00:01Welcome, everybody. Supergirl, the silver lining. Okay, I'm going to try to stick with that.
00:14I know you've probably seen dozens upon dozens of people bashing the film. Is it as bad as they say?
00:26No, it's worse. But is there a silver lining? Can we glass half full this rather than glass half empty
00:40it?
00:41I'm going to try. Now, all the Millie joke about her last name aside, I'm going to skip.
00:53Yep. All the, did she Rachel Ziegler the film with all the things she said stuff aside?
01:02You've probably heard and seen all that already. I don't feel like I need to cover that all again.
01:12And the farcical formulaic-ness of the film and the whole Star Wars cantina scene copy idiocy.
01:26The Don't Mad Max My Supergirl movie or Don't Badman Our Supergirl.
01:35Supergirl used to be a positive moral character from the start and now they tried to dark knight her.
01:43All that negativity, all that negativity, this, negativity, pardon, happens all the time.
01:53They record mouth and brain, don't want to cooperate.
01:56All that negativity aside, yes, it's bad.
02:02Is it the Supergirl we wanted?
02:08Certainly not the one I wanted.
02:11Is it the Supergirl we expected?
02:15I don't think so.
02:20Is it the Supergirl we need?
02:24Well, okay.
02:26Okay, that's where we might be able to find the silver lining.
02:35In the film, only minor spoiler, you've probably seen this as part of a teaser or trailer already.
02:46So, I'm not giving away anything big here.
02:50I don't want, I already did the cantina scene and the Mad Max-y kind of thing.
02:55Is this kind of a Rob Zombie film gone overboard?
03:01Yeah.
03:03It probably would have been better if Rob Zombie were directing it.
03:08And Jason Momoa basically the, hey, I'm here to pretend I'm in a Rob Zombie video.
03:16But all that aside, the backstory when it finally gets to it.
03:23And to that point, I was this close to getting up and walking out of the movie.
03:30But the silver lining, I can't talk again.
03:37The silver lining.
03:38Is there any redeeming values, principles, quality message in this movie?
03:48Yes.
03:50When we finally get to the backstory.
03:54And Supergirl's mom says, promise me one thing.
04:02You will be good.
04:05You don't.
04:06That doesn't mean you can't be tough.
04:10That doesn't mean you have to be back, bend over backwards, bubbly, nice, kind, on the exterior all the time.
04:22But you need to be good.
04:26There's redeeming value and quality in that.
04:31And again, is this the Supergirl we wanted?
04:35No.
04:36The Supergirl we expected?
04:38No.
04:39The Supergirl we needed for these times?
04:44Yes.
04:45But will the younger generation get the message?
04:52The she's lazy, entitled brat.
04:57Oh, woe is me.
04:59I deserve a better lot in life.
05:01You should just hand me stuff.
05:04I should be given better than what I've got.
05:09And I shouldn't have to work to earn any of it mentality.
05:15Growing the need to grow out of that message?
05:19Yes, a silver lining, good, redeeming quality point.
05:25But again, will those that need the message get it?
05:31Or will it just go, speeding past her like a faster than a speeding bullet?
05:39I don't know.
05:41We'll see.
05:42So, I give the film a C.
05:48The blockbuster films this year, I've been joking, aren't very blockbuster-y.
05:56Disclosure was a major disappointment.
06:00Project Hail Mary was great.
06:02I saw that several times.
06:04I thought that exceeded expectations.
06:08Disclosure, major disappointment.
06:10I give that a B minus.
06:13Even Toy Story 5, you could go to Maverick News Freedom Reporters channel on Rumble.
06:21I was on with Rick Walker over the last several weeks.
06:26We discussed the Michael movie.
06:29Again, is it glossing over some things?
06:34Yeah.
06:34Did it get everything right?
06:36I know some of the timetable is screwed up.
06:39But is it the film we need for now?
06:43Yeah.
06:45Can we try to be better to one another?
06:48So, I'm glad they made the Michael film, even though I'm suspect of their motives, that the family just, oh,
07:00one last chance to ride Michael's coattails and get us some money because we're broke now.
07:07But is it the film we needed?
07:09Yeah.
07:09So, I give Michael a B plus.
07:12Does he look like Michael?
07:14No, not really.
07:15But from far during the performance scenes, oh, my God, it's like Michael Jackson's still alive.
07:22But this is about Supergirl.
