00:00:00the number seven cars problem clearly it wasn't a routine stop just want to flag up an intra-team
00:00:05battle in the gte pro class the battle for third place between the two teammates at four gt
00:00:11richard westbrook and olivier pla both bashing in fastest first sector times for their respective
00:00:18cars from the whole race they're currently separated by just six tenths of a second
00:00:23that was even less at the last split so keep an eye on those we're currently sitting with the
00:00:28number five toyota that's kazuki nakajima having just pitted and they are they're in four that looks
00:00:37all very routine nothing there was a spare nose cone in the other garage now it may be that they've
00:00:44changed onto their night nose yes such things exist predominantly uh they have in the past been used
00:00:51to include better lights bigger lights brighter lights for nighttime racing plus also a slight
00:00:55aerodynamic tweak to allow for the cooler conditions and the slightly denser air of the night time here
00:01:02at levon we're going to draw a line under the nascar deal uh we gather that jan magnuson uh raced uh i've
00:01:11lost it now um pat long has raced uh yeah magnus raced in 2010 at sonoma and uh yeah okay i don't we've
00:01:22got to the end of that one still no chocolate though and and no sweeties have turned up in the
00:01:26culture booth so let's get back to the race top of the tree stefan sarrazan number six toyota this car
00:01:32has been firmly in control for the last four or five hours it leads the number two and the number one
00:01:38porsches yes with the number five toyota now in fourth place yeah and number two and number one in that
00:01:44order they changed places a couple of laps ago i don't think we saw it and um i did i must admit i missed
00:01:50where it must have happened down on the race track but that change has taken place because number one
00:01:54car has been ahead of number two pretty much all uh all day long uh but that now is the other way apart
00:02:00from the uh early laps run behind the uh safety car before the race got underway properly so uh yeah
00:02:08that is a change now neil jradi the pole sitter back up into up into second place ahead now of timo
00:02:14bernhardt lmp2 class being led by pierre tyriae in the tyriae by tds number 46 aurica nissa and nicola
00:02:20lapierre in the alpine nissanda number 36 car in second place and renee rash the pole sitter in the
00:02:27category lies in third place in the number two gibson prototype nikola ventus is in the striker open uh
00:02:34gibson prototype there fourth and fifth in lmp2 and nelson bantiatici another monogasque is in sixth
00:02:41position in the class to number 35 alpine and the number 44 mana 44 mana motorsport car that was
00:02:48leading in class for so long with roberto mary and sort of vanished after an elongated stop in the last
00:02:54hour battle between pat long in the porsche and the ferrari and that continues pat long has been in
00:03:01sort of a battle for am class honors with everybody all the time uh pedro larmi got by him in the aston
00:03:07martin pat long hanging on in second place at the porsche jeff seigal is the 62 ferrari's driver
00:03:13currently lying third in the gtm class that was a car that finished on the podium also last year and
00:03:19those three cars in gtm the number 98 the number 88 and number 62 covered by just a couple of seconds or so
00:03:27so really good battle for the lead in gtm and they're kind of on their own as well they are what
00:03:34getting on for two-thirds of a lap ahead of duncan cameron in fifth place in the class in number 55
00:03:40ferrari another i'm sure he's a rookie here i don't think duncan cameron's done the race before i need
00:03:45to check jeremy's checking already so i have him paul trust will in the boot involved hensler in fifth
00:03:49position in his number 78 porsche and uh in sixth position is the number 61 canal 92 porsche back in
00:04:00the pit lane now they had a drive shaft issue which dropped them way off the tail as the number 91 car
00:04:05which had a radiator change so the the porsches in the pro class are having no luck at all other than bad
00:04:14and that is very bad news they didn't have pace and now they haven't even got a sucker's lucky break
00:04:20so they are struggling it's such it's such a shame because right at the beginning of the race in those
00:04:24awful conditions that the guys had to deal with you know porsche's only hope was 24 hours of rain 24
00:04:31hours of rain and boy did fred mcaviki put that to good use at the start he hauled that car up to the
