00:00We all watched The Reunion. We know it was a disaster.
00:02It must be a hard watch.
00:04A year later to go, you said what to her?
00:06Just play Thunderbirds to it, which in my opinion is the most underrated, busted song.
00:11Thank you very much.
00:13If that doesn't do it, then Scourish is not worth your time.
00:17Guys, congratulations. Series 3, Love is Blind.
00:20I know.
00:20I remember getting into Love is Blind years.
00:22I think, was it lockdown when the US series came out?
00:25Yeah, yeah.
00:25And we all just started obsessing over other people's loved lives.
00:28It was great.
00:30Yeah.
00:30Let's talk Series 3 then. We're three seasons in.
00:34We all say seasons now. It always annoys me to say seasons, but we're all American, aren't we?
00:38What's new? What's changed? What's the same? What can we expect?
00:42Well, it's all the same with the principle of the show.
00:48What's changed is the contributors, obviously.
00:52You can expect all the things that you love about the show.
00:58I think, I wouldn't say dialled up, but we've got more of the goodness.
01:08Yeah.
01:08I think.
01:09Yeah.
01:10It's our favourite series, yeah.
01:12I think if you like Love is Blind, you're going to bloody love Season 3.
01:15Because it's got everything you want and more.
01:16How does this lot compare to previous contestants?
01:19Because I always think about, like, reality TV, kind of a loose term because it means so
01:23many different types of things now.
01:24Yeah.
01:24Like, growing up on kind of Big Brother, it always seemed like we had, like, just crazy,
01:29unique individuals on reality TV.
01:31And now whenever you think reality TV, you think of influencers who are already influencers
01:34who are, like, stepping into another show to be influencers.
01:37So how does a show like this try and stay apart and find those unique people?
01:41And do you think you've managed to do that in this series?
01:44Well, I think it has one defining factor, and that is we want people who genuinely want to find a
01:51life partner.
01:53And if they feel like they have, they can get legally married at the end of it.
01:58So it's not something you can just go on as, you know, a member of the public or an influencer
02:04who are like, oh, I just want to be on telly for a bit.
02:06You can kind of use other shows to do that if you want to do it.
02:09This is, it's unique in that way that we have to really, or the team that find the contributors,
02:16they really are looking for people who really want to be there and do that.
02:22Otherwise, the show is pointless. Do you know what I mean?
02:25It's a long process to get cast on the show.
02:27Like, they've got to find the right people for what this show is about.
02:30And like Emma said, if you want to just be famous, there are other shows you should probably go on.
02:34That probably a little less work, I guess.
02:36Yeah, a little less.
02:38A little less on the line.
02:40Emotionally entangle yourself with somebody for a long time.
02:42Exactly.
02:43And you see that in the pods this year, you really see them kind of open.
02:48Have you seen?
02:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:50I love how many notes they take.
02:51Yeah.
02:52They're serious about it this year.
02:54They have their notes, they have their like, pretty serious questions that they want to get out there
03:00and get to the bottom of because they don't want to mess about.
03:02They don't want to spend time getting to know someone if things like values and what they want from life
03:07are not aligning.
03:08So, and they're all really quite open and quite sensitive as well, some of the subjects this year.
03:16So, yeah, I think it's a, they were all, they nailed the contributors this year.
03:24Like we had a lot of them who genuinely seemed to want it.
03:29And the results, have you seen all of it?
03:31Not all of it, not yet, no.
03:32I'm not going to say any more then.
03:33The results are a mystery.
03:35A mystery.
03:36A mystery to all of us.
03:37About to be revealed shortly.
03:40Yeah.
03:40Absolutely.
03:41Let's talk, let's go back a little bit to series two.
03:45Let's say series two.
03:47Series two.
03:47Let's bring it back, guys.
03:48Let's go back to series two.
03:49Ended with a bit of a romantic disaster, I guess, in a way.
03:54Really?
03:54Well, like all but one of the couples sort of partied.
03:59We all watched the reunion.
04:01Exactly.
04:01We know it was a disaster.
04:04During moments like that, do you guys think, oh, that's just part of the course?
04:06Or do you think, okay, is there something about this structure that doesn't work?
04:11Or was it just, you know, just misfortune?
04:14I think the thing about Love is Blind is that it's proven that it does work.
04:18Like there's been multiple couples that have got married and are still together.
04:21We've got one couple with a baby now.
04:24Jasmine and Bobby.
04:25Yeah, which is a beautiful thing.
04:27So this does work, you know.
04:28I mean, you never know.
04:31Like you're dealing with people and lives that happen outside of the show, you know.
04:34So it's always up in the air as to what's going to come at you in the reunion show.
04:40But isn't that the same as online dating?
04:43Like you are swiping and swiping.
04:44I don't know which way you swipe online dating.
04:46I've never done it.
04:48But you will go on multiple dates and maybe none of them will work out.
04:52And I think the proportions are probably similar.
04:55The ratio is probably very similar, yeah.
04:57Really? Yeah.
04:57Like if you think, if you follow…
04:59He's probably better on something like this because you're actually spending a lot more time talking to someone than swiping
05:02away.
05:02And you know that everyone's in it for the same reason.
05:06Whereas you don't know what anyone's in it for when you're swiping whichever way you swipe.
05:11Yeah.
05:13Do you think it's harder?
05:15Do you think it's harder?
05:16Like it must be difficult when you go on a show like this.
05:19Or you go on a show like Love Island where it's a little bit more salacious I guess.
05:23To maintain those connections post when suddenly you're flooded with a lot of interest and outside kind of influence.
05:30And people wanting to know your business and stuff.
05:32Well this, this is why this is different as well.
05:35Because when they're living it and doing it and forming either the first part until they decide they don't want
05:42to do it or they remain.
