00:00Previously on the block...
00:02Iceberg! Get ahead!
00:04It's Backyard Week, where a massive 6,000 square metres of landscaping needs to be finished.
00:11Being outside, it's a whole new playing field.
00:13Just the scale of this week is ginormous.
00:16I just don't know how we're going to pull it off.
00:17Em and Ben are under the pump.
00:19The cellar, that hasn't been touched. There's so much work in that.
00:22I need more labour.
00:23Anne and Can had a cabana clash.
00:25It's a lot of time and money, which neither of those we have.
00:28Candice has just snubbed the cabana and just said,
00:31What's the easiest thing to do? Paint it.
00:33I'm not doing what everyone else is doing.
00:36I will do what I want to do.
00:37The cabana is a cabana, and that is all it shall be.
00:41I love you, though. I hate you right now.
00:43Tonight.
00:44Now, we've been digging a bit more about this chimney.
00:47It's a lot worse than what we think.
00:49The fireplace is not compliant.
00:50We'll just pull the fireplace down.
00:52That's an option.
00:53From what I'm hearing, it's got to come off all this.
00:56Let's render.
00:57Yeah.
00:57Never, never, ever get it up.
01:00It's up to destroy the building.
01:02We're in all sorts here.
01:03But the big question is, will the tiles dry in time?
01:09He's saying it's not dry.
01:12Hasn't dried at all.
01:14You just need to calm down. Everything will be fine.
01:16I told you.
01:20Half walls, concrete everywhere, and it looks like a mess.
01:23I know there's a lot of work, but it's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
01:26We're going to wreck the whole garden.
01:28Are you serious?
01:28Like, we've just spent four days putting this in.
01:31Completely out of our debt.
01:32And now it's like, are we actually going to present a backyard?
01:35Oh, I just, oh, girl.
01:49Every now and then, we snag a couple that take to block life like a fish to water.
01:54A couple that wake up with a pep in their step and a smile on their doll.
02:00But backyard week, it has other plans.
02:05So how are you feeling about it all?
02:08Oh, stressed at this stage, yeah.
02:10Yeah, I'm feeling stressed.
02:11We didn't sleep well last night.
02:12I didn't sleep at all.
02:13It's because you're thinking about everything that needs to be done.
02:15I was up at three.
02:17I think we were just wildly under-resourced for this week.
02:21Well, we're building, like, essentially three rooms with the deck, cabana, and the cellar.
02:26It's like three rooms as well as the whole landscape.
02:28And this deck with the stairs, it's just a lot of cutting in landings.
02:33And so lots of things happening.
02:37House one have a huge $130,000 set aside, including the money they've saved.
02:42But landscaping mistakes can be expensive.
02:46Their original plan was to lay concrete between the back stairs and the pool.
02:50We pour this up Monday.
02:52Feels like a sea of concrete.
02:54We decided it wasn't going to work Tuesday.
02:57Well, actually, Dan decided it wasn't compliant.
03:01Their paving slab is way too steep.
03:03It's five times the limit it needs to be.
03:05So this may have to be ripped up.
03:07They pulled it up Wednesday.
03:09And that cost them thousands.
03:10Twenty to be exact.
03:15Today there's a new plan.
03:17That lawn held up by a retaining wall.
03:19Luke, you'll come and drill all these holes, do the retaining wall, which is good.
03:23Yeah, cool.
03:24That'll set today.
03:26Then we'll probably backfill later today, maybe tomorrow, once it's killed.
03:29I think you don't want to go too early.
03:31That's the worry, though, isn't it?
03:32So by today, you want the walls up, insulated, battened out.
03:38And then roughed in, electrical, and then plastered by today.
03:42So then tomorrow you just do the floors.
03:45Dan has come and spoken to us this morning.
03:48He's laid out what he reckons the schedule needs to be.
03:51So we should get close today to finishing the inside of that wine cellar so we can start
03:56tiling and putting walls up, joinery for Saturday.
04:00Is there a part of you that thinks, I'm never going to finish this?
04:03Yeah, yeah, we're still stressing about it.
04:04Every single part of me.
04:06We've never delivered anything like this before.
04:10We've never done a pool cabana.
04:11We've never built a cellar.
04:13We've never landscaped to this scale.
04:14Completely out of our depth.
04:18Yeah.
04:22Next door in house two, Han and Ken are worried about money.
04:26They've left themselves just 50 grand for the entire yard.
04:30That includes a huge fireplace area and lots of bespoke pavers.
04:35I'm just sick of stressing about money.
04:37I know.
04:38I'm sick of stressing about it.
04:39At this point, I'm like, whatever.
04:43It sucks.
04:43I just don't have a yard.
04:45Like, it's just ****.
04:48Yeah, budget-wise, we think we're in a really dire position.
04:51It's on your mind all the time.
04:52You're looking around and watching people work and you're seeing dollar figures flying
04:55everywhere, you're seeing materials come in.
04:56You're hearing, oh, we need this now.
04:58And you're like, ah!
05:00Then I wake up thinking about it, go to bed thinking about it.
05:04Like, money and numbers.
05:08Over it.
05:09I've got to get out of here before I implode.
05:13Two doors down, Sunny and Alicia are also thinking about their budget.
05:21I've allocated 50 grand for the backyards, but that is a bare minimum.
05:27There's no way you're doing it for 50 grand.
05:28So what's your budget?
05:31We'll probably spend $90,000.
05:32Yeah.
