00:00In Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro rejected the regime changes and coup d'etat promoted by
00:14the CIA from the United States. Colombian President Gustavo Pedro informed that he
00:22will not attend the 10th summit of the Americas following the exclusion of Cuba,
00:27Nicaragua and Venezuela from the event. And in Ecuador, the number of deaths caused by
00:34police repression amid the ongoing anti-government protests rises to three.
00:39Hello and welcome to From the South from the headquarters of Treasury English in Havana,
00:49Cuba. My name is Pablo Micheliche. We begin. In Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro rejected
00:55the regime changes and coup d'etat promoted by the CIA from the United States. During the National
01:00Council for Sovereignty and Peace, a Venezuelan president emphasized that Venezuela is not alone
01:06in opposing the attacks and threats used by the government of the United States to subjugate
01:12the peoples of the region and cease their riches. Additionally, he asserted that xenophobic statements
01:18comparing Venezuelans to criminal groups like the Tren de Aragua, which was exterminated by the National
01:25Police Force, must cease. In this regard, the Venezuelan president reiterated that the best vaccine to
01:31combat these threats and attacks is unity.
01:38No to regime change that reminds us so much of the failed eternal wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and the list goes on.
01:52No to coups d'etat by the CIA, that remind us so much of the 30,000 people disappeared by the CIA,
02:06in the coups d'etat against Argentina, Pinochet's coup d'etat, and the 5,000 young people murdered and
02:18disappeared in coup d'etat after coup d'etat in Latin America. Latin America doesn't want them,
02:26doesn't need them. The American empire, with its supremacist and Nazi ideology, believes that it is
02:34going to unify us all into a single way of thinking, a single order, a single command. It is out of step
02:42with the times, because we carry a very strong flag. Our national flag, the yellow, blue, and red one that
02:53no one gave us, no one painted for us. Miranda brought it and Bolivar carried it, victorious in the
03:01liberating banners to Ayacucho, to Hunin, and I am not inventing a fable. It is lived history. It is real history.
03:12President Nicolas Maduro described the sanctions imposed on the country as silent missiles,
03:17noting that they not only harmed the country's economic, social, and political well-being, but also affected
03:24the thousands of Venezuelans. I think it's a very pertinent message, given that a group of Venezuelans
03:34had to leave the country due to a brutal economic war, silent missiles that aimed to destroy the
03:40economic, social, and political body of the country.
03:45They found the demon of xenophobic campaigns and xenophobic treatment, especially in the United
03:57States, where they try to lie every day, and claim that Venezuelans are something like a criminal gang
04:05that we defeated and exterminated here. The famous trend to Aragua.
04:09The people of Aragua, are not the trend to Aragua, nor is Venezuela, the trend to Aragua. Venezuela
04:24is a country of decent, honest, hard-working, caring and humane people.
04:30They must stop making discriminatory and xenophobic statements, and stop comparing the Venezuelan
04:43identity to criminal groups that have been attacked and exterminated in Venezuela.
04:51In this sense, the Secretary of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, Jorge Rodriguez,
04:56emphasize that the meetings aims to bring together all sectors of the country for the comprehensive
05:02defense of Venezuela.
05:06Venezuelans, from all political, cultural, economic, social, religious, academic, working-class,
05:16farming, fishers of this country, with the intention and purpose of coming together to actively
05:28defend the peace of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, an active defense of our most precious
05:36asset, our independence, sovereignty, respect, and protection of the sacred territory of our
05:49republic.
05:52And now we have a short break coming up.
05:54But first, remember, you can join us on TikTok at Telesur English.
05:57We will find news in different formats, news updates, and much more.
06:01We will be right back. Stay with us.
06:06Welcome back.
06:10In a communique, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has rejected the aggressive and extravagant
06:15statements of the President of the United States, in which he publicly admitted to have authorized
06:21operations against the peace and stability of Venezuela.
06:25A communique reads, this unprecedented statement constitutes a grave violation of international
06:31law and the Charter of the United Nations, obliging the community of countries to denounce these
06:37declarations, which are clearly excessive and inconceivable.
06:41We observed with extreme alarm the use of the CIA, as well as the announced military deployments
06:48in the Caribbean, which constitute a policy of aggression, threat, and harassment against Venezuela.
