01:10Quack!
01:11Sweet!
01:12Wow!
01:13What the?
01:14Leona?
01:15Hi
01:16What the?
01:17What did you do that for?
01:18I'm a lion
01:19Lions pounce
01:20It's how we get exercise
01:22Well, yeah, but I mean there are other ways
01:24Chicken!
01:25Chicken!
01:26Huh?
01:27Chicken?
01:28Oh, no thanks, Cubs
01:32I had a sandwich a little while ago
01:34No, no, Dad, there was a chicken right behind you
01:36There was?
01:37Where?
01:38I don't see any...
01:39Chicken!
01:40Hey!
01:41Who you calling chicken, dude?
01:44Yo, I've surfed Waikiki
01:46Okay, those are some pretty gnarly waves
01:51Chicken
01:52No, no, there was a chicken behind you
01:55Huh?
01:56You saw him, didn't you?
01:57Yeah, I...
01:58I think you jumped into that book
01:59Whoa
02:04Hmm...
02:05The Problem with Chickens, huh?
02:08By Bruce McMillan, illustrated by Gunilla
02:11Huh!
02:12We'd better read it, Cubs
02:13Something foul may be afoot
02:18In a small village on the far end of Iceland
02:21There were plenty of eggs
02:23Even if there were no chickens
02:25The eggs were on the cliffs where the wild birds lived
02:30There were more eggs here than the ladies of the village could ever use for cooking
02:37But it was too difficult for the ladies to get these eggs
02:43Their husbands might have gathered them
02:45But the men were always too busy fishing and farming
02:50So the ladies traveled to the city to buy some chickens
02:54The chickens were happy in the village
02:59Every day they laid many eggs
03:02The ladies were overjoyed to have so many eggs for cooking
03:07Their cakes were delicious
03:10That is when the problem started
03:14The chickens forgot they were chickens
03:18They started acting like ladies
03:21When the ladies went to pick blueberries
03:25The chickens went too
03:28When the ladies went to a birthday party
03:31The chickens went too
03:34When the ladies sang to the sheep
03:37The chickens sang too
03:40When the ladies took a rest from their gardening
03:44The chickens rested too
03:46Everything the ladies did
03:49Everything the ladies did
03:50The chickens did too
03:53The ladies couldn't even have tea and cakes by themselves
03:59The chickens were so busy acting like ladies
04:04That one day
04:06They stopped laying eggs
04:09That's when the ladies said
04:12We have a problem
04:13Have a problem
04:16So the ladies came up with an idea
04:20It was a very clever idea
04:22They would fool the chickens
04:25The ladies started exercising
04:29Feel the burn, yeah
04:31Soon the chickens, just like the ladies, were exercising
04:35Day after day
04:38The chickens exercised
04:40Just like the ladies
04:41Their wings grew stronger and stronger
04:46Then the ladies lifted the chickens one by one
04:51Into the air and said
04:53Remember, you are birds
04:59The chickens flew to places on the cliffs
05:02Where no other Icelandic birds lived
05:05There they made their nests
05:07And laid their eggs
05:08This could have been a problem
05:10But the ladies had planned for this
05:12The chickens weren't the only ones who got strong from all that exercise
05:18Finally, the strong chickens in the far end of Iceland acted like birds
05:21Finally, the strong chickens in the far end of Iceland acted like birds
05:35And the strong Icelandic ladies had no problem gathering the eggs
05:41Also from then on
05:42If the ladies ever needed to go to the city
05:54It was no problem at all
05:58The end
06:01The end
06:03Whoa
06:05What a great book
06:07Oh, it was about the unity of all life
06:10You know, how like, we're all really one
06:15Or, uh, maybe not
06:17Well, I liked it, but what was it about?
06:21What was it about?
06:23Well, uh, let's see
06:24It was about these ladies who had a problem
06:27Uh, they couldn't get eggs
06:29Yeah, yeah, and then they got these chickens
06:31Oh, right, right, chickens who acted like ladies
06:33Right
06:34And the ladies solved their problem
06:36Yeah, yeah, they solved it with, um, uh
06:38With, um, uh, exercise?
06:41Exactly!
06:42Exactly!
06:44Oh, yeah
06:47Hi-ya!
06:49Whoa!
06:51Hey, uh, maybe we should get some exercise, too
06:54Uh, let's go change into our sweats
06:57Righteous!
06:59I'm gonna jump off
07:01Play nice!
07:05Mmm, axed!
07:07Mmm, axed!
07:09Mmm, axed!

08:18The Dixie Chimps say goodbye, chick.
08:22First it was charming, then became alarming when a chicken chose to just be seated.
08:29She chewed up my cheese, never ever said please. Played checkers, but she always cheated.
08:36Gonna chase that chicken right out of my chair. She's chomping my chips like she belongs there.
08:43She's chuckling and chirping, chased her out and make it quick. The choice is me or her.
08:50So it's goodbye, chick. Ch, ch, ch, ch, chick. So long, chick. Ch, ch, ch, ch, chick.

09:38Thank you very much!
