there to then pick a random movie they had going.
42:25So, hence, the need for the correction to maintain the credibility here, not, you know, I know you know what I mean.
42:41We're tuning in to books.
42:44There will be several different books, authors, several different authors, books, authors, weeks for October of 2025.
42:53And, remember, you can check out my books at josephmleonard.us slash shop.
43:02And, again, Joseph M. Leonard, it looks French.
43:08It's French.
43:09It's not Lenard.
43:10It's Leonard without an O.
43:12And I have to put the middle initial in there because there is a Joseph Lenard who is also a Christian author out of South Carolina.
43:22So, I have to make that distinction.
43:25And going in line with books, authors of weeks, I've joked as guests on other shows, I am not he, he is not me, and neither of us will be confused for Shakespeare.
43:40And, frankly, most writers out there are not going to be confused for Shakespeare.
43:46They're not trying to be.
43:48There might be a few that, you know, looking for that Renaissance-era feel.
43:53But, hey, it's a new millennia, people.
44:00Right?
44:01This is the here and now.
44:02Well, it isn't Shakespearean Renaissance-era.
44:07If you're looking for Shakespeare, re-read Shakespeare.
44:11Take care.
44:12God bless.
44:13Love you all.
44:14Like and subscribe to the Christitutionalist Politics Podcast and share episodes.

44:57Take care.
44:58God bless.
