00:00Hello and thank you for this beautiful show. How would you describe your character in a few words?

00:07Who are Stephen and Harvey? Stephen is the chief of police in the fictional town of Umberland.

00:18He's in a relationship with Michelle, the lead character, and he has had his heart broken and

00:25he goes on a destructive trail, much like a lot of the characters in this. But in a few words,

00:33he's the chief of police. And I'm the chief of police. Say hello to chief of fire, Harvey Englehart.

00:43Been at the department a long time, seen it all. And as you said, these characters are shady.

00:50There are no, no one is totally good. No one is totally bad, like in real life. So,

00:57what was the biggest challenge in portraying such a complex character?

01:02Well, I worked with Dennis on Blackbird and I, you know, the character I had in that actually was

01:10was a pretty good guy through and through and maybe the only one. And this was,

01:16was Harvey's more complicated. Like you say, I think all the characters in this story.

01:25There's one guy who kind of knows who he is and what he is and doesn't change, but everybody else

01:30has kind of got a few different, you know, multiple sides to them. And, and subsequently have a lot of,

01:38you know, controversies maybe going on in their own journeys. And, and, but at the end of the day,

01:49some fires have started in this small town and

01:54we're trying to find out why. And, and Harvey is trying to find out how to put an end to this,

02:01because it's not only compromising his job, it's compromising, I think his exit strategy for a

02:09simple, quiet retirement.

02:11Did you participate in some ways to this character or, uh, was everything on the page from the beginning?

02:20Uh, yeah, everything was on the page. Uh, because, um, when you've got writing of this quality,

02:27it's one's duty as an actor to, to deliver it. Yeah. Look, the challenge is acting. I find to be

02:34both the easiest and hardest thing to do at the same time. I don't know about you.

02:39Yeah. That's well said. I don't know what it means, but I, I'm going to adapt it for all my answers.
