00:00Are you hearing anything around the Minnesota Vikings quarterback situation
00:03as Carson Wentz is going to get the start once again?
00:06Yeah, all right.
00:07So, Kevin, you brought this up a number of weeks ago.
00:10Would there be a chance that Wentz would keep the job?
00:13And I said, listen, first of all, he's got to play well, which he has, okay?
00:17He's 2-1.
00:19The first game against the Bengals, he literally had to do nothing.
00:22I mean, they blew out the Bengals.
00:23The game wasn't even competitive.
00:25Then the Pittsburgh game, now he had a couple interceptions.
00:27There were a couple drops in that game, but he did bring the team back to make it tight.
00:32And as one league source told me against Cleveland, this is the best he's looked since 2021.
00:36He was terrific in the game before the bye.
00:39Now, it's funny, Kevin, I told you this Friday.
00:41I was going to tell you who I had to talk with, a former Eagle.
00:45I asked him, I said, it was Mike Mimola.
00:48Mike Mimola was the Eagle's first-round pick in 1995.
00:50Remember, they traded up for him, the seventh pick overall.
00:53I said, Mike, what would you do?
00:54What would you want to see happen here?
00:56If Carson Wentz was your quarterback or was the veteran, and then you had the first-round pick, he goes, we stick with the veteran.
01:05Because your responsibility is, he and I talked about this on WBCB radio, on the Pro Football Report.
01:10He said it.
01:12You stick with the veteran.
01:13Your job is to win football games.
01:15And Wentz, Kevin, quite frankly, this game two weeks ago against Cleveland, everything was clean.
01:21I was told by a league source who watched that tape.
01:24Mechanics were clean, and he's had major problems with his mechanics.
01:28It's called the overstride when the feet are spread too far apart, and it causes the ball to go too high.
01:33He looked really good, and they're in a rhythm right now, and it wouldn't be ironic.
01:37Now, the last time, Kevin, he played the Eagles was when he was with the commanders, and he was absolutely terrible.
01:42But right now, he looks really good.
01:43And the other thing is, Kevin, before we move on, he looks healthy.
01:47He's not dragging that leg that was surgically repaired in 2017.
01:51Cap, Mike McMuller went to Chestnut Hill, Boston College.
01:55Remember him very well.
01:57They need a little help on the defensive side of the ball after the loss to UConn yesterday.
02:02But talk to me about the head coaching vacancy in Tennessee.
02:06Tennessee takes on their former head coach, Mike Vrabel.
02:10New England significant favorites against Cam Ward.
02:13Where does this organization go, and how much hinges on the success in this season on Cam Ward developing as a quarterback?
02:22Well, it won't matter because if you're any offensive coach that studied Cam Ward, you know what his college tape looked like.
02:29Extremely intriguing.
02:31He doesn't have a lot of help there.
02:33The belief around the league has been for several weeks, if and when, and they did, let go of Brian Callahan,
02:39that they would look for a coach from the offensive side of the football.
02:41The two names I'd been given weeks ago, we'll move them forward here, is Arthur Smith, a 10-year assistant for the Titans.
02:49Worked his way up from quality control to tight ends to OC.
02:54And obviously, he would move on to the Falcons to become a head coach.
02:59I know it didn't work out for him with the Falcons, but he's done a good job.
03:04I know that the Steelers are pretty happy with him as their offense coordinator.
03:07He's very well liked by ownership there in Tennessee, I'm told.
03:10And then Matt Nagy was a direct connection to General Manager Mike Borgonzi.
03:14They worked together for a number of years with the Chiefs.
03:17Obviously, Nagy's work with Patrick Mahomes is a big factor there.
03:21One name, and we'll add names as we go along, but the other name that I've been given is Joe Brady,
03:27the offense coordinator for the Bills, who did a great job.
03:29I've got to give this guy credit, Joe.
03:31He's rebuilt his career.
03:33I hear you.
03:35But he's a really smart guy.
03:37Now, he's very young.
03:39If you're a guy who wants to be a head coach or an offense coordinator, that's the difference here.
03:42But he's going to get a look.
03:43Trust me.
03:44He's done a great job with Josh Allen.
03:46After getting fired from the Panthers three years ago, midseason, he's done a great job to revive his career.
