00:00The lawyer representing the late P. Panir Selvam's family has questioned how police concluded that information shared by the Malaysian before his execution had no operational value to warrant further investigations.
00:15And Surendran pointed out that Deputy Home Minister Shamsul Anwar Nasara had said Malaysian police interviewed Panir for about four hours at Changi Prison in Singapore on September 27.
00:27Surendran questioned the extreme haste in closing the investigations and labelled the dismissal of Panir's information as the final nail in Panir's coffin as it eliminated any possibility of halting the Malaysian's execution on October 8 for smuggling 51.84 grams of diamorphine into Singapore in 2014.
00:49The day before Panir's execution, Shamsul said no new investigation was launched as police found no criminal links to the three individuals named by Panir and his family.
01:02He also said Singapore's courts had found drugs taped to Panir's leg and hidden in his motorcycle, showing that he was not just a courier.
01:11Surendran disputed the claim and accused Shamsul of misleading the Dewan Rakyat, saying the Singaporean court had in fact ruled that Panir was a mere courier in his judgement.
