00:00I'm a very, very English producer.
00:02Oh my god, what a boring film.
00:04Silly Chicken and a Canneco.
00:05Hiya.
00:06Thanks, guys.
00:07We brought the British sunshine out for you today.
00:09I love it.
00:10You've got the true British experience.
00:11You know, the good thing is, my mom's side of the family
00:13is from Seattle, so I'm not too unfamiliar.
00:15That's the end.
00:16We have all four seasons in one day.
00:18So this is pretty cool, isn't it?
00:19This is amazing.
00:20It's so amazing.
00:21And it's particularly amazing because people are actually
00:24enjoying the film, and that means the world.
00:26I just want to go this thing on.
00:28Yeah, there you go.
00:29Nice, really nice.
00:30The whole time.
00:31Oh, that's how we should start all the interviews.
00:32Exactly, I love it.
00:33John Bishop, when you first met him,
00:35did you understand what he was saying?
00:39That's actually one of his jokes in stand-up
00:40when he's in America, which is so funny.
00:43I did only because I had a cheat code.
00:46My first producer of my album, Adrian Gervitz,
00:49is a very, very English producer, so I had a little cheat code.
00:56You know what I mean?
00:57I had been living with it for years.
00:58Behind the scenes, were you guys trying to do the
01:00Liverpudlian accent together?
01:01Yeah, for sure.
01:02I do it literally all the time.
01:03It's a sticky chicken and a can of Coke, isn't it?
01:05Yeah?
01:06Sticky chicken and a can of Coke.
01:07Sticky chicken and a can of Coke.
01:08Sticky chicken and a can of Coke.
01:09Wait, that's really good.
01:10Yeah.
01:11Sticky chicken and a can of Coke.
01:12Nice.
01:13Was that good?
01:14Was that really good?
01:15Well done.
01:16Well done.
01:17We'll put that to Bradley and see if he uses it.
01:18Nice.
01:19Yeah, let's see.
01:20And then tell me who does better.
01:21I will do.
01:22So who's going to play you in your own film then?
01:23What are you thinking?
01:24Oh my God, what a boring film.
01:25Let's see.
01:26Come on now.
01:27Who would play me in my film?
01:29Who would play me in my film?
01:32Maybe Storm Reid.
01:33I really like her.
01:34Yeah, she's cool.
01:35She's a vibe.
01:36And she's cute.
01:37I like her, yeah.
01:38Storm Reid.
01:39What's the girl's name I like?
01:40Chase Infinity.
01:42Who is it?
01:43Chase Infinity.
01:44Oh, Chase Infinity.
01:46She is amazing.
01:47Oh, yes, yes, yes.
01:48There we go.
01:49So that, yeah.
01:50I'll put that to her as well.
01:51There you go.
01:52Nice, nice.
01:53The script will be like five pages long.
01:54But yeah, great.
01:55It's too short.
01:56Have you seen more films with you singing in, please?
01:58Yeah.
01:59What happens next?
02:00That was actually, that was not written in the script.
02:02That was just, Bradley just had an idea one day in the middle of the night.
02:06And so he calls me and he's like, hey, what do you think about singing Amazing Grace?
02:10I'm like, I love the song.
02:11It's great.
02:12Let's do it.
02:13Wow.
02:14And it was so great because I think like, A, his vision is just, you know, I can't say enough about that.
02:18But it's like, it could have easily not worked.
02:20But it had the opposite effect and it really grounded these friends as people who just are just
02:25are so familiar with each other, so comfortable with each other.
02:29This is what they do on a daily basis.
02:31It doesn't even need to be acknowledged.
02:32This is just what, you know, we're used to doing.
02:34And then being able to sing with Sean Hayes was pretty amazing.
02:36And Scott Eisenhower, yeah.
02:38And just finally, Bradley is an actor as well, now the director.
02:41Yes.
02:42What was that dynamic like?
02:43Was it strange him being on set?
02:44Were you a bit like, hang on a minute, you can't tell me what to do.
02:46What?
02:47You're my co-star.
02:48You're in the scene.
02:49That's ridiculous.
02:50First of all, I would have let him anyway because he's a phenomenal actor.
02:53And I'm still new to this.
02:54So I'm like, right.
02:55You know, just trying to soak up every morsel.
02:57I'm on set with Bradley Cooper, Laura Dern, Will Arnett.
03:00So I'm like, I'm going to absorb every morsel and I'm going to let this grow.
03:03I've also never done something that was comedy as well.
03:07You know what I mean?
03:08So I think that was definitely a learning curve.
03:10But having him on set, I mean, I think it was actually amazing.
03:15I think I was intimidated, of course, but I'm intimidated every time I step onto set.
03:20But at the same time, it also just made everything really fluid.
03:23And I was like, wow, this guy, I mean, his vision is crystal clear.
03:27So to have him as an actor and a director, but also as a camera operator.
03:31So I'm like, I'm getting everything right in the moment.
03:34His instincts are my acting instincts.
03:36He needs to stop hugging the jumps.
03:37No, it's insane.
03:38But also, like, kind of keep hugging them because you're really good at it.
03:41You know what I mean?
03:42I love it.
03:43But no, so it just made everything really immediate.
03:45Everything very alive, very present, and very, very honest, which is paramount for him.
03:49So it was such an incredible, I can't, I don't have enough words to describe how great the experience was.
03:54Thank you so much.
03:55Get practicing.
03:56Sticky chicken.
03:57Sticky chicken.
03:58And mechanical.
03:59Mechanical.
04:00I think I ate that.