00:04:36head of the field head of the class and then now to see them languishing it towards the back and
00:04:42struggling with mechanical issues is just real shame because it was our one hope of keeping the gte pro
00:04:50class battle alive across more manufacturers than just the ferraris and the fords that have been
00:04:55in a bit of a league of their own way out front there you go the 68 ford leads from the 82 ferrari that
00:05:02is the rissi competizione ferrari in amongst the three fords in the pro class and classes we've just
00:05:07documented 98 aston pedro larmi has put that at the front of the field ahead of the 88 car which is
00:05:14battling for its survival in second ahead of jeff sigal's ferrari and that was taylor field delays
00:05:20for the number 50 chevrolet corvette for the number 12 rebellion and one retirement so far the 89 porsche
00:05:29everything else is still going in some way shape or form despite the woes that have been afflicted on
00:05:36some of these cars just let me just answer that question you asked about uh duncan cameron currently
00:05:40running fourth in the class in gtem yeah he has made he didn't start this race last year finished way back
00:05:46in 43 couldn't quite remember but certainly the beasting boss andrew howard's reigning british gt champion is
00:05:55making his debut here and that car still running strongly in its category as is stefan saras and he
00:06:02leads and must be coming towards the end of his first major outing in the number six toyota
00:06:08ndrom in the number six toyota
00:06:13in the number six toyota

00:09:37So, it certainly wasn't that.
00:09:44It was just as I saw the Porsche that's now coming into the pits.
00:09:48It's the number one car, it's Timo Bernhardt, that was taking no prisoners whatsoever through the Porsche.
00:09:56Let's go down to the pit lane.
00:09:57Let's go down to the pit lane there.
00:09:57We've got John Lutcher who's a project leader for Toyota Motorsport and their cars running superbly well at the moment in the 1st and 4th places.
00:10:06And the John Lutcher has played a major part in the organization to very much a multinational thing between Japan, Germany and France.
00:10:15We're already on the car.
00:10:25The only fact is that when it really gets dark, we switch on the high beams.
00:10:30We have normally six lights.
00:10:31We have six lights.
00:10:32We have six lights in the car.
00:10:33During day running, we have two lights on.
00:10:35In the night, we switch all six on.
00:10:37We heard that the temperature might fall to five degrees this night.
00:10:42Is that something that will affect the car in any way?
00:10:45Yes, the cold temperature makes it difficult to get the tire to work, so we have to make sure that the driver really keeps pushing the car extra to keep the heat in the tires.
00:10:55Other than that, things are obviously looking very well for you guys.
00:10:58Anything you're concerned about at the moment?
00:11:00No, at the moment it's running like it should be, but it's still a long way to go.
00:11:04Thank you very much, John.
00:11:06Let me pick up on what John was saying about the temperatures falling during the night.
00:11:10It's now 11 o'clock here and it is cold outside.
00:11:13I've been outside for the sweater and it wasn't enough.
00:11:16It's now become sweater and jacket temperatures out there and I think that temperature is plunging down below 12 degrees quite quickly now.
00:11:25So that's a mark of this year, quite different from past years.
00:11:29I can tell you exactly the air temperature outside right now is, well, apparently hotter than it actually seems.
00:11:37It's 15.7 degrees and the track temperature is 20.
00:11:42I don't think it'll take too long for that to cool down even more.
00:11:46And certainly in the LMP2 category, about five minutes ago, we saw that the lap times, a lot of the drivers in LMP2, running Rast in particular, started banging in his car's fastest laps of the race as he dueled for third position.
00:12:04And he and Nico Lapierre were trading fastest lap times, sorry, fastest sector times each.
00:12:13The gap between those two though, yeah, really quite a lot at the moment.
00:12:19Rene is a lap down.
00:12:21There aren't that many drivers though now putting in fastest laps of the race.
00:12:30There's actually only one person even that's doing in their quickest sector time.
00:12:34That's Olivier Pla in the Ford GT and the GT Pro class currently lying third overall.
00:12:40As I said before, I'm a little bit surprised to see this.
00:12:43In years gone by, you would expect now that we are into full dark, you kind of think our visibility is playing its part.