05:33And that 90 grand is going on a family-friendly yard with a bocce court, a massive arbor,
05:40seeding heaps of people and grass.
05:43Lots of grass.
05:44Whether you want to go and sit down on the grass and lay on the grass, or the kids can
05:49play out the back, or even if you don't have kids, it's just nice just to be able
05:52to walk around the yard.
05:55So what are you going to do today to keep on track?
05:58Today's the grass is going down.
06:00Yeah, parts of the grass will be going down.
06:02There's still more paving to do.
06:03There's concrete to pour.
06:05There's trees, a million to go in.
06:08There's heaps to do.
06:10Just a little girl with a big pot.
06:15We feel really good this morning.
06:17The guts of it is done.
06:19It's the finessing now.
06:20All the finishing touches.
06:21It's so relieving to be in that position, feeling good.
06:25And who wouldn't be with a 50 grand fireplace and a 50 grand pickleball court?
06:31So we have to prep for the pickleball court being installed.
06:35That pickleball court has been a storage yard, and you cannot see the concrete under it.
06:39It's been used as a thoroughfare, and we're getting to get that clean so the pickleball
06:44court can be installed.
06:47We made a deal.
06:48Rob was going to clean the pickleball court, and I was cleaning the pool.
06:52So I got out the pressure washer, and gave everyone a bit of a show.
07:08Scrub your floors, do your chores.
07:10Go, go, go.
07:11You're my hose.
07:13I'm having as much fun as I can now, because if you can't be cleaning the pool and your
07:17jocks, you can't be having much fun now.
07:21In house three, they're well ahead.
07:23They started work three weeks ago.
07:25And with a hundred grand to spend and help from high pages, they've gone all out on a PGH
07:31stone fireplace.
07:34Our plan is to walk out from your back doors through your afresco, and then to your left,
07:38you've got your seating area, which is what we designed, around a beautiful stone cladded fireplace
07:43that really stands out from the rest.
07:46Now, we've been thinking a bit more about this chimney.
07:50Yeah.
07:50It's a lot worse than what we think.
07:52Dan has rocked up and has said he's a bit concerned about our fireplace.
07:59The actual chimney needs to be 300mm above the roof line.
08:03That's 3.6 metres away.
08:06So wherever your back of your chimney is, wherever 3.6 away is from that, you've got to be 300mm
08:12above that ceiling, above the roof line.
08:16The fireplace is, the chimney needs to be a certain height relevant to the distance to
08:23the house.
08:24So if it's miles away from the house, it doesn't have to be as high.
08:27As the chimney is very close to the house, it needs to be built up past the height of
08:32the roof for it to be compliant.
08:34But the problem with that is the brickwork will be structurally unsound at that height.
08:40Worse than what we thought.
08:41Awesome.
08:41We can't build the chimney out of bricks that high.
08:47It's just not going to be structurally stable.
08:49It's going to be nearly two and a half metres.
08:51That is high, dude.
08:53Like, high.
08:55We'll just pull the fireplace down.
08:57That's an option.
08:59Oh, f***ing enough.
09:00I just, oh, go.
09:03Hmm.
09:04It's backyard week.
09:17And with four days to delivery, teams are in frenzy mode.
09:22Furthest behind is house two.
09:24They've just hit a snag with their pool tiles.
09:28Tiles around the pool edge are called gaping tiles.
09:31Unfortunately, Han and Cairns are 30 mils thicker than the rest of their pavers.
09:38So you've got a 30 mil to get the height.
09:40A problem picked up by Han's dad, Lee, who's lending a hand this week.
09:44Dad is a qualified builder, electrician, plumber.
09:48He's going to be working for minimum wage.
09:50In the budget situation we're in, it's just an extra pair of hands for us.
09:55And Dad's a massive problem solver.
09:58And he's taught me that there's nothing that can't be fixed.
10:03So that's what I'm saying 30 mils to, eh?
10:05I go after Curcio's.
10:07So now we have an issue around their pool.
10:09They've put their pool coper on, and it's really thick off the slab, about 30 mil.
10:13Now we've got a tile, we've got to bring that tile up level with that coper.
10:17How are we going to do that?
10:18What are we going to use?
10:19We're going to have to come up with a solution.
10:20And for solutions, enter the Curcio brothers.
10:24Can't we trowel glue, set, trowel glue again?
10:26We can, but it's going to cost them a lot of money on bags of glue.
10:29Can do that.
10:29Yeah.
10:30Can be done, of course.
10:31It can be, but they haven't got enough money to do it.
10:33Glue would probably do it, I reckon.
10:35That'd be...
10:35You're going to need more glue.
10:36Yeah.
10:36I'm just going to see if anyone's got open bags.
10:38Go see if you can buy some off the other houses.
10:40Good solution.
10:41We've liaised with the Curcio's 9 and 6 everyone, and they're going to have to get extra bags of glue.
10:46They're going to have to glue around the pool, let that set, and then they're going to have to glue again and then put the tile on top of it.
10:51So they're going to build up with glue over time.
10:53They haven't got time for this.
10:55They're out of money.
10:56It's going to cost them extra money for glue.
10:57This is just a big mistake.
10:59To get that glue, that means that I was running around like an idiot trying to find half bags at people's houses that they weren't using.
11:08Because I bought a heap of bags out the front that we're not using now.
11:12Come and have a look at these.
11:13Ben from house 1 gave us two bags.
11:17You can have all of that.
11:20Robbie and Matt did give me three quarters of a bag.
11:24You're welcome.
11:25Fun and games.
