ക്യാൻസർ രോഗികൾക്ക് കേരളത്തിലെവിടെയും ചികിത്സാ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി സൂപ്പർഫാസ്റ്റിലുൾപ്പടെ സൗജന്യ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാമെന്ന ചരിത്ര പ്രഖ്യാപനവുമായി മന്ത്രി കെ ബി ഗണേഷ് കുമാർ. റേഡിയേഷൻ, കീമോ തുടങ്ങിയ എന്ത് ആവശ്യത്തിനും പദ്ധതി ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്താം. സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രികളെ രോഗികൾക്കും പദ്ധതി സഹായകരണമാണെന്ന് മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. 2012ൽ സിറ്റി ബസ്, ഓർഡിനറി ബസുകൾക്ക് 50 ശതമാനമെന്ന ഓർഡർ ഇറക്കിയതിനാൽ ഈ പ്രഖ്യാപനത്തിന്റെ ക്രെഡിറ്റ് ഏറ്റെടുക്കാൻ യുഡിഎഫ് വരരുത്. ഇത് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന് ബാധകമായ പ്രഖ്യാപനമാണ്. ഓർഡിനറി മാത്രമല്ല; സൂപ്പർഫാസ്റ്റ് മുതൽ താഴേക്ക് ഏത് ബസിലും സമ്പൂർണ സൗജന്യമാണ് ഇതിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകത എന്ന് മനസിലാക്കണം. 2012ൽ ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടി സർക്കാർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതല്ലേ എന്ന് ചോദിക്കണ്ടെന്നും അന്ന് നാമമാത്രമായ സൗജന്യം മാത്രമായിരുന്നുവെന്നും മന്ത്രി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. | In a historic announcement, Minister K. B. Ganesh Kumar declared that cancer patients in Kerala can now travel free of cost, even on superfast buses, for treatment purposes. The scheme covers travel for any medical need, including radiation and chemotherapy. The minister stated that the initiative would also benefit patients receiving treatment at private hospitals. He added that the opposition UDF should not try to take credit for this move, as the 2012 order granting 50% fare concession applied only to city and ordinary buses. This new decision applies statewide, offering complete free travel not just on ordinary buses but on all services up to superfast class.