00:12:53The guys don't have quite the same ability to pick out their apexes as they do in the daytime.
00:12:59And so that perfect sort of sweet spot where there's a bit of ambient light left combined with the lower temperatures, which is good for the engine.
00:13:05That's the time when we see the first lap times and we'll pass that now.
00:13:09That's all changed.
00:13:10Perhaps to a lesser degree with the GT cars, those yellow shrouded headlights actually not offering that great a view ahead and into the corners.
00:13:21But the LMP lights, especially those of the factory LMP1 cars, are just astonishing.
00:13:26They have these laser beams that are perfectly angled both down the road and into the apexes, creating pretty much a daylight experience for the guys.
00:13:37Yeah, indeed so.
00:13:38And pit stop there for one of the GT Porsches.
00:13:42Meanwhile, the factory prototype Porsches, numbers one and two, there's a note come up on the screen here to say a whole bunch of different cars, including those two, including also two of the Ford Chip Ganassi racing entries, actually both of the UK teams, 66 and 67, must make the right-hand side number panels visible to race control.
00:14:06They must be in accordance to article 8.1.2.2 and 8 equals 1.2.3.2 of the World Endurance Championship.
00:14:14And that results to those number panels on the side of the car, they must be illuminated at night.
00:14:19There was a note that went out from race control probably about half an hour ago, just as the darkness really did come down to say that all teams must have those right-hand side, well, both side number panels visible.
00:14:32Well, Jeremy, both the Porsches mentioned are on their outlets at the moment.
00:14:36In fact, Hartley has just come back in again.
00:14:38Is that why?
00:14:39Yeah, it must be.
00:14:40To get that fixed.
00:14:41This is going to hurt Porsche, isn't it?
00:14:43And, yeah, Gianni's going to have to do the same thing then.
00:14:45That's a painful delay.
00:14:46This is just the sort of small mistake that can win or lose this race.
00:14:52Here's Brendan now.
00:14:53He's only just got on board that car.
00:14:54Brendan, you can see, just trying to keep his composure.
00:14:58He won't necessarily know, well, they probably have explained that to him over the radio, but how frustrating it is.
00:15:05Well, it's not a quick fix either.
00:15:07It's being dotted back into the garage.
00:15:10And presumably the number two cars can have the same problem in a minute.
00:15:13It's not the sort of problem you expect to see of a factory team.
00:15:18It certainly isn't.
00:15:20And, you know, the regulations are pretty clear.
00:15:23They've, they, you know, the, there's not anything that these new illuminated side panels are new, is it, Mark?
00:15:30I mean, they've been around now for many years.
00:15:32And they've run them during the qualifying sessions the last couple of days,
00:15:37without, presumably, without any difficulties.
00:15:39But right now, it is a problem for the Porsche team.
00:15:42And when you consider this kind of a delay, this kind of infuriating, unnecessary delay,
00:15:48caused by quite, quite a menial part, you wonder why there isn't some kind of redundancy system,
00:15:55something just to provide some ambient light, perhaps from an external light, just something basic.
00:16:01So that if the main panel illuminating system does fail, which it can do.
00:16:06I mean, these cars are under immense stress, heat and vibration,
00:16:10which causes all sorts of componentry, especially electrical, that can be quite delicate.
00:16:15It does fail over time.
00:16:16But you would have thought, surely, they would have some kind of a backup, wouldn't they?
00:16:21Yeah, and they're working in that rear front wheel well, aren't they?
00:16:23There must be the connections somewhere in there.
00:16:25I mean, they're obviously fitted, but they're not working.
00:16:28No, we heard that Martin Houghton came in a few minutes together,
00:16:30saying that the Murphy prototypes team had an identical problem.
00:16:33They couldn't fix it.
00:16:34They had to come in and kind of rebuild that light panel and get it back onto the racetrack.
00:16:42So what we're talking about there has been confirmed to us here over our intercom system.
00:16:49And that is a lengthy pit stop that is still going on.
00:16:52And the number two car is, and that's just...