11:26The pool fencing is nearly done in all other houses.
11:31House 2, we haven't even started.
11:34How are you feeling about progress in the backyard?
11:38We got told that the pool fence had to be in tomorrow.
11:42We need the pavers down for that.
11:44We've only got one layer of the glue down.
11:46We need two layers minimum.
11:47So if we don't have the pool fence in, then we can't fill the pool tomorrow.
11:52We're just like nowhere near like where we should be.
11:58So, yeah.
12:04Six, eight weeks ago, Shade Spot came around and said,
12:06Hey, we're offering you a huge overhead shake-off for your pool area.
12:11And we went, hell yeah.
12:12Hey, boys, I wouldn't mind some shade here.
12:14Yeah, we're in Australia.
12:15The sun is hot.
12:17Sun is hot.
12:18And dangerous.
12:18Dangerous.
12:19It looks awesome, doesn't it?
12:21It's a lot of shade, mate.
12:22Oh, ask and you shall receive.
12:26You pulling down this side or you pulling down this side?
12:29So good.
12:30Because it will keep the concrete from turning into, you know, lava.
12:3565 square metres of shade.
12:37When you and I first spoke, you said that you wanted to think about the buyer of the house.
12:40Possibly being a family and wanted to actually spend their summers out here.
12:43So I can guarantee you this pool is going to get a hell of a lot more use over summer than the other houses.
12:48That's for damn sure.
12:50I think it's fantastic.
12:51No-brainer for us.
12:52Shade Spot, you've done it again.
12:55And then we get the big tree as well.
13:01Wow.
13:01That is insane.
13:09It is beautiful, mate.
13:11Great pick.
13:12That's a nice looking tree you got there.
13:15It's amazing.
13:16Another big deal on the block is the installation of the final sections of Modular Walls.
13:28And Dan's the perfect choice to tell us the benefits.
13:32Modular Walls, it's a true Australian innovation, engineered for simplicity, beauty and performance.
13:38Modular Walls are the perfect choice for premium finishes and acoustic attenuation.
13:42Is that a word?
13:46Modular Walls has been independently tested and rated by the National Acoustic...
13:49By the National Laboratory...
13:50By the National Laboratory...
13:52By the National Acoustic Laboratory.
13:55Delivering...
13:56Delivering a typical noise reduction of between 20 and 25 decibels.
14:02Modular Walls...
14:03I've lost it.
14:04That was creepy.
14:05I've lost it.
14:05Modular Walls complements a wide range of architectural styles, which is perfect across the five different
14:11houses on the block.
14:13Well, while you're on a roll...
14:15Once again, Kingspan Water Tanks are back on the block again this year.
14:18But this time, each house is not getting one, but two made-to-measure steel water tanks.
14:22Made from blue-scrobed aqua-plate steel in Django and Colourbond colours, these tanks really
14:27do match any home.
14:29Save money, save water, save the environment.
14:32Kingspan Water Tanks, taking water tanks to the next level.
14:36Right, back to the build.
14:39Over in House 3, they've got big chimney problems.
14:42This fireplace was, as per the very, very detailed architectural plans that were given.
14:47The fireplace...
14:48Week 3, these plans were given.
14:49Yeah.
14:50The fireplace was also built and finished last week.
14:53So we're all like, how has no-one noticed this till now?
14:56The issue we have in House 3 with their fireplace is that the chimney right now is way too low.
15:00It's actually got to be 300mm above the highest part of the roof.
15:06So where the ridgeline is, we've got to be 300mm above that with the chimney.
15:10Now this brings in structural elements too.
15:12How do we brace this chimney?
15:14So they've got options.
15:19They even put a flue in that's going to look like what they've already got on the roof.
15:24That's going to be very tall, very ugly.
15:27Or they knock it down.
15:29So the question is, do we get a flue made up somehow?
15:32Absolutely.
15:33Have to.
15:34Big flue.
15:36Yeah.
15:36And then we're going to have that flue brace back to the house.
15:43So now we're going to have to try and get another flue made up, which then we'll still have to brace it back to the roof line.
15:49This is massive for House 3, because this could play a big part in winning, and also a big part in winning at auction time.
15:56So I think if we could probably brick up to 300mm higher than the gutter, and then do the flue.
16:04Then it's like a two metre flue.
16:05We roll with that.
16:07You've got to remember, we've got to clad it still.
16:08Taz, I need you to find a flue.
16:12Art, there's another problem.
16:15The new flue has to connect to the fireplace by what's called a gather.
16:19To do that, the existing brick chimney has to come down.
16:23So the gather has to sit on top of that rollover.
16:27Exactly right.
16:28So then the bricks come down to the rollover, the gather goes on, the bricks go back up again.
16:35We called back the brickies and said, let's rip it down and start again.
16:40The fireplace was also built and finished last week.
16:43So we're all like, how has no one noticed this till now?
16:46Like, really?
16:47It's got to be done, but that's when the frustration came in.
16:51It's just like, we are so well poised to finish this.
16:54And now it's like, are we actually going to present a backyard, even though we were the most organised?
16:59And then the cladding.
17:01Oh, it's not finished, brick.
17:02Did that?
17:03Nah, it's PGH.
17:05In a day.
17:06PGH zone.
17:08The high pages, boys.
17:09Cladding that fireplace with the height that it was at is already a three-day job.
17:13And they were one and a half days through it.
17:16To now try, tear it all down, rebuild it, I don't even know how much time we're going to have for cladding it.
