01:00In one of the scenes, Ryan Reynolds said to The Rock, what brings you to Rome?

01:04So what did you find in Rome?

01:07Well, Gelato, Colosseum.

01:10I love Rome.

01:12It's the eternal city.

01:13It's my favorite city in the world.

01:15My wife and I went to Rome for our honeymoon.

01:19And that was my first time ever in Rome.

01:21And I'd always wanted to go.

01:23I was a classics minor in college.

01:25And I fell in love with the city right there.

01:28And in fact, my wife said to me, can't you write a movie for where we want to go on vacation?

01:33And so I said, exterior Rome day.

01:37And that's how this whole thing started.

01:39So Rome is, you know, if I could live anywhere, I'd live in Rome.

01:43That's for sure.

01:43Amazing.

01:46As we can see, what brings all the characters together is the father issues, you know?

01:52And then they create these dysfunctional families, kind of.

01:57So how did you create this story between the characters?

02:01Well, I mean, it's a lot of time and thought and effort and trying to balance those arcs.

02:07And certainly they all have, you know, you're the first person to mention that.

02:11I'm so glad you noticed.

02:13They all have issues with their dad.

02:15And I, you know, I think there's something to that.

02:19I think that, you know, parents are so important.

02:21I'm a parent myself.

02:22I've got three little ones.

02:24And I think raising children, I've learned how important parenting is and how much effect

02:32it can have.

02:33And I think that's something I wanted to, I mean, Red Notice is not a serious movie.

02:37I didn't want to overstate it, but I thought a little touch of that might go a long way.

02:42And I counted all the references inside the movie, Titanic, Jurassic Park, Game of Thrones.

02:49I mean, I don't want to say any spoiler, but that scene is amazing.

02:54So how nerd you are to find a way to put inside Red Notice all these, you know, references?

03:01Oh, you know, it's just something I love.

03:06I mean, Red Notice is a movie for people who love movies and I'm one of those people.

03:11And so, you know, it always made me laugh to kind of put these little winks and little

03:15nods throughout the film.

03:18So if you're paying attention, you might get a chuckle.

03:21So, yeah, that was the thinking behind it.

03:24So I was asking you about the souvenir from the set, but I can see the eggs in your bag.

03:34Did you have any other souvenirs?

03:37I actually have all three of Cleopatra's eggs at home.

03:40They're on my mantle.

03:41And that's a cool part of getting to direct a movie.