00:16:55Well, we're riding on board at the moment, so it must be coming in if they've been called in by race control.
00:17:00Well, I tell you what.
00:17:01We sat adjacent to the edge of the circuit as the cars come through the final corner onto the start-finish straight.
00:17:07They're running past our window from left to right, and I reckon there is more than a handful of cars,
00:17:14probably more than they're listed on the current race control timing screens.
00:17:19There are 11 shown there, so...
00:17:20There are a lot of cars that are coming through with, right now, two cars going through.
00:17:24Yeah.
00:17:25We can't see the side numbers.
00:17:26Now, whether or not that's because the illumination has failed electrically,
00:17:30or they haven't been cleaned properly, is another thing.
00:17:33And actually, the strength of the illumination isn't even that great.
00:17:36You would have thought there would be systems by now.
00:17:38But another car going through now, I can't even see what it is.
00:17:42BDI, Jeremy.
00:17:43No, no, 28 probably. Sorry, it's a Morgan.
00:17:45I think it was him.
00:17:46That was relatively easy to see which one that is.
00:17:49Now, look, this is a major problem.
00:17:51I guess Neil Jarny will not be brought in until they've done the fix on this car.
00:17:55No, what can I do?
00:17:56He was just in for...
00:17:57That was routine service there for Neil Jarny in the car number two,
00:18:02because that had been 13 laps since he was last in,
00:18:05so that was a scheduled service for them.
00:18:07And we'll have to wait and see now, when he comes around,
00:18:09whether that light panel is indeed illuminated.
00:18:12Well, this is becoming a major job.
00:18:17I mean, look at this.
00:18:18They've got a lovely little garage jack there, haven't they?
00:18:20I don't have a pit as well.
00:18:21Just do the whole Monty.
00:18:22When you take your car for an M.O.T.
00:18:24Yeah, he's still in the pits, isn't he?
00:18:26So he's losing a lot of time here.
00:18:29Ah, this is hard for Brendan Hartley,
00:18:31the defending world champions in the World Endurance Championship.
00:18:35Brendan Hartley and Mark Webber.
00:18:38One self and safety man in the pits has said it's okay.
00:18:41They're going to get underneath the car and see what's going on.
00:18:43But as you say, Jarny's continuing on his way.
00:18:46He's done his out lap and he's now on his first flying lap since leaving the pits.
00:18:51If you were the held, you know, the held back Audi, the Audi that's had all the problems from the start, the number seven car, you would have been totally fair enough for thinking, how can we ever get in back?
00:19:07What did they lose?
00:19:08What did they lose?
00:19:09Six laps at the beginning of the race?
00:19:10Seven, yeah.
00:19:11Seven laps for that turbo that failed on them very unexpectedly.
00:19:15They're still seven laps behind, but they've clawed back one lap already from the rebellion ahead of them.
00:19:20And these incidents that we're starting to see now with their rival teams, this one that Brendan's suffering in the Porsche, this is where you get that spark of hope, isn't it?
00:19:30And you think, ah, one lap a year, maybe they'll gain two laps on the Porsche, maybe three.
00:19:35Who knows?
00:19:36We're about to find out.
00:19:37Yeah.
00:19:38That's just what the drivers need to reinvigorate their motivation.
00:19:41Not that they will have been trying anything less than their best, but you just need that little extra push to keep the fight up when, for all intent and purposes, it seems done so soon in the race.
00:19:54And this is the world championship and it's double points.
00:19:57So if you just keep pushing, you're going to get more points than you would at any other race.
00:20:02So keep going, keep going.
00:20:03Of course, you know, it's, it's a, it's a delay, but you know, we're still nowhere near, are we halfway through the race?
00:20:09So a long, long time to go.
00:20:10So we're just, what is it?
00:20:12Just less than nine hours remaining.
00:20:15My math isn't very good.
00:20:16No, we've done.
00:20:17What have we done?
00:20:18How long have we done?
00:20:19Eight hours and 17 minutes.
00:20:21Is that right?
00:20:22Yeah.
00:20:23That's right.
00:20:24Yeah.