17:21Hmm.
17:22I can't get your break.
17:39We've been working on this backyard for so long.
17:41Back and forth to Troy with so much to put into it, so much of it has come together so well.
17:52And we just, um, just to hit a hurdle on a Thursday as big as this one is really, yeah, really testing me at the moment.
18:01Like, we can see the finished lawn, but it just keeps going further away from us.
18:20We won't stop, but it's just, yeah, getting to me a bit.
18:31We so love our pets.
18:39Don't we quiz?
18:40My camera roll is full of fashionable doggy pics.
18:44What about that one?
18:45No.
18:46I think that's my favourite.
18:48Now, I want to see your favourite.
18:50Showcase your dog's stylish side by uploading your most creative picture to nine.com.au, The Block.
18:57It could win you an amazing $25,000 cash from Simparica Trio.
19:03Make it great, because I'll be the judge.
19:14How is the retaining wall coming along?
19:18Yeah, the retaining wall's taken a lot longer than we hoped, so, yeah, we got crack and put
19:25the posts in so that sleepers could go in the next day.
19:29And as for the cellar...
19:31Half walls, concrete everywhere.
19:33Ours is still only a shell.
19:36And it looks like a mess.
19:37We need to deck it out with wines, gins and beer.
19:40But wine kind of fitting it out wasn't something we really considered.
19:47No.
19:49I'm just gathering quotes now.
19:51What are they coming in at?
19:52It'll probably be close to, like, 12 grand, probably 15 grand to fit it out.
19:56Yeah.
19:57We want to stock local wines of the region, and it just can't be cheap.
20:03No goon sacks.
20:04In House 2, Han is very proud of her not-so-secret weapon, Dad.
20:09I think, for me, I don't have my dad around.
20:12He's freaking incredible.
20:14There's nothing he can't do.
20:15I'll crack on back in here.
20:18And she's entrusted him with rendering the pool cabana.
20:24But there's one thing missing from Lee's block internship.
20:29So you want to go in and prank your dad?
20:31Yeah.
20:32I want to give him the full block experience.
20:34I'm remembering back to my first day where we had to pull down the ceiling
20:38after we'd done all that hard work.
20:46We don't squish our bats.
20:49We cut them.
20:50So that's got to come out and be done again.
20:52I think it's part of the block initiation, is foreman Dan tells you off and tells you
20:57to rip something down or take something out that you've done.
21:00We've basically rendered the cabana yesterday, and we came up with a plan that we were going
21:05to say that the primer he used was wrong, and he had to rip off all the render on the 3D cement.
21:12Hey, that primer you used, did you read the instructions?
21:16The primer?
21:16Yeah.
21:17Yeah.
21:17Because I don't think it's compatible with this.
21:20I was reading the other one, and I don't think it's compatible with this stuff.
21:24From what I'm hearing, it's got to come off all this.
21:27All this render?
21:28Yeah.
21:30How are we going to get it off now, though?
21:31How are you going to get it off?
21:33You'll never get it off.
21:35Never, never, ever get it off.
21:37You have to destroy the building.
21:39Yeah.
21:39It's definitely not coming off to a blanket, mate.
21:47That's not good.
21:48Wearing all sorts here.
21:51F***ing hell.
21:56How do you reckon we...
21:57Are you winding me up, you f***er?
22:01Mate.
22:01Mate, she said it too.
22:03She said...
22:04Come on, you're going to get it off.
22:06I thought, what am I going to do?
22:11This is f***ing my blanket.
22:13I couldn't even get it off myself.
22:15So I put the primer in the mix.
22:17I put the primer on the walls.
22:19He double-primed it.
22:20F***ing hell.
22:21This is...
22:21It's going nowhere.
22:25I hadn't said that, not me.
22:27You're in trouble.
22:30We wanted you to get the full block experience.
22:32A bit of a moment, then.
22:34That's 1-0.
22:351-0.
22:371-0.
22:37Yeah.
22:39Yeah, initiated now.
22:41Welcome to the block.
22:46Done.
22:47It's time.
22:52How'd you come?
22:57Oh, yes.
23:00Trading tricks time.
23:01Get in there, boys.
23:11Tim-tams.
23:12It's a beautiful day.
23:16Baby shower alert.
23:27It says baby shower alert.
23:27Woo!
23:28Double the fun for Emma and Ben and Steph and...
23:32Is Steph and Gianna around?
23:33Join us for high tea at Leonard Hill Estate from 4pm to 6pm.
23:38For some fun, last to celebrate the newest block, babies.
23:41See you there, Shelley.
23:42Yay!
23:42Oh, now I've got Shelley's number.
23:45I might text her on the weekend.
23:47I love a baby shower.
23:49Steph and Gianna and Emma and Ben, how special?
23:51Attending.
23:52Yes.
23:53No, thanks, Shelley.
23:54Can't wait.
23:55Bye.
23:56Shelley!
23:57Oh, that's awesome.
23:58Am I required to go?
23:59Oh, that's awesome.
24:00Oh, that's awesome.
24:01Am I required to go?
24:06What do we say, big baby shower?
24:09Raindrops on roses and brisks on kittens.
24:12Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.
24:15Brown paper packages tied up with springs.
24:18These are a few of my favourite things.
24:21What a surprise.
24:22With our mums and our friends.
24:24Oh, it was nice.
24:25And Steph and Gianna, it was lovely.
24:27Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes.
24:34Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes.
24:37Silver white winters that melt into springs.
24:40These are a few of my favourite things.