09:39Chili!

11:05It's the continuing, daring, and dangling adventures of Cliffhanger!
11:13Today's adventure, chapter 12,363, Cliffhanger and the Chuckling Chickens.
11:22Cliffhanger, hanging from a cliff, and that's why he's called Cliffhanger!
11:29Excuse me, excuse me!
11:32We find Cliffhanger where we left him last, hanging from a cliff.
11:39Can't hold on much longer!
11:44By chance, Cliff looks up and spots a bunch of Chuckling Chickens clutching a chain with a chair on the end of it.
11:52Quickly, Cliff reaches into his backpack and extracts his trusty survival manual.
11:58Using his champion decoding skills, Cliff begins to read.
12:04If you spot a bunch of Chuckling Chickens clutching a chain with a chair on the end of it, ask them to get you down.
12:15Get me down!
12:16What does down mean?
12:20I'll look it up in my trusty chicken dictionary.
12:23The soft feathers of young birds often used to make pillows.
12:28But down has another meaning, too. It's the opposite of up!
12:37Enjoy your down! And you can keep the chain!
12:43And that's why he's called Cliffhanger!
12:47Can't hold on much longer!
12:52You can't hold on much longer!
12:53You can't hold on much longer!
12:54Chee-chee!
12:55Chee-chee!
12:57Chickens!
12:58One!
13:04Two!
13:06Three!
13:08This is awesome!
13:10I can really feel the burn, dude!
13:13You're telling me!
13:14I think someone better cut down on his bananas!
13:16Four, five, six, seven, eight.
13:30First came the chicken.
13:33Now comes the egg.
13:39An egg is quiet.
13:46What's Lionel doing?
13:52I'm going to find out.
13:56Hi, Lionel.
13:57Shh.
13:59What are you doing?
14:01Listening to this egg.
14:04Lionel's listening to an egg.
14:07Why are you listening to an egg?
14:10Oh, he wants to find out if it's quiet.
14:13Oh.
14:14Hmm.
14:16Okay.
14:18I've heard enough.
14:19This egg really is quiet, Mom.
14:22The book is right.
14:23You're right.
14:24What book?
14:25Oh, this one.
14:27An egg is quiet.
14:30Now, Lionel, do you remember where we were?
14:32Wait, wait, wait, wait.
14:33Start at the beginning.
14:35I want to hear about eggs being quiet, too.
14:38Oh, you don't mind, do you, Lionel?
14:41Books are for sharing.
14:42Right.
14:43Here we go.
14:44Back to the beginning.
14:45An Egg is Quiet by Diana Astin, illustrated by Sylvia Long.
14:51An egg is quiet.
14:54It sits there, under its mother's feathers, on top of its father's feet, buried beneath the sand, warm, cozy.
15:10An egg is colorful.
15:17An egg is shapely.
15:21There are round eggs.
15:24Round eggs fit together nicely in tight spaces.
15:27There are oval eggs.
15:30There are pointy eggs.
15:34Seabird eggs are pointy at one end, so if they're laid on rock ledges, they roll around in safe little circles, not off the cliff.
15:42There are even tubular eggs.
15:44There are even tubular eggs.
15:48The markings on some eggs help them blend in with their surroundings.
15:51This is called camouflage.
15:55Camouflage is an egg's way of hiding.
15:58An egg does not want to be eaten by a raccoon, or a snake, or a fox, or an insect.
16:05Eggs come in different sizes.
16:09An ostrich egg is so big and so round, it takes two hands to hold one egg.
16:17Hummingbird eggs are the size of a jelly bean.
16:22An egg is artistic.
16:26An egg is textured.
16:30There are hard eggs.
16:33And soft eggs.
16:35And gooey eggs.
16:37There are smooth eggs.
16:41And rough eggs.
16:44An egg gives the little creature growing inside it everything it needs.
16:50The shell is its home.
16:52The yolk is its food.
16:55The egg white, or albumen, is its pillow.
17:00The shell is covered with teeny tiny holes, which allow air to enter.
17:07Here's what a baby chick looks like growing inside its egg after the first three days.
17:14Here it is at seven days.
17:17Thirteen days.
17:19And eighteen days.
17:22After twenty-one days, it hatches into a baby chick.
17:26An egg is quiet.
17:29Then, suddenly...
17:31An egg is noisy.
17:38The end.
17:40Wow!
17:41Here I thought an egg was quiet.
17:43And it turned out that the exact opposite is also true.
17:47An egg is noisy.
17:49Ah!
17:50This one is still pretty quiet.
17:57She's right!
17:58Why is this one quiet?
18:00Yeah.
18:00That's because it isn't hatching.
18:02If something comes out of it, then it will be noisy.
18:05What's going to hatch from it?
18:07Maybe it's a duck, huh?
18:13Or a turtle!
18:17Or even...
18:18A dinosaur!
18:24Who knows?
18:26Well, I have to go mow the lawn.
18:29Let me know if the egg starts making noise, okay?
18:31Bye!
18:31I think we should wait here until this egg hatches.