06:54A communique denounces, such maneuvers are clearly intended to legitimize a regime-change operation
07:01with the ultimate aim of ceasing control of Venezuela's oil resources.
07:06Furthermore, the statements of the U.S. President seek to stigmatize Venezuelan and Latin American
07:12migration, fueling xenophobic and dangerous discourse.
07:16A communique concludes, tomorrow, our permanent mission to the UN will present this denunciation
07:22to the Security Council and the Secretary General, demanding accountability from the Government
07:28of the United States and the adoption of urgent measures to prevent a military escalation in
07:33the Caribbean, a peace soon decreed by the CELAC, in 2014.
07:37The international community must understand that impunity for these acts will have dangerous
07:43political consequences that must be stopped immediately.
07:52The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Non-Aligned Movement gathered at its 19th Mid-Term Ministerial
08:02Conference in Uganda to be held on 15th and 16th of October to express their serious concerns
08:09over the ongoing developments of the Caribbean region.
08:12Through a communique, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Non-Aligned Movement recalled
08:18the statement issued by the Coordinating Bureau on 19th September 2025 and regretted that,
08:25since then, the situation on the ground has only escalated, including as a result of the
08:31deployment of additional extra-regional military forces and assets, coupled with further hostile
08:37actions, intimidatory threats and even more aggressive rhetoric.
08:41It continues, the Minister of Foreign Affairs took note of the discussions recently held on
08:46this subject in the Security Council of the United Nations on October 10th, 2025, in which
08:53a common understanding emerged on the need to strictly adhere to the purposes and principles
08:59enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations to the norms of international law and to dialogue
09:05and diplomacy as the most ideal means to address and overcome in a spirit of coordination and
09:11solidarity any issue of common interest or concern.
09:15Finally, the statement reads, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Non-Aligned Movement
09:19reaffirmed their firm determination to uphold the principles of sovereignty and sovereign equality
09:25of states, territorial integrity, non-interference in the internal or external affairs of states,
09:32peaceful settlements of disputes, and refraignment from the threat or use of force against the
09:39political independence of any state while expressing their solidarity with the people and government
09:44of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
09:53Organizations in Grenade are urging the government to reject a reported U.S. request to deploy military
09:59assets on the island as Washington increases pressure on Venezuela.
10:04Sources say U.S. Admiral Alvin Halsey, head of the Southern Command, met with Grenadian officials
10:11in St. George to discuss regional security. The visit sparked speculation about possible plans
10:17to install a U.S. radar station, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from civil society groups.
10:25The Grenada Coalition for the Son of Peace, the Trade Union Council and Citizens for Peace
10:32called on the government to refuse any military presence, warning that it threatens national sovereignty
10:39and regional stability to the American demands to use the international airport, a civilian
10:44installation named after its revolutionary leader, Morris Bishop.
10:48We go back to Venezuela. The Vice President Darcy Rodríguez held a videoconference with the
10:53country's 5,336 communal circuits on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the historic Golpe de Timon speech,
11:02delivered by the commander Hugo Chávez on October 20, 2012, during the Council of Ministerial
11:08at the Miraflores Palace. The central theme was the seven transformations based on the
11:13organization of popular power as government in the territory. Also, the advances in the
11:18organization of popular power were highlighted and strategic lines were drawn to strengthen
11:24the transition from communal circuits to communes and to promote self-government rooms and banks.
11:30On the other hand, Vice President Darcy Rodríguez pointed out that October 20 will mark the
11:3513th anniversary of the Golpe de Timon with an event that will bring together all the
11:41communal secrets that have been strengthened and have become tools of sovereignty and resilience.
11:49We are already reviewing from the system of the popular government room that coordinates the
12:02Executive Vice Presidency with the entire Vice Presidential Council.
12:07As you know, we have been working with the common circuits, the communes and the communal councils,
12:19articulating around the plan of the seven transformations, which means governing in the territory.
12:26Darcy Rodríguez also stated that the Venezuelan people have found their own way to overcome
12:35the criminal blockade imposed by the U.S. government.
12:39And most importantly, guaranteeing food in the territory is a strategic objective of the first
12:47transformation that also allows us, and we are seeing this in the economic circuits, to overcome
12:54the criminal blockade against Venezuela. Venezuela has found its own path, and we are in the process of
13:02consolidating the role of community organizations in the national economic circuit.