24:43Did everyone show up?
24:45No, not everyone did.
24:47The house too stayed on site.
24:50Must complete house.
24:52When the dog bites.
24:54When the bee stings.
24:56When I'm feeling sad.
24:58I simply remember my favourite things.
25:02And then I don't peel.
25:05Look, it's a busy week.
25:07But there's two weeks left on the block.
25:09And if you say no to going to something fun to celebrate life
25:13and being with all these fun people, having high tea and all the honest biscuits, you're an idiot.
25:19So bad.
25:20Now we know what you're having as far as the gender goes.
25:30You two.
25:31You've told us you're having a little baby boy.
25:33We are.
25:34You don't need to.
25:35You don't need to name it Scott.
25:39I just want to make that very clear to you.
25:41Thank God.
25:42It doesn't have to be Scotty.
25:43No.
25:44But as far as Jan and Steph are concerned, we don't know what the gender is.
25:49We don't know.
25:50We don't know yet.
25:51There was a gender reveal.
25:53Yeah.
25:54So there was a big black balloon sitting there.
25:56They are not aware of what they're having.
25:59No.
26:00Which is pretty cool.
26:01Taking guesses, taking bets.
26:02Boy.
26:03Boy.
26:04Boy.
26:05I reckon boy.
26:06Boy.
26:07Boy.
26:08Boy.
26:09Now there's something important to remember about Steph's colour preference.
26:14We wear beige.
26:15We wear white.
26:16We're tonal.
26:17Muted colours is what I'd say.
26:19One.
26:20Two.
26:21Three.
26:22Oh!
26:23It's a beige.
26:24It's a beige.
26:25It's a beige.
26:26It's a beige.
26:27Oh my God.
26:32Pop the balloon and what came out?
26:35Beige.
26:36Beige.
26:37Just a lot of beige.
26:38Like is that a boy?
26:39Is that a girl?
26:40Maybe it's a they them.
26:41I love it.
26:42There's a little block joke for us.
26:44I love it.
26:45Okay.
26:46Alright.
26:47Here we go.
26:48Let's do this for real.
26:49One.
26:50Two.
26:51Three.
26:52Go!
26:53I'm gonna be a girl dad.
26:54Oh my God.
26:55I'm gonna be more proud.
26:56I'm so excited.
26:57I always felt that it was a go.
27:10Now we need a pole dance.
27:11When does the pole dance happen?
27:12There was a pole dance as all baby showers should have.
27:13Can I have a lesson?
27:14Yes.
27:15We'll do a fireman spin.
27:16Okay.
27:17Yeah.
27:18So you're gonna have your inside arm up nice and high.
27:19Yeah.
27:20Outside arm across your tummy.
27:21You're gonna step back.
27:22One to the front.
27:23One to the back.
27:24And you spin around.
27:25Oh she's elegant.
27:26With a booty up.
27:27Let me tell you this.
27:28Ben is a very lucky man.
27:29Em is one hot little mix.
27:30Oh my.
27:31Emma is incredible.
27:32Oh my.
27:33Oh my.
27:34Climbing.
27:35And I'm like hey.
27:36You're pregnant.
27:37But like it didn't phase her.
27:38Yeah.
27:39Oh booty up.
27:40Booty up.
27:41Booty up.
27:42Booty up.
27:43Booty up.
27:44There's lots of poles across Adelaide that have had my name on it.
27:47Ah!
27:48Do I look sexy?
27:49Do I look sexy?
27:50Do I look sexy?
27:51Make sure you do the boxing.
27:52So sexy.
27:53Oh wow.
27:54No one knows who is the worst.
27:56Um.
27:57Um.
27:58Um.
27:59Um.
28:00Uh.
28:01Uh.
28:02Uh.
28:03Uh.
28:04Uh.
28:05Uh.
28:06Uh.
28:07Uh.
28:08Uh.
28:09Uh.
28:10Uh.
28:11Uh.
28:12Uh.
28:13Uh.
28:14Uh.
28:15Uh.
28:16Uh.
28:17It was.
28:18It was.
28:19It was.
28:20Yeah.
28:21Probably.
28:22It was pretty close.
28:23Everyone was really good at that.
28:24Oh, my God.
28:26Oh, my God.
28:27Oh, my God.
28:28Oh, my God.
28:29Oh, my God.
28:30Oh, my God.
28:31Ah.
28:32My God.
28:40Ha, ha, ha, ha.
28:44Finally, this big pickleball court that we somehow won many weeks ago is now being installed.
28:57All right, we're going to get this baby clean.
29:00The stream courts are about to come in.
29:02Just the size of it alone is huge because you could chuck a marquee on that.
29:07You could see a hundred people on that easily.
29:08Easily.
29:09You could have a wedding day.
29:10At house three, it's been fireplace up, fireplace down, fireplace up.
29:21Not great for backyard week nerves.
29:23I didn't get much sleep last night.
29:25Yeah, obviously just thinking about how important this backyard is and everything that we've
29:31put into it so far.
29:32We rocked back on our side and the chimney's fully bricked.
29:36Can't believe it.
29:39Amazing.
29:40It's just an incredible job.
29:41Like, I can't believe they got it finished last night.
29:45Yeah, it's still going to be a lot of work.
29:47Like, the detail of this cladding is huge.
29:49Like, they can only clad to about almost, I guess, halfway today because of the weight
29:53and then they'll clad the rest apart.
29:55It's going to be all hands on deck today.