18:36I want to know what comes out.
18:37Oh!
18:37Oh!
18:38Me too!
18:38Me too!
18:39Hey!
18:41Do you think we should sit on it?
18:43Mm.
18:43Well, don't birds usually sit on their eggs to get them hatched?
18:46Nah, we might break it.
18:47Let's just watch it.
18:48Oh, okay.
18:55One more.
18:56Mom.
19:01Hello, everybody.
19:06Please welcome my guest, Theo Lyons!
19:09What's up, man?
19:10What's coming up on Between the Lions?
19:13Well, let's see.
19:14Oh, watch for more noise and more chickens.
19:18Oh, and a hen singing about chickens, too.
19:22Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
19:25presenting the incredible, daring Trampolini Brothers,
19:28performing the noisy, balancing Ballyhoo!
19:31That's noisy!
19:38That's even noisier!
19:44That's the noisiest of all!
19:48Noisy, noisier, noisiest!
19:52Folks, let's hear it for the terrific Trampolini Brothers!
20:00Oh, I won't lie, it's loud.
20:13It's very, very loud, oh, yeah.
20:16And it's big, so big.
20:19It's very, very, very large, oh, yeah.
20:23It's very loud and very big and very, very, very tall.
20:27And it's mellow!
20:28And it rolls, and it thumps, and it hammers, and it dumps, and it rocks, and it clangs, and it's heavy, and it burns.
20:45And it burns, and it thumps, and it thumps, and it hammers, and it dumps, and it rocks, and it clangs, and it's heavy, and it burns.
20:57It's down and very, very dirty, up and very, very high, and it's mellow!
21:04It's very tough and very hot and very, very, very strong, and it's mellow!
21:11It's very loud and very big and very, very, very tall, and it's mellow!
21:16Look, popping out of the bushes!
21:23Is it a bug?
21:24Is it a squirrel?
21:26No!
21:27It's Opposite Bunny!
21:31Loud!
21:33Here he comes!
21:35The Opposite Bunny!
21:43Quiet!
21:44The duck was loud!
21:46Now he's quiet!
21:48How does that bunny do it?
21:50Mom!
21:51Who was that cute bunny?
21:53Mom!
21:54That was the Opposite Bunny!
21:57Baby Chick by Aileen Fisher
22:00Peck, peck, peck on the warm brown egg
22:05Out comes a neck
22:07Out comes a leg
22:09How does a chick who's not been about
22:14Discover the trick?
22:16Of how to get out
22:18Public library information, hen!
22:24What?
22:26What kind of bird is a hen?
22:29Well, you've certainly come to the right place!
22:32Listen to this
22:34Hens are simply foul
22:40And crows are for the birds
22:42And while we're on the subject
22:44Let me say a few more words
22:46A pigeon is a pigeon
22:47A pigeon is a smidgen
22:48Like a dog mixed with a quail
22:51A peacock's like a turkey
22:53With a psychedelic tail
22:56Oh, hens are simply foul
22:59I'll say it once again
23:02A hen is also a chicken
23:04And a chicken is a hen
23:06And if my explanation
23:08Increases your frustration
23:10The only thing important in the end
23:14Is foul or not
23:17We're all your gathered friends
23:21You're welcome
23:25Information, hen, how may I help you?
23:29Oh, here's some different shapes we see every day
23:33I see an oval egg
23:36I see a round ball
23:40I see a flag that's a rectangle
23:43I see a square box
23:46And this is a triangle
23:49What shape do you see?
23:52It's short story time
23:54With Artie Smarty Fels
23:56Hello
24:00My finger is stuck in the book
24:02And I want to read it to you
24:03Oh, I will pull it out
24:06Well, the book is titled
24:11Worm is Stuck
24:13Written and illustrated by Kathy Cable
24:15Worm is a circle
24:21Worm is a square
24:24Worm is a triangle
24:28Worm is a zigzag
24:31Worm is a figure eight
24:35Worm is a bow
24:39Worm is a knot
24:42Help
24:43Worm is stuck
24:47The end
24:49Ah
24:50Oh, no
24:54And now it's time to say goodbye
24:56Oh, I'm stuck again
24:58Oh
24:58Oh, oh, oh
24:59Oh, stoop
25:00Oh, yeah
25:01Oh, I'm stuck
25:03I hate being stuck in the boat
25:04Oh
25:05Did you hear anything yet?
25:12No
25:12Did you?
25:14No
25:14How long do you think we have to wait?
25:17Hmm
25:18Hmm
25:19Oh, sorry
25:22Hey, have either of you seen my
25:24Oh, there it is
25:26My egg
25:27What?
25:28This is your egg?
25:30Well, hey
25:31What kind of egg is it?
25:32Yeah, is it a dinosaur egg
25:34With a cute little teeny tiny dinosaur in it
25:37With teeny tiny wings?
25:38Yeah
25:38No, no
25:41It's not the kind of egg that hatches
25:44Huh?
25:46What?
25:47It's a hard-boiled egg
25:48Huh?
25:50But
