00:00You saw Carson Beck at the end of the press conference, Coach,
00:03sort of say that the wide receiver threw the wrong route.
00:06Thoughts about his press conference as the leader of that team.
00:10Let's not forget he came from Georgia,
00:12one of the top teams and country and organizations in the program.
00:17Thoughts about his performance on Friday night as a whole?
00:20Well, anytime, I would tell my players after a loss,
00:23don't you dare talk about yourself or your team.
00:27Talk about the other team.
00:28Give them credit, praise them, and say we've got to come out there,
00:32work hard, and play better.
00:34Don't say anything that you might regret
00:36or try to take or place blame where you're not sure it needs to go.
00:41I'm going to say this.
00:42I don't think Miami took the game lightly.
00:44I think Jeff Brom did a great job knowing that he had an off week and Miami,
00:50and he was the underdog by 13 and a half.
00:53When you're the play-calling head coach,
00:55he went out there and changed completely some of the things he did offensively.
00:59He got 14 points out of the off week.
01:01Came out there, played three quarterbacks at the same time on several plays.
01:06Faked a field goal.
01:08Things you can't do unless you have an off week.
01:10And if you're the favorite team in an off week, as a head coach,
01:15you don't say, let's just do what we do.
01:17Let's don't make mistakes.
01:17Let's play hard and don't make mistakes.
01:19But if you're an underdog, like Louisville was, and you're the head coach who calls,
01:24but you're going to say, you know what, we need to find something to do.
01:26We've got to find some wrinkles that can get us some early points.
01:30And that was the point I was trying to make.
01:31Jeff Brom did a great job of getting 14 points off of his off week
01:36when Miami wasn't ready for what they were doing formation-wise.
01:40And then the fake field goal is something that you can only put in probably in an off week
01:44to practice it over and over again.
01:46Jeff Brom is an AP top 10 killer, did it during his days in West Lafayette
01:51with Purdue, knocking off teams like Ohio State as a 29-and-a-half-point underdog,
01:56did it yet again on Friday night.
01:59And a coach, Coach, that I think that you have mentioned,
02:02maybe not maybe mentioned in some of the circles for some of the bigger jobs like Penn State,
02:07but you certainly believe resume-wise Jeff Brom is as good as it gets.
02:12Well, I mean, who's the winningest coach in the ACC over the last three years?
02:17Dabo Sweeney, no.
02:18Mario Cristobal, no.
02:20It's Jeff Brom.
02:21He's the winningest coach in the ACC.
02:23Now, he played at Louisville.
02:25You know, head coach at Western Kentucky, head coach at Purdue, head coach at Louisville.
02:29I don't know if he – that's his alma mater.
02:32I'm just saying is if you want a head coach that controls the offense,
02:36develops quarterbacks, and is winning football games everywhere he's got,
02:40nobody has a better resume than him.
02:42So whether anybody goes after him, I'm not sure he cares.
02:45He is at the school he played, his alma mater.
02:48But I'm going to tell you, he's one of the best – I know, I know.
02:51I watch him call plays.
02:52I watch him turn programs around.
02:54He's one of the best head coaches in the country.
02:56I watch him turn programs.
