Ecco la nostra intervista.
Trascrizione
00:00La storia è molto viscerale, molto intensa. Quali sono stati gli spunti che hanno portato alla nascita di questo tipo di racconto?
00:30Il risultato di un'immagine che si è un'immagine di un'immagine di un'immagine di un'immagine di religione.
01:00in nature and in those kind of landscapes.
01:04So it was thinking about the parable of the Good Shepherd
01:08and what would happen if, when he's going to rescue this lost soul,
01:12someone came and massacred his flock.
01:14And then there were these real instances in Northern England
01:18where gangs were coming in and cutting the hind legs off sheep
01:21and just letting them bleed out.
01:23And that brutality felt like it was a real sort of...
01:27pushing that into the story would be really visceral.
01:31Why would people, you know, the lack of sort of humanity
01:35and that was very interesting to me.
01:37La natura, questa natura splendida,
01:40ma apparentemente difficile in cui ambientato il film,
01:44modifica in qualche modo il comportamento
01:47e la personalità di queste persone così ruvide?
01:51I think so.
01:52And I think there's, you know,
01:55there's a strange disconnect because we, you know,
01:59as human beings, we've spent centuries living in the land
02:04and having a very close relationship with nature
02:07and how we feed ourselves and how we shelter.
02:10And now we kind of put concrete over it and we build things.
02:14and we're sort of hiding, you know,
02:18our connection with the earth is really disconnected.
02:22But also, you know, in this country, in the UK
02:26and all over Europe, there's such a long history
02:29and there's so much has happened.
02:32And I feel like it lives and it's retained in that environment.
02:38And so there's, I think when we walk into that space,
02:41we can feel a really strong connection.
02:43And so where we, where we, where we brought up in, you know,
02:48I feel like I, when I'm walking in Cumbria,
02:52that's when I'm at my most peaceful and centered.
02:57Anywhere else in the world just doesn't feel the same.
03:00and I feel, it feels like home.
03:23Come, the history.
03:26The history of, like, his own personal history,
03:29his own and the struggles.
03:32He's had.
03:35I think he feels, he feels a failure in terms of,
03:38you know, he feels victimized.
03:43He lost his wife.
03:45He had to raise his son .
03:49Well, not raise him.
03:50era già un ragazzo, ma il ragazzo di una madre è sempre stato lì, e anche i suoi
04:02fai, inizialmente, era chiaro, magari era un attimo inizio di script, ma Ray voleva
04:11a acquire that farm that Jack now lives on. Ray wanted to buy that farm and failed and
04:24then this guy gets it and then it becomes a competitive thing and then the girlfriend
04:31of his son marries into that and he's surrounded by these frustrations and that builds and
04:41builds and I think he's, we never discussed this actually but I'm not sure, when he said
04:47bring me his head, I don't think he really needs that, literally, but that is that frustrations.
04:57Yeah exactly, yeah and so you know when Chris brings me there I'm shocked by that you know
05:09and he's like, me too. Yeah yeah right, right. It was very. So yeah I mean he's driven by
05:17so many things you know it's a wonderful complex character in that way. Thank you, thank you
05:23very much. You're very welcome.
05:25Thank you.
05:27Thank you.
05:31Thank you.
05:33Thank you.
