01:11is unexplained and they all come from the same remote valley in Norway in northern Europe it's called
01:16Hessdalen oh I've heard of this the Hessdalen phenomena yes right there are like hundreds of
01:23these sightings right and it goes back like centuries this is not some instance of the
01:28northern lights this is something that's like out of this world
01:31just south of the Arctic Circle lies Norway's Hessdalen Valley an area that's infamous for being the
01:43world's most active location for UFOs the first documented sighting comes in the winter of 1811
01:51priest Jakob Crow writes about a huge glaring star with bright branches in the night sky then in 1895
02:00a local newspaper runs a story about more strange lights above the valley the phenomenon intensifies
02:07following World War II in 1947 multiple witnesses including a town mayor claimed to see an egg-shaped
02:16craft land or crash in a nearby lake the early 1980s see another surge in sightings with as many as 50 recorded in a single week
02:29news cameras capture the eerie lights drawing scientists from around the world in 1998 a multinational effort
02:39establishes the world's first automated anomaly detection system to monitor Hessdalen 24-7 researchers capture hundreds of videos
02:48radar readings and electromagnetic anomalies but today more than 25 years later there is still no consensus on what is causing the Hessdalen lights
03:00UAP are airborne objects that cannot be immediately identified we are committed to a focused effort to determine their origins
03:09in the wake of the Pentagon's admission that there are unidentified aerial objects among us there's been a renewed interest in what's been happening over Hessdalen
03:18meanwhile reports of strange activity only continue to rise wingless craft are reported flying over the valley every week stranger still
03:30some say they see otherworldly lights alongside these UFOs as if the lights and the UFOs are communicating somehow
03:40so far no one has been proven right or wrong is the truth out there in the Hessdalen Valley
03:50I'm obviously not saying it's definitely aliens but the fact that scientists have been studying this
03:59phenomena for 40 years and still haven't managed to crack the case there's something really special here this is a
04:05huge mystery I think it demands our attention totally agree with you we have to check this out

06:53after our tasty treat we drive another hour north deeper into the Hessdalen Valley we head to a local church where we've
07:05arranged a town hall in order to hear from as many local witnesses as possible thank you all for joining us
07:12only a hundred and fifty people live in the region but because the phenomena is such a chilling mystery
07:18our town hall appears to be the hottest ticket around to me the Hessdalen phenomena is the most
07:23underappreciated mystery in the entire world the fact that they are real they are here they're being
07:31studied by scientists they're being seen countless times for hundreds of years and we still don't know
07:37what it is what they are who they are by a show of hands who here has seen the lights
07:43all right that's awesome there's a lot of y'all anybody care to start out and share your story
07:53two years ago when I was out ice fishing at night
07:57I was there on ice waiting for the fish to bite and I can see an orange light in the sky quite strong
08:10I forgot about the fish my heart was moving so fast
08:14and then the light disappears I never seen anything like that it's amazing thank you first time I saw
08:27the objects was early 80s first I thought it was an airplane and it was hovering above the river
08:38it had the shape of a banana but it was a bit bigger in the middle it followed the rivers and then it
08:49disappeared into the woods so we call them the Hessdalen lights but what you're talking about seeing that
08:56sounds more like a physical object flying around here many people have seen object many
09:01the lights stops and change direction and disappears it was very big 20 meters wide maybe it's huge when
09:12it was two meters from the ground it stopped but the impression I got was not welcome one of the cases we
09:19have where they're seeing beings rushing over the field wait so people are reporting seeing beings beings
09:29listening to all the stories if you add together it doesn't sound like natural phenomenon it sounds
09:39too intelligent there is something that interacts with people there is some kind of phenomenon we don't
09:46understand I have been studying this for 40 years I was one of the founders of Project Testa
09:53I've seen it several times on one occasion we had the test pointing a small laser to watch the light and there was some kind of interaction it's reacted what did it do
10:16it was flashing but it doubled the flashing frequency
10:22you think it mimicked your light some kind of interaction you've been studying them for how long
10:3140 years where do we start if we want to try to see this I think you should go to the research station
10:39which is called the white box has a great view of the valley but getting there may be a problem
10:46the white box is a small research station perched atop scarvin mountain overlooking the
10:56Hessdalen valley it was established in 2018 by local scientists to study the life phenomena and Heather and I have been
11:05granted exclusive access to it for our investigation I think right around here is as close as the road it's going to take us
11:12but getting there will be a serious workout
11:15all right it looks like we've got four mile hike and 2,000 foot elevation gain
11:23yeah and we got to get there before the sun sets yeah so we should get moving
11:26the terrain is too rugged and rocky for snowmobiles so the only option snowshoes
11:35we've got to get a move on there's less than two hours of daylight left before
11:41a 19 hour night falls when temperatures can get as low as negative 22 degrees Fahrenheit