29:57And that puts us in a spot today where we can have all the stonemasons come in.
30:01He's painting.
30:02Oh, that's beautiful.
30:03Just leave it like that.
30:04What, are you painting the rock side?
30:05Fantastic.
30:06No, you're going to be gluing the rock side.
30:07Oh my God.
30:08Oh my heroes.
30:09We've got the Curcio's coming in to help as well to try and get as much cladding as we
30:13can done.
30:15Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
30:16Leish spoke to the Curcio's and she knew the spot that we were in and the potential of
30:21us not finishing this week.
30:23So, it definitely felt good to have those guys come in and trying to help us.
30:27All the materials here?
30:28All the materials here?
30:29All the materials here?
30:30Yeah.
30:31All glue here.
30:32Stone here.
30:33Yeah, good.
30:34I'll be cutting stone all day too.
30:35At the start of the game, we sort of said, we want to win, but we don't want to win at
30:37all costs.
30:38You just want to play, play the game hard.
30:40But if you can help people, there's nothing wrong with helping people and we have helped
30:43people.
30:44I can still play hard and still help.
30:46Get paint on it.
30:47It's going to dry and then we'll be here in the Arvo and we'll get cracking.
30:53Did you possibly pull this off?
30:55Oh, I don't know.
30:56That cladding is days and days of work and we're going to get some rain today, so...
31:01It's a four day job and we've got two days to do it.
31:06So, with the fireplace...
31:08Yeah.
31:09I can't get Tommy here until Sunday morning.
31:12Yeah.
31:13To fit off the rest of the flue.
31:14Yeah.
31:15So, what he needs is a scaffold set up for him, ready for him to quickly install this,
31:20hopefully within an hour.
31:21Yeah.
31:22And then we'll have to drop the scap just before reveal.
31:25Yeah.
31:26You're stressing about the flue.
31:32Next door in house two, their fireplace, deck and pool tiles are looking good.
31:37Yeah, it's all good.
31:40They've even got a little bit of turf lane, so you'd think they'd be feeling better.
31:50Okay.
31:51How are we feeling today and why?
31:54Yeah.
31:55Well, obviously she's not feeling great.
31:57You're feeling stressed again.
31:59Oh, yeah.
32:00And you're biting me.
32:01You're really biting you.
32:03You just need to calm down.
32:05Everything will be fine.
32:06I told you.
32:13Can.
32:16Yeah.
32:17Our plan for the cellar, again, it's so loose because this cellar still doesn't look like it's going to get delivered.
32:26We're running out of time to put tiles down.
32:28Yeah.
32:29And our tiler can't tile.
32:31He's busy this weekend.
32:37Hello.
32:38Adrian, it's Ben and Em here from house one.
32:40How are you doing?
32:41Good, mate.
32:42How are you?
32:43What are your chances of getting up here this afternoon?
32:46Um.
32:47Zero chance.
32:48Again tomorrow.
32:49Yeah.
32:50Once I get this rock wall done.
32:51Yeah.
32:52I'm happy to help you do it.
32:53Yeah.
32:54Possibly a couple of us can come for an hour or so.
32:56Yeah.
32:57And smash out an hour of power.
32:58Yeah.
32:59And we might get you a good start.
33:01Yeah.
33:02It's risky because we don't really have the money just to blow on tiles and not use it.
33:07We're really banking on the boys.
33:09So, let's just see.
33:11And that's just one thing of many.
33:14Well, we've got some concreting to do.
33:16We've got some gardening to do.
33:19Painting to do.
33:21Salah is so far off.
33:24And pool cabana, the shell's there.
33:28No sauna in place or anything.
33:34Well, this is organised chaos.
33:37Woohoo.
33:38Landscape week.
33:39Here we come.
33:40Come here.
33:41Come here.
33:42Come here.
33:43Don't get run over.
33:44That'd be terrible.
33:46Hello, Shayna.
33:47Hi.
33:48I'm so excited you're joining Shelley and I for walk around.
33:52I can't wait.
33:53I don't get to do this.
33:54It's amazing.
33:55It's so good.
33:56But I actually have a present for Frankie from Phoenix and I.
33:57What?
33:58Really?
33:59Yep.
34:00Have a look at this Frankie.
34:01Oh, she's loving it already.
34:02Let me get Phoenix out.
34:03Adio.
34:04Come on, little girl.
34:05Here we go.
34:06Oh.
34:07Shona, you've got top shelf on the product here.
34:08Beautiful.
34:09Nothing but the best for Frankie from Simparica and I thought she would love everything in
34:22here.
34:23I reckon she will love everything in here.
34:24There you go.
34:25She's off straight away.
34:26Right.
34:27Shell's on her way.
34:28Yeah.
34:29We've got a whole bunch of things happening today.
34:30It's exciting that you're walking around with us.
34:31I can't believe the chaos.
34:32I never get to see this.
34:33I know.
34:34I'm loving it.
34:35Yeah, come on.
34:36There's been 200 people on site.
34:37I think Phoenix needs to have a play date with Frankie.
34:42Oh, thank goodness.
34:47Thank goodness.
34:48I cannot be on a sloping ground.
34:51I cannot be on an angle.
34:53Well, we did this just for you, Scotty.
34:55Yep, the skateboard ramp is gone.
34:57Replaced by a retaining wall and turf.
35:00Surrounded by curb-native garden beds.
35:02It's like a performance area.
35:03Isn't it?
35:04The fact that people can just sit there on different levels of seating.
35:07By the way, sorry to interrupt.