00:20:25We started at 1500.
00:20:26That's right.
00:20:27We've got a few.
00:20:28Thanks everybody for writing in on Twitter.
00:20:32Using the hashtag ask your support.
00:20:35A few people writing in now asking how are these very thin number panels illuminated anyway?
00:20:42Um, Jeremy, you might have a better understanding than me, but I think it's like, it's a current that passes through, um, you know, a, a, a numbered panel that.
00:20:52those electrical like diode yeah but your Christmas tree lights or these sort of
00:20:58things but they just do it for a flat plate yeah it's a little bit of time
00:21:13movement reported back there from like to foul they'll be testing the endurance
00:21:18of these tires they're probably moving on to the softer compounds as we're
00:21:22getting into the cooler temperatures of the night the teams want to keep the
00:21:26drivers out on track as long as possible because if they can triple stint them or
00:21:31even quadruple it right we can't take a break so just remember to go over to

00:39:04Einstein once said there are only two things that are infinite the universe and the human stupidity and I am not even sure about the universe limitless stupidity on one side and limited alcohol on the other side you mix the two together and you have yourself a nice little oligan they don't give a shit about football their only purpose in life is violence and chaos who knows maybe my old friend from
00:39:34Crystal Palace was part of the gang in Marseille but enough with this f**king pieces of f**k today the self-appointed commissioner of football wants to be positive the Europe started there are plenty of good things to talk about Italy Italy has proven that they could eat 11 mushy Belgian waffles even if they were not al dente
00:40:04that's a good thing
00:40:05German is a bollocks skate their coach was caught on cameras with his hands on the two sides of his pants is it a good thing
00:40:16yes it proves that he has got some balls at least unlike some coaches that I know it wasn't even scratching it was
00:40:26he was re-adjusting checking that everything was there at the euro you have the biggest concentration of air gel per square meter on the field that's good for France
00:40:39he catches all the flies and the mosquitoes
00:40:44Mr. Blatt
00:40:48the self-appointed godfather of football
00:40:54he told us a very interesting story about a European championship draw being fixed something to do with cold balls and hot balls that you touch and you can pick the right one
00:41:08I just hope that the German coach has nothing to do with this
00:41:13you see it's it's not hard to find positive things
00:41:18they even tell us that Russia could be excluded from the euro in case of another incident
00:41:23the same country whose athletes could be excluded from the Olympics for systematic doping
00:41:28will it happen
00:41:30let's be positive
00:41:32what
00:41:34if you play against Germany
00:41:36at the German coach come to shake your hand
00:41:38think twice about it

00:45:59and a half behind the race leader when we get back to green flag racing which is about what
00:46:06they were beforehand in actual before the safety car came out in actual fact so that's about right
00:46:11but talk about changing that note section on that on that toyota sam
00:46:16yes sorry i was actually just picking out um thanks to lee turner on twitter he's just he's
00:46:20just retweeted audi i didn't know that the audis both had to pit to have the number panels on the
00:46:26side repaired did you did you spot that that's completely passed me by um that they will some
00:46:32of the cars that race director eduardo freitas called into the pits demanding that they make
00:46:39sure the side number panels are clear to race control i don't think they were but if he's
00:46:45saying that that's a fact then then find out that they uh they had various other difficulties both of
00:46:50those cars that comes from audi sport on twitter so i'm guessing guessing it's correct they're fine so
00:46:57that was a routine service they were talking about then was it yeah we're still in a safety car
00:47:03surprisingly don't you think yeah that's some time they cleared the pull down a lot of aston from the
00:47:09just the just the near edge of the gravel trap it wasn't deeply buried there was a little bit of debris
00:47:13didn't look like too much but it did hit the wall hard so i guess it's armco repair making sure that the
00:47:20armco is structurally has its structural integrity back before they can release the cars again to full
00:47:29speed racing
00:47:42number five toyota of kazuki nakajima just making his pit stop there they are changing the nose so we
00:47:49talked about the two downforce configurations that toyota have got they've got this low downforce
00:47:55which is normal for le mans an ultra low downforce package which apparently they've developed for
00:48:00this year's le mans so far being credited with their standout performance so far it's quite a
00:48:07quite a trick to be able to bleed down bleed drag from the car but maintain downforce and it could well
00:48:14be that as conditions cool at night and the cars pick up quite a lot of normally quite a lot of
00:48:18understeer they feel the need just to go back to slightly higher downforce configuration yeah and
