00:00let's kind of take a look back at what happened in the national football league on sunday and in

00:04case you missed it last night the game that was supposed to be the game of the week maybe in the

00:07nfl fell far short short of that my gosh the chiefs in the second half just put it on the

00:14detroit lions in a way that we haven't seen anyone do the lions basically since opening day when they

00:18played green bay 30 to 17 the final as the offense of the chiefs in rare form as we you know basically

00:26haven't seen the chiefs put their foot on the pedal the last couple of years it's just been a lot of

00:30dink and dunk and some passing over to travis kelsey and a wide receiver every now and then and running

00:35the ball but not last night and not this season so mahomes said after the game that he knew that it

00:40was going to require a lot more offense to beat a team like detroit yeah no we knew we had to have

00:45an aggressive mindset they have an aggressive mindset as a team and um coach rey came in with

00:49the right mindset we had talked about different plays that we liked and other than one fourth

00:52down i thought we did a great job of executing at the right time and so um uh coach believes in us

00:58man it gives us a more of a belief in ourselves and um guys made it happen and we were able to get

01:02i think there's like three or four or two or three of those uh fourth downs as far as the game we just

01:07didn't make the plays that needed to uh make you know we were able to do some things good in phases

01:12at times but not enough for a team like that uh you know with the pedigree they have the way they play

01:19back at their house uh we could not complement each other uh and we weren't able to uh really make it

01:26a game we really weren't so that's really the story of the game the seahawks yesterday went to

01:34jacksonville cross country by the way the most picked game in all of the sports betting contests

01:39was seattle and for the first time all season in the nfl the most popular pick won seahawks go on

01:45the road and win 20 to 12 in jacksonville sam darnold threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns

01:52jackson smith and jig buck continues to be one of the very best offensive players in the entire nfl

01:58here's darnold at the end on the win yeah obviously you know it's a great team win first and foremost

02:03um you know thought we could have you know done some things better um you know on offense especially

02:09in the second half um but again we we got the win um which is what matters but we'll look at the

02:13tape and grow from there um but you know our defense our special teams um you know that was

02:20they came up huge today um and you know it was good to get those explosive plays i will say especially

02:25in the first half um but yeah there's a lot to improve on but we're excited about the win

02:30meanwhile the indianapolis colts eked out a win against the arizona cardinals who were playing

02:35without quarterback kyler murray 31 to 27 in this one colts were seven point favorites throughout the

02:42week and then nine and a half by the time the game kicked off so cardinals did cover the spread

02:46in that one daniel jones quarterback of the colts said they're finding new ways to win yeah good to

02:52see uh for sure um you know we've had games play out different ways you know this season and this one

02:58uh you know we knew was going to be a competitive game they're a good football team and a good defense

03:04over there so um yeah it came down the fourth quarter and good to see uh us be able to execute in that

03:10situation go down and score and then uh great stop by the defense there at the end well i mean i think

03:16you always want the ball in your hands with the chance to win the game i think that's what we all

03:19uh what we all prepare for and want especially as a quarterback you want the ball in your hands to go

03:24down and and win it uh for sure but i'm not going to complain if the defense stops them and and we uh

03:30get a first down kneel on it that's true yeah buccaneers beat the 49ers baker mayfield making a case

03:38for the mvp of the nfl 30 to 19 the final there mayfield was fantastic couple of injuries in this

03:43game though fred warner suffered a season-ending foot injury and wide receiver ameka ibuka of the

03:49buccaneers a hamstring issue he's been one of the best receivers in the nfl as a rookie

03:53justin herbert led the chargers back with under a minute to beat the dolphins 29 to 27 so they don't

03:59cover the game did go over the spread one of the hottest teams in the nfl happens to be the new

04:05england patriots they win yet again they go on the road win 25 to 19 to take down the saints they win

04:12and cover that spread the patriots have been one of the big surprises in the nfl this season here's

04:16mike vrabel on putting a full game together well just kept battling you know none of it was perfect

04:22today and you know give them a lot of credit um they they competed they answered um but you know we

04:32extended plays and made some huge plays down the field and you know glimpses of good football and

04:37you know we'll have to clean up a lot of things but uh certainly great to go on a road and and be able

04:43to get a win how much is that a teachable win you know the young team getting out of here with a win

04:48plenty to work on but just finding a way to get the job it's better than an old team getting out of

04:53here with a loss i would say but um you know we will never not enjoy and embrace winning

05:00in this league but i do think that guys are very aware of um the fact that it it can be better and

05:08that it will have to be better uh the more that we go along here and play so i think that that was

05:14that's a good sign that they're that they know that there's some plays that we left out there

05:18that we could have played better but you know to do that on the road and be able to end it

05:23uh with the ball uh offensively and in victory formation is you know fun yesterday the baltimore

05:33ravens fell to an unthinkable one and five without lamar jackson yesterday case keenan was benched

05:39new puntley came in more of the same results 17 to 3 easy win yesterday for the rams the pittsburgh

05:46steelers also had it easy against the cleveland browns 23 to 9 the final there steelers win and

05:51cover no word on who will start a quarterback for the rounds this week that'll be a story

05:55panthers beat the cowboys 30 to 27 on a game-winning field goal and once again it was rico dowdle with

06:03over 200 yards from scrimmage for dowdle who's been awesome with chuba hubbard being out joe flacco

06:10comes in as starting quarterback of the bengals it looked pretty bleak for about a half but the team

06:15rallied at least made it somewhat close 27 to 18 was the final in that one and the titans continue

06:22to struggle yet again on the road the raiders win this one 20 to 10 behind geno smith and ashton

06:29genti on the ground in london but disastrous game i don't know this is the one game i think that wasn't

06:36worth watching in the day as the denver broncos end up winning but they didn't need to do much

06:41as they take out the new york jets in a game where the jets had negative passing yards and the

06:46broncos couldn't do very much of anything as well all right major league baseball by the way before

06:51we get to uh the game last night some breaking news in baseball the manager of the san diego

06:56padres mike schilt has announced that he is going to retire effective immediately schilt led the

07:02padres to the postseason yet again has done a wonderful job there but just i guess some of the

07:06quotes i'm reading in the story saying that he's just tired and worn out and end of a career

07:11managing for schilt did a great job in st louis and in san diego as well so they are now looking for

07:16a manager too all right in terms of the game yesterday mariners win by a final of three to one

07:21key hit in the game was cal raleigh here he is on hitting a home run to win cal the home run with

07:26gossman what were you thinking did you have to make an adjustment because he was going split heavy

07:30yeah uh the second in the bat he went he went all splits but um he's really tough he's one of the

07:36best pitchers in the game uh obviously he's got two elite you know really good pitches with the

07:40heater and the splitter uh they both play really well off each other i just choked up and wasn't

07:45trying to do too much i was trying to get bad on ball and uh really just trying to put something in

07:50play because maybe i find a hole and you know didn't want to punch out again so and i was just able

07:54to put good wood on it so um you know he's he's a really tough pitcher also james franklin no longer

08:01head coach at penn state was fired yesterday after their loss to northwestern penn state looking for a

08:07new head coach next season
