00:00Rodrigo, you are kind of a villain, one of the most sneaky and creepy ones.
00:06But what I really like of your character are the trousers.
00:12The trousers.
00:14You know, the outfit define the character.
00:18No, but I'm joking.
00:19Did you have fun to play him?
00:22A lot, a lot of fun.
00:25It is, I work with a lot of makeup, you know, to become this character.
00:31There was a big transformation and that's always fun to play.
00:36It's a very contradictory character that, you know, on the surface he appears to be confident in a salesman
00:45and a guy that knows exactly what he's doing.
00:48And all of a sudden he's very scared, like a little bambino.
00:52And then it's very interesting because he has both sides.
00:57So it's an interesting character to play.
01:00It was fun.
01:02Always the best character and the best one to play.
01:05I think so, as an actor.
01:07Yeah?
01:08Yeah.
01:08Yeah, because they create trouble.
01:12They create trouble.
01:14And with trouble comes the conflict.
01:16And conflict is always interesting to play.
01:19They're challenging, but they're fun.
01:23And, yeah, as you say, there are so many shades, you know.
01:27But do you think this movie could be a reflection of our society as we need more strength and power to fight what is wrong and dangerous?
01:40Yeah, there's a lot of metaphors in the film that I think that speaks directly to what we're living in the world today.
01:50The main one, I think, is the desperation, the human desperation for power.
01:57What people do to become powerful.
02:01And when I say power, it's in a general way.
02:04And they say in the movie, you know, it can kill you or it can work and give you five minutes of superpower.
02:12Would you risk it?
02:13And people are so desperate to have power that they take it.
02:18Some people die.
02:20So right there, it's already a big metaphor of how we are living.
02:26You know, what are our values, how we live in the world.
02:29And I think especially now we're in such a delicate, unique moment that we are all thinking about the world and how important it is to have empathy and to understand that we are collective and not only an individual.
02:48We depend on each other.
02:51Whatever happens in the other side of the world influences in my life here.
02:54So we need to take care of each other all over.
02:59So power, you know, it's not everything.
03:03But I let the audience, you know, they take whatever messages they want to take from the film.
03:09But, yes, there's a lot of metaphors that talks about the world today.
03:14So, Jamie, this is what your character says to Dominic in one of the scenes.
03:20You are young.
03:21You are black.
03:22You are a woman and the system is designed to swallow you in.
03:27It's something really hard to say and something really hard to hear.
03:31What do you think about it?
03:32Is it true?
03:34I think if you sort of lay on that line, you can make it whatever you want.
03:39It's like when you're watching the movie, it's like part of just a journey.
03:45It's part of, you know, everything that we talk about.
03:47And it's something that he's trying to, you know, instill in Robin something.
03:54You know, it's a it's the beginning of a sentence that they won't complete that sentence until the end of the movie, letting her know that there is this power inside of her and things like that.
04:05So, you know, it's like I said, it's always good to have that human layer in it.
04:11But, you know, I said, you know, this movie, you know, is escapism is about some, you know, about some incredible journeys of Dominic's character on and off the set.
04:27When I hear that line, I think, no, this is definitely true, but it doesn't have to remain true because once you become aware of something, then you have the ability to change it or overcome it and not let it define who you are.
04:43And what kind of power we need to change the system?
04:50The power of courage and understanding.
04:54It's like a lot of people are afraid to challenge that power, like somehow we'll just close our eyes, stick our head in the sand, and these problems will go away.
05:07They don't go away like that.
05:08So you got to stand up to it, look it in the eye, and then turn the music on and dance.
05:16Turn the music on and dance it away.
05:18Make them just melt every, just get that.
05:23Shoulders.
05:24Shoulders.
05:25Shoulders.
05:26High contact.
05:27Okay, I'm going to do it.
05:29There you go.
05:29All right.
05:30Okay.
05:30Thank you.
05:33Thank you.