00:48:24that was uh four kind of a five that was its uh 11th pit stop of the day um and that was certainly
00:48:32earlier than it needed to come in i'm curious just curious as to why they would come in during that uh
00:48:38during while the safety car is out there because it's only been 11 laps since its last pit stop so
00:48:42it certainly didn't need to come in that time have been removed we are still repairing some guard
00:48:49rails we had a few damages there we took the opportunity to do all the repairs which we needed
00:48:55we are also cleaning the track at several places to get rid of the gravel and we assume this won't last
00:49:02long we hope this won't last long so there is our race director Eduardo Freight has informed me
00:49:07this is exactly why this is an extended safety car period sam i'm just going to say um i'm going to
00:49:13shoot off and we're going to let noel hey take the hot seat but thanks everybody for tweeting into me
00:49:19at hancock underscore sam but do keep using the hashtag ask eurosport and even whilst i'm off there i'll do my
00:49:26best to answer some of your questions and the guys here in the booth will keep trying to get to the
00:49:32bottom of any of your queries whilst the coverage continues have a good night thank you sam and uh
00:49:37we're joined now by carlton kirby who's back with us for carlton and boy there's been all sorts of
00:49:41dramas over the last uh last half an hour or so honestly i step out of the booth and all hell breaks
00:49:48right well i've got some news for you the 78 porsche is losing all power or uh 30 so far on one of its
00:49:56cylinder banks so it's in serious trouble um the rebellions we understand that both of them are
00:50:01going to have a clutch change um just getting this news in right now so you're first to hear this it's
00:50:10been hugely dramatic um those of you who have spent some time with us in the past here at le mans know
00:50:19that we have something called the up all night club now it's supposed to start in about 12 minutes time but
00:50:26chomping at the bit is neville hay and um we'll be coming to neville uh after our commercial break
00:50:34but as you all know um if you were to take a larynx smoke it and douse it in licorice you're kind of
00:50:41approximating exactly what level sounds like let's just listen to radio
00:50:57there we are restart at turn 17 arnage it seems like they've got the night crew on as well
00:51:04sounded a bit like a boy scout that drafted in they were doing a great job by the way uh
00:51:08volunteering in the car parks etc but um i guess even the announcer has to take something of a break
00:51:14we're going to do exactly the same and when we come back we will have uh the good lord um neville of hay
00:51:21uh with us and he'll be carrying us through the night uh interjected of course by myself uh jeremy
00:51:26and uh uh martin haven as well as chris parsons so plenty to talk about it's where we go all historic
00:51:32um if not hysterical so uh please stay with us uh for that i thought we were heading for a break
00:51:38incidentally but it looks like that's uh seemingly been delayed
00:51:44well in that case never might as well say hello to you now well yes i thought so i mean we've had
00:51:49hancock's half hour which was a lot longer actually half an hour um and uh well we've got it's all
00:51:55happening isn't it i mean it's been a very difficult sort of hour for an awful lot of people particularly
00:52:02i fear uh we've got one porsche that's been in real trouble for a long time and i rather think that
00:52:09it might be terminal well it certainly seems that way apparently the uh one of the cylinder banks is
00:52:14is just about to give way um it's down 30 but that was only in the last couple of laps
00:52:19and so uh unfortunately it looks like the 78 it's wolf hansler who's on board at the moment
00:52:24it's looking um well um not quite sure whether it's terminal or not they're dealing with it he
00:52:31is in the pits as we speak as are so many including the one car uh which has remained there it's been
00:52:38pitted for um well over half an hour now and what it means is the rebellions have been promoted in
00:52:43pettori in the 13 car and it looks like we are racing again
00:53:02well that was like a what's been a helium jar i'm afraid i can't hear any of that
00:53:07well what's happened actually is that they've all been behind the pace car the pace car has gone in
00:53:14so now you've got a long long tail back before they've sort themselves out a little bit because
00:53:19all the gaps have closed down and um people like sound very good at closing gaps and things like that
00:53:24yeah we know we're still on a safety car here uh and well i thought it was due to pull off actually
00:53:30lights around but it's next time by say we are in this lap you say when the safety car pulls off
00:53:35then sarazan will get the uh the all the all clear to go again at our nage for some reason yes
00:53:43so the race leader will be the first one to get the green flag at our nage corner so 137 laps
00:53:51completed by our race leader neil jarny in second place is he uh is also on the lead lap
00:54:05so
00:54:13so
00:54:15so
00:54:55Oh, my God.