07:25Stupor Girl.
07:26Or the lazy, ditzy bitch in the cute dog movie.
07:31Or a.k.a. Supergirl in Mad Max Saga.
07:36Yeah, all those negative things.
07:38Now, I'm jokingly saying the lazy, ditzy bitch in the cute dog.
07:45I'm not pulling that out of a hat just to be cute and clever jokes to you.
07:51It comes out of the trailers.
07:54The Momoa character calls her a ditz.
07:58So, I use it.
07:59She herself says, remember me?
08:01I'm the bitch whose dog you shot.
08:03So, yeah, I use that.
08:06Is it bad?
08:07I can't say it enough.
08:08This is a bad film.
08:10But is it worth saying, okay, as long as you don't have the, oh, my God, this is supposed to
08:18be a summer blockbuster expectations.
08:21Okay, you'll enjoy it.
08:24You should be able to enjoy it as long as you expect a average movie, not the summer blockbuster it's
08:34being sold as being.
08:37So, will people get the good underlying, you can, I need you to be good.
08:47It doesn't mean you can't be tough.
08:49It doesn't mean you have to be overly backwards, bend over backwards, bubbly, nice, and, you know, all the time.
09:00And Ruthie later in the movie says, you know, to her, you may not be kind, but you are good.
09:09The usual formulaic callback stuff.
09:15This is very formulaic.
09:16The only thing missing in this film is the romantic and a sex scene.
09:24Other than that, it's a formula film.
09:27It's, it's, oh, again, Rob Zombie's music video on steroids overextended to an hour and whatever minutes it is.
09:38It could have actually been better, in my opinion, had they made it a two-hour and 10, 15-minute
09:46film and dealt a little more in the other character backstories and filled it a little better and added a
09:57little more to it.
09:58The Momoa character, shallow, but, you know, bounty hunter.
10:03Do we need to know much about his backstory?
10:06We know what his motivations are.
10:08But Ruthie, pardon me, it seems got the short stress.
10:15Now, I've never read the comics, Woman of Tomorrow.
10:18If this is the Woman of Tomorrow, God help us.
10:22But by the end of the film, the closing part of the film, we have that hope again.
10:30That hope that Supergirl and Superman were always supposed to give us and bring us the truth, justice, and the
10:40American way.
10:41And we stand for good.
10:44We stand against evil.
10:46Well, that's there at the end, but, boy, it seemed like it took three hours to get there.
10:53And, as I said, if they could spend more time giving Ruthie character what I understand people are saying from
11:03the comic books,
11:05her almost a more true grit-style depth to her.
11:09I heard another reviewer say a young Kill Bill without the any of the positives.
11:18She's just along for the ride.
11:21It's like, what?
11:23Yeah, she's there for the, minor spoiler, the revenge.
11:28Oh, my God, revenge will ruin you, right?
11:31You've got to be for good and justice, but there has to be the Nuremberg trials.
11:36You can't be the judge, the jury, and the executioner.
11:41You can bring them to justice, put them on trial.
11:45They can be put to death, but due process, the American way, truth, justice, and the American way.
11:55Okay, at any rate, I think I'm just going to wrap this up with that.
12:01So, is there a silver lining?
12:03Yes, there can be, for those willing to look deep enough into the film for it.
12:11Is it worth saying, as long as your expectations are it's an average film?
12:18Okay, you probably, oh, excuse me, it just came from lunch.
12:23It's causing me the burps.
12:26You should be able to enjoy it in that.
12:30But, yeah, this is no big summer blockbuster.
12:34Yeah, they're going to lose their ass on this film.
12:37Did she Rachel Ziegler?
12:40I don't know.
12:42I think the studio didn't learn the lesson and kind of thought the old exact attitude of the 60s.
12:52What was the, oh, I forget the series that everybody loved.
12:57I didn't watch the mad ad stuff.
13:03No press, bad press isn't even bad press.
13:07It still means they're talking about you.
13:09Well, it's hurting this film.
13:12Millie's mouth hurt this film.
13:16But Millie's acting isn't the problem here.
13:18The problem is the script.
13:20The problem is the script.
13:22It's not the people acting in the film.
13:26It's the script.
13:27It really is.
13:28So, at any rate, yeah, I will encourage you to see it.
13:34Met me.
13:36Don't spend the extra.
