00:06Sophie Cunningham joined the Fever through a trade during the offseason after dedicating

00:10the first six years of her professional career to the Phoenix Mercury.

00:13Unfortunately, her season was interrupted by a knee injury in August.

00:17However, Cunningham's distinctive skill set provided the Fever with valuable contributions

00:21on both offense and defense.

00:23She quickly won over Fever fans with her determination and competitive nature, often engaging with

00:28the audience and fully embracing the intense emotions that accompanied the game.

00:32This season, Cunningham achieved her best shooting performance in her WNBA career while playing

00:37for Indiana.

00:38She recorded impressive shooting percentages of 46.9% from the field and 43.2% from beyond

00:45the arc, both of which are career highs.

00:47Her consistent long-range shooting was a significant asset throughout the season, enabling the Fever

01:22She brings a lot of energy and fun to the team, which is evident right away.

01:26However, we also have a roster full of competitors who are driven to win.

01:30A common theme among all the moves we made during free agency is that we have brought in players

01:35with high basketball IQs and a strong competitive spirit.

01:39When you ask each of them about their top priority, it is always winning.

01:44Sophie Cunningham embodies that same mindset.

01:46This season, Cunningham recorded her second career double-double in a July game against

01:51the Atlanta Dream, contributing 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the Fever achieve a

01:57crucial victory for playoff positioning.

01:59Her highest-scoring game this season was 18 points, where she successfully made five out

02:04of eight attempts from beyond the arc against Phoenix.

02:07In August, Cunningham achieved the remarkable feat of playing against the Mercury, an accomplishment

02:12she managed twice during the season.

02:13Unfortunately, during Indiana's last game against the Connecticut Sun on August 17th,

02:19Cunningham suffered a torn right MCL when a player from the Sun collided with her knee.

02:24This injury cut her season short, but she remained committed to supporting her teammates in the

02:28Fever locker room and other capacities.

02:31Alongside other injured players, Cunningham helped maintain a positive atmosphere on the

02:35bench throughout Indiana's playoff journey.

02:38She actively participated in team huddles and contributed to strategizing from the sidelines.

02:42As a free agent this offseason, Cunningham has openly expressed her desire to return to the

02:47Midwest.

02:48She enjoyed the fever's meals of scalloped potatoes and meatloaf after practices and

02:53looked forward to reconnecting with Midwestern culture after spending six years in Phoenix.
