02:21still does not get the recognition he deserves and he is one of the best receivers seattle will play
02:26this season he is great in against the zone yeah this needs to be a this needs to be a nico game man
02:34uh as much as you know d'amico's out there saying we got to run the ball we're going to double down we're
02:40going to you know really do what we do best even more as we talked about i think day before
02:43yesterday he went on to say this in terms of uh uh you know against the run and such let me just
02:51read the whole thing here see what you think the left side of the texans offensive line is weaker
02:55than almost any seattle has faced to this point rookie ariante ursery is a major project as a pass
03:01protector and scruggs is a former center who is now trying guard but what really stands out about the
03:07texans pass protection problems they are allowing the highest pressure rate in the nfl by non-offensive
03:13linemen in other words their running backs and tight ends have been atrocious in pass protection
03:18agree mcdonald should be spoiled for choice in creating his pass rush plan as the seahawks front
03:29four can win their matchups but there will also be ample opportunity uh to send their defensive front
03:34if he choose their linebackers if he chooses the texans have not won a game when they rush for fewer
03:39than 114 yards but seattle has only allowed one team to rush for more than 114 yards yeah it's going
03:46to be tough to run and they're going to injure it in the secondary and they don't they they're
03:51susceptible in zone coverage and the texans are the best in the league against zone coverage
03:56this is a nico collins game yeah i mean if if you truly um want to live by the mantra that this team
04:03has told us in the off season that you're a game plan offense to be fair the game plan to a layman
04:09looks like run the football yeah not gonna be easy throw the football should be easier can you get to
04:15those things now of course football is never that simple otherwise you know we dudes would not be
04:21getting paid you know millions upon millions of dollars to try and figure this out and you know
04:25there's always that they get paid to portion of this but it does feel like you're going to need to
04:31try and find some some explosive pops uh uh throwing that ball down the field especially
04:36because like take advantage of a weakness in here like you mentioned we're going to get an injury
04:40report but they're missing they've been missing the likes of wool uh to read woolen and uh you know
04:45witherspoon and uh forget the safety's name off the top of my head right this moment but they've been
04:50dealing with injuries in that in that secondary and teams have been able to capitalize including
04:54if i remember correctly uh i think that the niners did a decent
04:58job i think they should be able to do that and the thing that comes to mind for me though is
05:05how much will it be a nico specific game because in the two games that we've seen where the offenses
05:11come on versus the titans versus the ravens there's been a nice distribution all the way across right
05:18with nico still getting the lot i mean but he's great at that getting a plurality of the touches if
05:23not a majority even though not a majority of the touches uh dalton schultz getting a lot of touches
05:28himself but then you're getting a lot of other guys eating in there and i do wonder when you say
05:32this needs to be a nico collins game do you imagine this possibly being a nico collins game
05:37at the debt to the detriment of maybe some of these other guys maybe not seeing as much of you know the
05:43other guys higgins and maybe even kirk and maybe even um noel even though we haven't seen him just
05:50get a lot of uh attention generally maybe them not getting as much opportunity in order to
05:55really feed nico and attack the middle and the deep portions of the field well i think you know
06:00you say detriment i don't think that's going to mean you know zero catches what i'm saying is
06:05against the zone your best weapon is nico collins who just has that knack for finding the open space
06:10is the most experienced guy is the biggest guy we know the story uh like i think this is a game
06:15where he needs to go and by the way i i actually gave him uh i said he was 18th in the league
06:21in in receiving he's 38th that's right he's 38th uh i gave him a 20 20 spots too many uh on that so
06:28no i i think you know as you look at this and as i read that i was like all right you know i know what
06:33what domico is saying and i know what you know what their general you know makeup is run the ball run
06:40uh in your passing i don't think that works here and as far as detriment to other receivers i think
06:45nico collins opens it up for other other receivers eventually if he gets five six catches in the first
06:49half four five whatever it is all of a sudden everything changes as we're very familiar with