35:08Shana Blaze is on walk around.
35:09Hello, Shana.
35:10Welcome, Shana.
35:11Scotty, Shelley and Shana popped in this week for walk-arounds.
35:15It's a very usable set of stairs coming down.
35:18Yeah, it is.
35:19It'll be great.
35:20They've got their wine cellar going in.
35:21Is that coming along well?
35:22We do.
35:23We do have our secret weapon wine cellar.
35:25What's your plan for the layout in here?
35:27We've got wine racking on the back wall and the right wall,
35:30and then we'll just put a little table with some stools around it.
35:34But a couple wine barrels.
35:35Yeah.
35:36And that would be perfect,
35:37because we do have a lot of local wineries.
35:39Could get a wine barrel.
35:40She says again.
35:41Again.
35:42It's been in your face back.
35:43Yeah, we've just had a delivery from Hanging Rock.
35:45Hanging Rock and we've got passing clouds.
35:47Yes, you guys listen.
35:48Yeah.
35:49Fabulous.
35:50Okay, and then we've got our Contour 3D Cabana happening here by the pool.
35:53What's going in here?
35:54We've got our sauna that we won.
35:56Yes!
35:57That's going to go in there.
35:58Steam Saunas in Australia.
35:59Yeah, it'll be built in.
36:00Yeah.
36:01And what's in that middle area there?
36:03I've got a beautiful Bromley going in the middle,
36:05with two big armchairs and a pendant.
36:07And we've got a fridge, but we're not sure, like a little mini bar fridge,
36:11but we'll see where that fits.
36:12Yeah.
36:13See, I'd have a big bloody telly on the wall.
36:15You can stand out here and watch the cricket.
36:17Shelley and Scotty normally just have a chit-chat, have a yarn.
36:20Yeah.
36:21But Shana was with them, so she was dropping a few too many hints.
36:25She was pretty direct with what we should do and what we shouldn't do.
36:28The fact you've got a sauna inside and you're going to have a seating area,
36:32to me that could be a wellness sanctuary.
36:34Yeah.
36:35I know you want to go cricket and beers, but you've got your wine cellar there.
36:38No, no, Shana, everybody wants to do cricket and beers.
36:40The whole of Australia.
36:41No.
36:42No, they don't.
36:43Wellness is out.
36:44Wellness is out.
36:45Look, you agree with me, don't you?
36:47Yes, you do.
36:48Just put a different perspective on there, because I would actually have a bench seat.
36:52I wouldn't have chairs.
36:53So you could get half a dozen people in there.
36:55Yeah, okay.
36:56I do have some bench seats that I could pop in there.
36:58Yeah, that's a good idea.
36:59I think we've given way too much information here.
37:02We need to move on.
37:03I mean, we always take on the judges' feedback after the fact, but to take on the judges' feedback
37:08before, it's good, because it gives us a little head start.
37:15Hello, girls.
37:16Hello.
37:17So you're feeling zen, ladies?
37:18Oh, maybe a little too zen.
37:20Yeah.
37:21You look like you could fall asleep.
37:22Probably not in a good way.
37:25Shana came with Scotty and Shelley today, which was a huge surprise.
37:31She said I look tired and not in a good way, and I felt extremely self-conscious following
37:36that.
37:37But yes, Shana, you're right.
37:38I am tired.
37:40Okay.
37:41I love the pavers here.
37:42Yeah.
37:44What was the inspiration for going Japanese?
37:46Um, Ken and I just love, like, Japanese zen gardens.
37:50Like, we wanted to do, like, the full onsen sort of thing, because being a wellness capital,
37:56I guess, of Victoria, that's what we wanted to focus on.
37:58Five identical homes with the plunges and the cabanas.
38:01So we were like, well, what's the point of difference?
38:03And for us, it's that Japanese influence.
38:05But where we've had to rein it back is obviously budget at house two.
38:08We've had so many money issues.
38:09You've had some troubles, haven't you?
38:11And in Cairns, Japan on a Budget Backyard, we'll feature sandstone paving everywhere.
38:16A circular brick fireplace area and two classic Japanese torii gates.
38:21Maybe revisit a couple of little styling things in the house that matches, because I go in that house
38:27and I don't think one thing Japanese.
38:30And when somebody's in a space, they want to feel that flow.
38:33Yeah.
38:34So I feel like just a little bit of Japanese styling to connect to this would be so important to people to get,
38:39oh, we're Japanese.
38:40Our garage is Tokyo Drift.
38:42We've got the Fast and Furious.
38:44Yeah, that's not anime.
38:45And I don't know if you've noticed this.
38:47There's a beautiful round open fire.
38:49I feel that that's got a Japanese feel to it as well.
38:52Shane, I don't know if you know about these, but this is a hot cold plunge.
38:56Oh, I didn't know that.
38:57So you could run it as a spa, as a hot bath, or you can take the temperature right down to about 10 degrees, I believe, for a cold plunge.
39:04Wow.
39:05So if you're talking wellness, you can do either, either, or.
39:07Yes.
39:08That's perfect.
39:09And depending on what you've got going on in your contour 3D cabana, what's happening in there?
39:13Any more wellness in there?
39:14I mean, it's just a relaxation.
39:16We could sofa areas.
39:18Girls, you've had a really tough week this week.
39:22And when you get to that low point, who are you going to call?
39:26Daddy.
39:27Daddy.
39:28Where is Lee?
39:29He's in the cabana.
39:30Lee.
39:31Come on, mate.
