00:00Missouri taking on Vanderbilt.
00:02How about those Commodores?
00:033.30 p.m. Eastern, two-and-a-half-point favorites.
00:06One of these two teams, Paul, is going to feel really, really good
00:09about their college football playoff chances after the week.
00:11I've got to tell you that.
00:12Two-and-a-half is the line, and also total 52-and-a-half.
00:18Best season that I can remember for Vandy in a long time.
00:21Does that continue this week?
00:23I'll tell you, it's a big game, like you said,
00:25not only for Vanderbilt, but for visiting Missouri as well.
00:29The ESPN College Game Day coming to Nashville
00:32for only the second time in the show's history.
00:35They were there back in 2008.
00:38Vandy upset Auburn on that occasion 14-13,
00:43and season kind of went downhill for the Commodores from that point
00:47for whatever that's worth.
00:48But, you know, looking first of all at Missouri,
00:51this is a team that kind of waltzed out to a 5-0 start
00:54against a fairly manageable September schedule.
00:59But they have now split a couple of hotly contested matchups
01:03the past two Saturdays.
01:05First of all, they fell at home to Alabama 27-24 a couple of weeks ago.
01:11And then this past weekend rallied to defeat Auburn 23-17.
01:17So they've had two in double overtime at that.
01:19So they've had two highly competitive games their last two games.
01:23And now the Tigers have to travel for their second straight week,
01:27headed again to Nashville to face Diego Pavia in the Vanderbilt Commodores.
01:33You know, the main advantage, kind of the impetus for my handicap here,
01:37siding with the Vanderbilt side, is at that critical quarterback position.
01:42I just love Diego Pavia.
01:45I give him a healthy edge over Missouri's first-year starting quarterback,
01:50the transfer from Penn State, Bo Perbula.
01:53Perbula, in each of his last two games, the two highly contested games I mentioned,
01:58he threw two interceptions in both those games.
02:01So he's thrown four interceptions in his last two games.
02:04The Tigers in those games, negative one in that critical turnover margin category in both those games.
02:11So, you know, you've got to feel like it's difficult to handicap the turnover component of a game.
02:17But you've got to feel like Vanderbilt's got a chance to at least hold serve
02:21or maybe even be on the positive in the turnover category.
02:26Again, Missouri off back-to-back, games down to the wire, traveling for the second straight week.
02:32Vanderbilt's going to be energized by the game day appearance and that total experience.
02:38And, again, they've got that Diego Pavia magic, the Diego Pavia effect, whatever you want to call it.
02:44The Commodores, they're 20-6 against the spread.
02:48Actually, 14-6, I should say, 14-6 against the spread since Pavia arrived on campus prior to the start of last season.
02:56Give me Vanderbilt, minus 2.5 over Missouri Saturday in Music City.