05:45They're not in the public eye.
05:47They don't have that attention for a whole year.
05:50We don't, none of us are going to know if any of those couples are still together until we do
05:55a reunion with them.
05:56So they, it's a long time to hang on and be married to someone if all you're waiting for.
06:04Yeah.
06:05Is something that may or may not potentially happen.
06:09Yeah.
06:09So they don't really have that.
06:12Like they have to keep everything a secret if they remain together until the big reveal.
06:18I've always wondered on shows like this, are you ever tempted, probably contractually you're not allowed to,
06:24are you ever tempted to slip a note into saying, by the way, X or Y is a bit of
06:28a wrong.
06:28Did you not see something happen?
06:3018 of them on the go at the moment like.
06:32Did you not see what happened to Nasty Nick when he slipped a note?
06:35Er, Nasty Nick, are we going back to that?
06:37Wow, big brother season one.
06:39There are no, there are no note slipping.
06:40Now you're talking about language.
06:40She knows every LATV.
06:42Oh man, that's a shame.
06:44I mean straight away in the, I've seen a couple of episodes of this series and there's,
06:47this one guy's got a bit of interest going.
06:50And I suppose that's part of the fun is when people are learning outside of the booths,
06:55who's been messing around with X, Y, and Z.
06:58Yeah.
06:59But that's part, it's.
07:00And then the lies that happen as well, the barefaced lies, they'll tell each other like,
07:03well he told me this and you know that he hasn't told you that.
07:06Yeah.
07:06That's good.
07:07Yeah, that is quite, well that's what's so, so great about it as well, isn't it?
07:10This, this whole kind of like the fact that they are dating multiple people and you can't
07:15judge them for that because you are too, you know, like, so as much as.
07:19And they, they enter into that knowing that, right.
07:21That's, that's part of the process of the structure.
07:24It must be a hard watch.
07:25It's got to be.
07:26A year later to go, you said what to her.
07:27Yeah.
07:28But it is, it must be difficult to be there because you can enter into it with the best will
07:33in the world going, I know what it is.
07:34I know that everyone's going to be dating everyone.
07:36And that's just, but then once you're in there and you make friends with these people
07:40and then you hear that maybe your friend is talking to the same person, that has got
07:43to get difficult.
07:43That's got to get.
07:44Which is maybe why, like Fran did a good thing in like keeping it, keeping everything
07:52really to herself rather than sharing everything.
07:54Yeah.
07:54Because then it's like, well, I, I know what it is.
07:57I know how tricky it can get.
07:58But if I just keep, if I just keep what I'm doing to me, then it doesn't get messy.
08:06And however much you go into it.
08:08Whether it backfires on whoever or not.
08:10Yeah.
08:10I'm trying not to say too much.
08:12You did a very good job as if going around it.
08:14I, uh, I'm running out of time, but I've got one more question for you.
08:16You guys have been, I think you've been married for like 18 years or something.
08:20Yeah.
08:20Which is like 80 years and celebrity years really.
08:23Like.
08:24Hold on a minute.
08:25People say that though, right?
08:27It's true.
08:27Surely.
08:28But.
08:29Maybe more now than before.
08:31No, because it's the same as everybody.
08:33Isn't it?
08:34Loads of marriages outside of the telly.
08:37I get it.
08:37However.
08:38And lots don't.
08:38If you've got like nine to fives and you're working in an office, let's say, and you,
08:42you, you only meet like six new people a week, but the rest of the time it's the same
08:46people over.
08:46It's different to being in the public eye when people are adoring you from afar and
08:50you'll go on a play or a film or a show or come out with a song.
08:53And there's people going, Oh my God, I wish I could meet that person.
08:56I think that is, that is, that is, you go to a bar and there could be people going, I
08:59love you so much.
09:00That is different to a normal person.
09:02So I think celebrities staying together.
09:03It's wishy-washy as it sounds is more impressive.
09:06The love is like more has to be, the bonds have to be stronger.
09:09I think then someone who just works in a little chef.
09:12I think if somebody wants to be distracted by somebody, they will no matter what they
09:16do.
09:17Yeah.
09:17Very good point.
09:18Very good point.
09:18How much you buy into that stuff as well.
09:20Like if you buy into that, you buy into it.
09:22And if you don't, or you see it for what it is and it's different.
09:24Yeah.
09:25Yeah.
09:25Well, the, the question I had there before they took me out was if you guys met in a
09:31situation like this, what is it about each other that you think would attract you to about
09:37like, you can't meet, you've not seen each other.
09:39You're just talking in a booth for a few weeks or however long it is.
09:42What do you think would be the thing that got your attention?
09:45His charisma.
09:46I think I know.
09:47He's the most charismatic person you'll ever meet in your life.
09:49I think I know I could have fun with her.
09:51I'll be like, she's really good fun and she's kind.
09:54Tick, tick.
09:55Just play Thunderbirds to it, which in my opinion is the most underrated, busted song.
10:00Thank you very much.
10:02If that doesn't do it, then screw it, she's not worth your time.
10:06Hey, babe, listen to this.
10:07Listen to this.
10:08Do you want to know who I am?
10:09This is me.
10:10Yeah, exactly.
10:10This is me.
10:11Guys, pleasure.
10:13Looking forward to catching on you in the future.
10:14Love is Blind, season four.
10:16Series four.
10:17Yes.
10:18Fingers crossed for that one.
10:19Fingers crossed.
10:20No, no, I'm saying, I'm looking at season four.
10:22Oh, wow.
10:23Yeah.
10:24Five, six and seven.
10:25Keep manifesting that.
10:26Keep manifesting that.
10:27I love that.
10:27Love that.
10:28All right, guys.
10:28Pleasure.