13:17Welcome back. Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced that he will not attend the 10th
13:22Summit of the Americas, which will take place on December 2025 in the Dominican Republic.
13:28A declaration happens after the Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the government of
13:33Lisa Binader decided not to invite Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela to the event, to which Petro responded
13:39that dialogue does not begin with exclusions. Let's recall that Mexican President Claudia Chambon
13:45also expresses her no-attendance to the event due to her disagreement with the Dominican government's
13:50decision. The exclusion comes in a context of escalating hostilities by the United States and Latin America
13:57and the Caribbean.
13:58Colombian social movements gathered in the streets of the country to demand greater attention from the
14:15national government to guarantee life and permanence in their territories. This Wednesday union groups,
14:21indigenous and farmer movements are mobilizing to demand a dignified life of Colombians and the end of
14:27paramilitarism in the country, protected by imperialism and the elite. The unions also urge the government to
14:34debate a national proposal that includes urban reform, establishing a national emergency for
14:40filming sites and other national security issues.
14:49The National Electoral Council of Honduras approved the participation of 68 national and international
14:55organizations as official service for the general elections on November 30. According to NCE President
15:03Hull, a total of 43 national and 25 international missions were certified. Hull stated that these
15:12missions aim to fully monitor the event and reference the transparency of the Central American nation's
15:18democratic processes. More than 6.5 million Hondurans are called to vote in these elections, in which they
15:25will elect a new president, three presidential designates, 298 mayors, 128 members of the National Congress and
15:3420 members of the Central American Parliament.
15:43Now in Peru, violent clashes erupted near the Congress headquarters in Lima as thousands of protesters rallied against
15:49the newly installed government of President José Herí. The demonstration, organized less than a week after
15:56Herí's inauguration, quickly escalated when protesters attempted to dismantle protective barriers surrounding
16:03the legislative building. The protest was marked by symbolic acts, including the burning of a violent effigy
16:10and an illusion to rape allegations against Herí. The unrest underscores the public dissatisfaction with Peru's
16:18political establishment, as demonstrators, many from youth and labor groups, accused Congress of shielding Herí
16:26from accountability. Herí, reportedly observing the events from a helicopter, has yet to issue a formal statement.
16:33Now in Ecuador, the number of deaths caused by police repression rises to three, while the national strike is still ongoing after 24 days. On Wednesday, the Kishba Hasaraguro people confirmed the mother of Rosa Elena Paqui due to cardiorespiratory arrest, caused the
16:40inhalation of tear gas used indiscriminately by the police.
16:47The indigenous movement also confirmed the death of Jose Guaman, who was fighting for his life after being injured in Otavalo.
16:54Adding a third victim to the repression.
17:01Indigenous groups condemned the attacks on demonstrators protesting against Daniel Novoa's neoliberal policies.
17:08In this context, they reported aggressions perpetrated by hundreds of police and military police and military police.
17:14In this context, they reported aggressions perpetrated by hundreds of police and military police.
17:20and denounced the presence of law enforcement officers dressed in civilian clothing.
17:37Ecuadorians urged the government to end the repression, respect human rights and bring justice for those who have been killed in defense of the people.
17:45For his part, Ecuador's Minister of Infrastructure, Roberto Luque, reported on Wednesday that he had received reports of explosions on two roads in the country,
18:04following the deterioration of a cart in front of a shopping center in Guayaquil.
18:10Luque said that the explosives were placed on the bridges of the Guayaquil-Machala and Machala-Cuenca roads in order to block or interrupt traffic in that area.
18:20He also emphasized that the competent authorities remain deployed to determine the current state of these structures and assess the damage caused.
18:30The government of Israel announced the reopening of the Rafah crossing, located on the border between the Gatah and the Gatah.
18:58Strip and Egypt, for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave.
19:05The Israeli administration confirmed the reopening of the Rafah crossing following the return of the bodies of four detonites by the Palestinian resistance.
19:13In this context, the Tel Aviv regime concealed the measures it had planned to take against Hamas, including their reduction in the number of humanitarian aid trucks entering the Palestinian territory.
19:24With the lifting of the blockade, around 600 humanitarian trucks are expected to enter the gas strip, while thousands of Gazans will be able to access the territory through the Rafah crossing.