15:03and because it's connected to the internet it can identify those things and categorize them as airplane as satellite or

15:17i set up in the cozy white box control room
15:20where i'll monitor the dap cam and the other instruments
15:23meanwhile

15:27and we'll be braving the elements outside
15:29keeping an eye on the skies over the valley
15:32i'm gonna set it on a time lapse because this is a light phenomena and any light should show up pretty well on this
15:47i've got nothing on the dap cam
15:54i do have the town in sight
15:57so i can see if something is coming up from the ground which some of our witnesses have spoken about
16:02i've got a pretty good range and i'm tracking the sky so if something shows up we'll be able to see it

16:13it is freezing out here the wind is relentless
16:19so this camera has a super high iso sensor meaning it can capture even the dimmest of lights
16:26and i've paired that with my wildlife lens this is a 500 millimeter lens it's basically like a telescope
16:33as far as i know no one has had a camera combination as powerful up here
16:39meaning we potentially could document the hestone lights like never before

21:43of a ufo
21:45of the headstone phenomena

21:48and we need to constantly be watching this thing i think we should take some shifts

22:39she and a team of scientists have been trying to solve the hesdalen light phenomena for more than 25 years

22:50people claiming to see crafts flying around here
22:52we saw some interesting things ourselves at the observatory
22:55we saw some brief flashes of light in the valley
22:58could that have been the hesdalen phenomena

23:09that's what we're trying to find out
23:10we think it's connected with what's going on in the ground underneath
23:13what is under the ground in hesdalen valley that's unusual
23:28this is an old mining area there's a lot of metals and stuff in the ground

23:32and some of these conduct electricity around in a circle which might help explain what's going on here
23:38so there are so many metals in the ground that they've basically formed a circuit under the ground that can carry electricity from one side of the valley to another

23:47so how does what's happening underground connect to what's happening in the sky?
23:52we think this has to do something with electromagnetism
23:55i mean if you have a light you have to have a power source
23:57because something can power them
23:59and electricity is a nice power source

25:27this is the world's only ufo mobile research station
25:31the white box that is run by the university is fantastic but it's stuck there
25:35yeah and it's hard to get to and it's cold
25:38that's why we developed it mobile so we can hunt this phenomena
25:42yeah i imagine you can go anywhere in this thing
25:45everywhere in the valley
25:46the strong radar
25:47we will know if it's plasma or a physical object like an airplane
25:52so if we have indication that something going on like last night
25:56we will get the drones up and try through it

26:04what did yours look like because i know at different points in the valley
26:07they look different to different people

26:15the valley is very active now because we have several witnesses today
26:20and last night i've seen the objects or the lights
26:23but theoretically when you see these lights
26:25and you have this unit what are you going to do

26:31you think it's a physical object then
26:34we don't know yet because this is the first time we are doing this operation
26:38never before has someone fly into the object
26:41we don't know what's happening when you fly a drone into the light
26:44is it warm is it cold is it physical

26:49now in all your years researching
26:51what has been the most exciting piece of evidence
26:54definitely the most exciting for me
26:56is what i found in the lake last year

27:04this is a 13 meter long cylindrical object
27:06lying on the lake of yukchuan
27:08so i'm looking at a ufo right now

27:15the mayor of rhodos was working his field