06:54though with this team it's going to start with can you keep can you block it up right especially if
06:58we're talking about deep shots um through the air as opposed to like maybe getting the ball out in
07:03space and allowing them to cook versus this these secondary players it's going to require
07:07an opportunity for you know time to throw it's going to require that um and it's going to require
07:12everybody to be on the same page it's going to require the offensive line to be able to pick up
07:16the the many the numerous stunts that uh mike mcdonald's defense is going to come with it's going to
07:22require particularly uh you know the ability for cj stride to step up in the pocket which means keeping
07:27the front of that clean those are all questions that very much that seesaw he seesawks defense um is
07:34going to present to an offense and it's part of the reason why they've been able to
07:37make do with the back end players now kind of being injured and having a rotation back there
07:42of guys that are less than uh less than your top line is because their front line has been
07:46incredible so it's still going to come down to that but i'm with you man i think that there's
07:49real opportunities to get uh nico collins going i do wonder though how much that is how much you're
07:55capable of getting to that without if you're not able to run the football well but can you go and
08:00maybe do it upside down is what i'm saying you know to do it the other way they're only going to rush
08:04four guys they get away with it because they want that extra guy in the secondary uh and and
08:09maybe loosen them up with that with all those zone passes and and then go back go and reverse and
08:14start running the ball that way nico he only has 22 catches man yeah offense was was bad in those
08:22first three weeks did not stay on the field like we were there we watched that i think that the the
08:27sample ends up being really crunched because there was a really slow start to the season i'm also
08:32interested to see and we've talked about this before what is the jump offensively so now that
08:37you've had what you'll have 15 days to prepare for this game not saying that that's the only thing
08:41that you're paying attention to but from a nick cayley and the rest of all of the brain trust
08:46offensively i have to imagine that that's been front of mind yeah since you got on the plane to
08:51come back from baltimore and so with that being the case i would hope that they have very much taken
08:57account how you attack those things and to be fair probably can't just be nico collins either i feel
09:02like there's probably going to be a certain amount of attention given to him dalton this could be a
09:07dalton at 1b that's that's the thing i was about to bring up i'm glad that we have a high mind in
09:12this like one of the things i saw that i was really encouraged by in that ravens game again all the
09:17caveats bad ravens defense hurt ravens defense was not just dalton schultz finding space and sitting down
09:23in the zone as you know a lot of tight ends are capable of doing yeah i started seeing a little
09:27bit of get the ball and get upfield and get north and south which those are the things that feel like
09:32are differentiating factors from just uh just the tight end that is just like you know possession
09:39getting into space and then you know the tight ends that are really problematic that can get the
09:43ball run and attack you get some yak i think that that is one of those things that i'm hoping to
09:47maybe see from uh from a dalton schultz when he's at his best that's what he does uh and by the way
09:52uh nico collins with 22 catches dalton schultz has 21 you know he has only one one fewer catch
09:58and uh those i was looking at this and we all know that their texas are going to try to run the
10:05ball they just are that's their makeup that's their the way they are and i'm like man let's let's hit
10:10that zone and you know and then then it gets into the point i know we'll dig into this later
10:14is that something that uh that that nick cayley is willing to do can he convince you know d'amico
10:21ryan's demico's in those meetings now you know he's not necessarily participating a lot and
10:24drawing up plays but say hey look man i mean they know they know these numbers they know what
10:28they're facing in seattle but and i felt bad because as soon as i said will they be able to
10:33do that without running it made me feel like old crusty yeah right the people are like oh you got
10:37to establish establish the run right like i started feeling like that but the reason why i brought that
10:42up was because that so much has been made with this offense about staying on schedule
10:47are they capable of doing that if they're going to be more of a passing a outfit possibly they say
10:52they're a game plan offense that's the the sub you know the subplot here this will tell us if they
10:57really are yeah because the game plan should be attacking that zone defense 100 percent
