00:08Rolanda Garcia gives us the details.
00:14With fun activities, girls from various departments of the country belonging to the social organization coincide or commemorate International Day of the Girl.
00:22Celebrating and demanding. We are happy that it is Girls' Day, but we also want to demand because our rights are not being respected.
00:35Many girls have no voice. They have not been able to speak out for fear of being harmed, but we speak out for all of them.
00:42We want to fight for all the girls of Guatemala.
00:44They condemn neglect, child abuse, insecurity, and lack of access to basic services.
00:57Girls have been suffering from abuse, sexual assault, lack of resources.
01:02They don't have a proper education. Schools are literally falling apart.
01:05There is a lack of supplies in health centers, but that is why we are here to raise our voices.
01:14Insecurity has led to an increase in the constant disappearances of girls in the country.
01:24There are missing girls in our community who have been abducted, and we are not following up on these cases.
01:29What we want is to no longer live in fear here in Guatemala.
01:32The passage of laws on sexuality and the implementation of Internet networks in schools were highlighted among their main demands.
01:47So, what they are asking for is free Internet access to platforms so that children can log on and do their research so that they can do their homework better.
01:56They demanded full justice for the murder of the girls at the Virgin de Long Ascension safe home.