00:55:25Oh, my God.

00:56:41Oh, my God.
00:56:43Oh, my God.
00:56:45Oh, my God.
00:56:47Oh, my God.
00:56:49Oh, my God.
00:56:51Oh, my God.
00:56:53Oh, my God.
00:56:55Oh, my God.
00:56:57Oh, my God.
00:56:59Oh, my God.
00:57:01Oh, my God.
00:57:03Oh, my God.
00:57:05Oh, my God.
00:57:07Oh, my God.
00:57:09Oh, my God.
00:57:11Oh, my God.
00:57:13Oh, my God.
00:57:15Oh, my God.
00:57:17Oh, my God.
00:57:23Oh, my God.
00:57:25Oh, my God.
00:57:27Oh, my God.
00:57:29track i think that should just allow perhaps mike comry to resume without losing the lead i'm not
00:57:36quite sure um one of the toyotas incidentally had a problem with its light board uh was called in
00:57:43uh then went back out and got floor damage and came back in again so it's a an assembly of
00:57:50problems i'm afraid this is a great duel we're watching at the moment between the sixth toyota
00:57:54and the number two porsche uh this is a battle that's raging right now i think that's the two
00:58:00leaders isn't it going on to yeah that is yeah that's the fight so conway was indeed able to
00:58:06maintain his lead but not very much and look at this the hybrid power there of the porsche able
00:58:12to draft past mike conway on that straight towards the first chicane well the toyota's made side by
00:58:18side they are all the way down here the toyota's oh and it was only at the very last minute that he
00:58:22see the position yes it was a question of the last of the late breakers i think that was
00:58:27yeah very interesting how the the cars deploy their their uh kinetic energy recovery systems
00:58:35there that hybrid power and then they kind of run out of hybrid power halfway down the straight
00:58:39and clearly uh what you know one of them ran out a little bit earlier than the other one they were
00:58:44to go side by side from their tremendous battle then for the what is now the the lead of this motor
00:58:49race with 138 laps in the books well johnny it is that uh takes uh the advantage here we are uh on
00:58:57board um i beg your pardon with uh johnny right now fantastic efforts and um yes i think contemplation
00:59:04is is uh the watch word um on the outlet conway boemi incidentally in the uh five toyota also on track
00:59:12but a minute and 19 down this couldn't be closer um it was about this time that the uh tv cameras used
00:59:18to get switched off for the evening uh we used to go just past midnight and then they'd leave uh locked
00:59:23off cameras only on one of the straights and that was all you got uh but we are following the race
00:59:29throughout the 24 hours and uh we're glad of that i remember that very well because it was
00:59:34made that quite difficult really it wasn't anything you could find to talk about
00:59:40well it was a very short radio interlude sorry about that nevon you were saying um i think the
00:59:44interesting point now is mike conway who has as far as i'm aware a lot less experience uh i don't know
00:59:52how many lamors he's done i'm too sure it might be his first one who i mike conway i can't no no no no
00:59:59just off the top of my head it was certainly earlier much much earlier on in his career i think
01:00:03before he was when he was last here no he he raced here last year did him with uh with the toyota team
01:00:09and his debut was in 2013 so this is his third start uh and yeah he finished six last year so uh last
01:00:16time out so uh yeah he's got plenty of experience
