00:00but let's get started with the national football league from last night couple of dud games as it

00:04turned out although the jets made this seem a little closer than it appeared they committed

00:0813 penalties against miami a very slow first half turned out to be a very high scoring second half

00:1527 to 21 the miami dolphins in the battle of two winless teams at 0 and 3 end up picking up their

00:22first win of the season and it was a very impressive performance by their offense which

00:28really hadn't shown much to date this year but to a tongue of iloa devon a chain of course performed

00:34perhaps the bigger story overall from this game may not be the result but what happened to tyreek hill

00:42wide receiver of the miami dolphins injured in this game is having surgery as we speak he is lost for

00:49the entire season due to a torn acl and some other issues as well again tyreek hill not going to play

00:56another game the remainder of the season may not play with the dolphins ever again we'll get to

01:01that story in the offseason first let's tackle last night mike mcdaniel talking about how important it

01:06was to finally pick up win number one yeah i mean no i think a lot i think we've gotten better and we had

01:14to you always have to um but it definitely has felt uh you know we've had we've had uh several instances

01:25of winning football winning football to me is complementary three-phase football where um sometimes

01:33uh the the momentum starts with a punt and that's what our team has to understand i didn't say anything

01:40to the guys i think it was one of those where collectively we knew you know we needed to step

01:45up in general um regardless of who's in you know we we feel as if the next next man up and we shouldn't

01:53lack the way we play the style of our play we shouldn't lack any of that so that was that was

01:58sort of the mantra or the mindset going into that after tyree got hurt another game of what ifs for the

02:05jets by the way as i mentioned 13 penalties and some very strange plays by some of their players

02:10putting them in bad positions it's not a tolerable thing right now for their head coach aaron glenn

02:16when it comes to the game today uh very disappointing i'm very disappointed and there's no way way you go in

02:25any game with 13 penalties and three turnovers it just can't happen um but what we have to do is go back

02:34to work you know we have to go that's the only way that we can fix and really take a look at these

02:38penalties take a look at these turnovers and make sure we understand that we have to understand

02:44before you can win games you have to learn how not to lose games and we have to do a better job

02:49in that case um and we will we will and again the only way to do that is go back to work um

02:56and that's what we got to do um it's just a tale of you know three out of our four losses you know

03:03teams will shoot ourselves in the foot then we come back and shoot ourselves in the head so

03:07um you can't win if you know um defensively if you know you can we are offensively if we're not

03:14um you know converting on third down if we're not getting us to third manageables you know we're in

03:20second and 25 second and 20 first and 15 like two monday night football games one of them as i

03:27mentioned jets dolphins the other one only one team showed up i'm gonna guess the ratings for the

03:32second half of this game were dismal broncos just destroyed the cincinnati bengals last night 28 to

03:38three game never ever in doubt broncos win cover that seven and a half point number uh broncos uh

03:45bo nix had a nice game at quarterback also getting some contributions from courtland sutton rj harvey they

03:50scored as well nothing on the side of cincinnati they got to be asking what they are going to do

03:54moving forward to quarterback i would guess but first let's hear from sean payton on the team win

04:00just a few things uh obviously um good team win in a lot of areas um

04:08but we did a lot of things well um we'll see the tape tomorrow i'm sure there'll be some things

04:14that we'll want to clean up the penalties still um bit us a few times but um it was one of those games

04:23were statistically in most of the categories um that leaned in our favor so one 500 plus yards just

04:31how much did it matter to get into a rhythm pretty early in the game and then sort of sustain it you

04:36know mostly throughout well it was important um you know i think just running the ball efficiently

04:42really helped uh we stayed out of third and long and um you know we were first down second out first

04:46down so um didn't have many i mean we had a few third downs uh but we really it wasn't a third down

04:52game we weren't just sitting in third down all day so uh that helps and then you know run the ball

04:56is uh is great for for the offense some light injury updates from the national football league on

05:03monday lamar jackson will clearly be questionable going into this week's game head coach john harbaugh

05:09with no update on lamar jackson's hamstring also namdi matabuke the defensive tackle on the ravens

05:15going to be lost for the season tampa bay says that bucky irving is also dealing with an injury

05:21their star running back is going to wait mri results as well yesterday the national basketball

05:27association had their media day around the league and naturally we're all waiting to hear from the

05:32los angeles clippers with this investigation going on about the clippers trying to circumvent the

05:38salary cap an allegation that's being invested by the nba and kawai leonard who is the center of

05:44this investigation said there was no wrongdoing oh i mean i mean it's easy for me i mean i'm

05:51gonna read headlines i do conspiracies theories or anything like that so um it's about the season

05:59and what's what we got ahead of us right now and um yeah tomorrow we'll start camp and see what we got

06:05do you have any uh reaction or statement regarding some of the things that have been

06:09alleged over the last month uh no i mean the nba is gonna do their job um none of us did no wrongdoing

06:16um and uh yeah i mean that's it um we invite the investigations it's not gonna be a uh distraction

06:25for me or the rest of the team and the preseason getting ready to kick off in the nba meanwhile some

06:31changes it managers yesterday in major league baseball maybe the biggest surprise of the day was

06:37seeing the parting of the ways with bruce bocce and the texas rangers bocce of course led the rangers

06:43to a world series championship a couple of years ago also rocco baldelli is out in minnesota the twins

06:51lost nearly 100 games this past season although baldelli had done a good job up until this point

06:57looks like baldelli will be looking for a new job and the twins will be looking for a new manager