13:38I went for the early IMAX super fan experience sneak preview before anybody else gets to see it kind of
13:48thing.
13:49What a waste of my money in so doing.
13:52See a matinee in the regular theater.
13:54Save some money.
13:58And it'll be okay.
14:01Anyway.
14:01With that, thank you all for tuning in.
14:07Take care.
14:08I know you've seen all the other videos just completely trashing it.
14:13I wanted to be different.
14:15At least try to deliver some silver lining in this train wreck that it is.
14:23Thank you all.
14:25Take care.
14:25God bless.

14:34We need your help.
14:59Where have all the positive films gone?
15:04Lift folks up rather than tear society down.
15:10We need more encouragement, not lost but found.
15:15But less detour to destruction, more upward honor bound.
15:21Put some light in the frame.
15:23Let the broken breathe again.
15:26Trade the doubt for a name.
15:28That says you can win.
15:31Bring the good back.
15:37Bring the good back.
15:41Bring the good back now.
15:47Give me heroes with dirty hands.
15:50It's not perfect lines, just a helping plan.
15:53Kids need a reason to believe.
15:56Not another scar to wear and grieve.
15:59Put some light in the frame.
16:01Let the broken breathe again.
16:04Trade the doubt for a name.
16:06That says you can win.
16:09Bring the good back.
16:14Bring the good back.
16:18Bring the good back now.
16:30Bring the good back now.
16:36Show me a door we can open wide.
16:39Show me a hand on the other side
16:41If the world keeps leaning hard
16:44We can still leave a kinder mark
16:49Bring the good back
16:51Bring the good back
16:55Bring the good back
16:57Bring the good back
16:59Bring the good back now
17:05Bring the good back
17:09Bring the good back now
17:13Bring the good back
17:18Bring the good back
17:43Only thing necessary
17:47For evil prevail
17:50What they say
17:52Good peoples do nothing
17:54Doing nothing
17:55The state with most today
18:02The world keeps turning
18:05A dark, strange place
18:09Good folks are yearning
18:13For a saving grace
18:16The ship has sailed, they say
18:20On a troubled tide
18:24But what do you do today
18:28With nowhere to hide
18:31Questions I've been asking
18:35In all my writings
18:37What's your move?
18:40Just what about is it
18:43You're willing to try to do?
18:48Evil prevails
18:51When good just leaves
18:54Light sometimes fails
18:58While the darkness creeps
19:01What are you doing now?
19:05Tell me, tell me
19:06How will you take a vow
19:10For all to see
19:18The news it screams
19:20A broken sound
19:21Lost in bad dreams
19:23On hallowed ground
19:25They say it's all lost cause
19:27A losing fight
19:29But what about your applause
19:31For what is right?
19:33Only thing it takes for shadow
19:35To prevail
19:36Is a crowd of quiet hearts
19:38Scroll and sigh
19:39Then turn away
19:41Say
19:42This world is torn apart
19:47It's gone out past the rusted pier
19:51We just watch it fade
19:55On this falling ground
19:57We're standing
19:58Still afraid to wait
20:02So what are you doing?
20:05What are you doing now?
20:10To help the light
20:12Help the light
20:13Help the light
20:14Break through the doubt
20:17Are you just waiting
20:20For someone else to move?
20:25Or will you stand
20:26Will you stand
20:27Will you stand
20:28And be the proof?
20:31Tell me
20:32What are you doing?
20:39What are you doing?
20:49Good folks in a quiet room
20:51Hands clean
20:52Eyes closed
20:53Say someday I'll make a change
20:55Someday never shows
20:57Every hurt you walk right past
20:59Cuts a deeper line
21:00Every that's not up to me
21:02Helps the dark align
21:04So what are you doing?
21:07What are you doing now?
21:12To help the light
21:14Help the light
21:15Help the light
21:16Break through the doubt
21:19Are you just waiting
21:21For someone else to move?
21:26Will you stand
21:28Will you stand
21:29Will you stand
21:30Will you stand
21:30And be the proof?
21:33Tell me what are you doing?
21:38What are you doing?
21:42What are you doing?
21:50It's a hard, hard question
21:53Looking back at you
21:54Yeah, in the mirror
21:55In the silence
21:56You already know what's true
21:58If you're breathing
21:59You're required to answer
22:01With your life
22:02Every minute that you're giving
22:04Takes a sigh