39:32Hello.
39:33Oh, happy days.
39:34Saving the day from WA.
39:36He was so excited.
39:39This is my third day.
39:41It's been really, really hectic.
39:43Three days and I'm absolutely gone.
39:45Yeah.
39:46Imagine the girls, like, three months in this.
39:48Yeah.
39:49Great bloody effort by them.
39:50Good on you.
39:51Bye-bye.
39:52Thanks, guys.
39:53Energy, stop worrying about budget.
39:56I will if you're giving me a donation.
39:59Keep going.
40:00Keep going, Dad.
40:13It's walk around time.
40:15And this week, there's a special guest.
40:21Very nervous about an actual judge coming through.
40:24Yeah, wow.
40:25Are you ready?
40:26She's not allowed to give you any advice.
40:28I've been trying to stop her, but she's telling everybody what to do.
40:31Don't listen to him.
40:32I'll take it.
40:33Don't listen to him.
40:34Do these guys need much advice on how to bring the outside in or the inside out?
40:38I have to say, and I'm sure the feedback's come through, that every time I walk into one
40:41of your rooms, you steal my heart.
40:43Whether you get it right or wrong, you steal my heart.
40:45You know how to create something that invokes an emotion and this is incredible.
40:50What do you think of this?
40:51Yeah.
40:52Britt and Taz have a lot going on, including a fireplace area, a huge dry course riverbed,
40:58and paths everywhere.
40:59And I love this.
41:00It's like, which way should we go?
41:01Are we heading down?
41:02Yeah.
41:03Where are we heading?
41:04That is so inviting.
41:05We'll go this way.
41:06To the wellness area.
41:07This is the wellness area.
41:08Yeah.
41:09Based a lot of our backyard around.
41:10Wow.
41:11Yeah.
41:12Well, you had this thought from day one, didn't you?
41:15Yes.
41:16And it was that idea of when you were doing this rumpus room, was it going to be a rumpus?
41:20Was it going to be a media room?
41:21Do we make a second playroom?
41:22Yeah.
41:23And it's still contentious, isn't it?
41:25It's beyond contentious.
41:26The fact you don't have two living spaces undercover inside is a big issue.
41:32I don't care.
41:33Scotty won't hate me.
41:35But one difference would be just to take one of those machines out and put a lounge in
41:41there.
41:42Because people can't imagine.
41:43You have to speak it out to them.
41:45How crazy would it be, though, for you and I, girls weekend, up here, doing our workouts,
41:50our pilates, coming out here straight into the sauna, straight into the ice bath, then
41:55into your hot or cold plunge.
41:57She just wants to have a girls weekend at our house, I think.
42:00And the fact that you've gone with the protector, the glass, because I know that they do aluminium,
42:05they do all sorts of fencing, but the glass, again, just leads to the endless flow,
42:09doesn't it?
42:10You can sit up on your deck and you can see through to your grass.
42:12And you've made room for sun lounges inside the pool area.
42:15I like that.
42:16True nice big sun lounges.
42:17You've got two.
42:18And umbrellas as well.
42:19Nice big umbrellas.
42:20I want to look at that creek bed because I reckon kids are going to love that.
42:23Absolutely.
42:24It's amazing.
42:25Let's come have a look.
42:26This is a whole world for kids.
42:28Isn't it, Charles?
42:29It's amazing.
42:30It's like a little fairy land in there for them.
42:32Yeah, I agree.
42:33And pouring rain would be fun.
42:35Yeah.
42:36No, landscaping for us, we said from the start, was the most important thing.
42:39Kitchen and landscapes.
42:40You can really tell what you've done, how established it is.
42:42Like, I feel like it's so close to being finished.
42:45I can't even imagine what you're going to do in the next two days.
42:47Well, Shana, I spoke to Troy earlier, a couple of minutes ago, and he said he's going to
42:52be finished today.
42:53Besides the fireplace.
42:54This backyard will be hopefully finished today.
42:56That fireplace is really going to be down to the minute.
42:58Be down to the minute.
42:59Down to the minute.
43:05Hello.
43:06Scotty.
43:07This is good.
43:08It'll be better with water.
43:09Yes.
43:10At the moment it's called a hole.
43:11Sure.
43:12A watering hole.
43:13A big hole.
43:14That's pretty.
43:15The tiles around the edge are gorgeous.
43:16Yeah.
43:17I love them.
43:18With the water in that, it should be like a sparkling green is what we wanted.
43:21Yes.
43:22Rather than a blue pool.
43:23Along with that sparkling, plungy pool, their family-friendly yard will include a bocce court,
43:28lots of lawn, and a very generous seating area.
43:31We've gone with a different fence.
43:32Yep.
43:33Yes.
43:34But this greenery is going to...
43:35Grow it out.
43:36Grow it out.
43:37Looking at the arbour here, is this Wombat Park inspiration from our long lunch?
43:40Absolutely.
43:41How good is it?
43:42It's beautiful.
43:43The expo was absolutely from Wombat Park.
43:45We absolutely loved that.
43:46A couple of big tables underneath there and plenty of seating.
43:48Yeah.
43:49And you're going to have seating for like 14 people?
43:50No, no, no.
43:51Like 30.
43:5230?
43:53Yep.
43:54And you can have all your friends over.
43:55You could maybe host a wedding reception.
43:56This will be all grass back here, whether you get married back down here and have your
44:00reception here or who knows.
44:02Tell me about your Contour 3D or can we have a look?
44:05We've built our house the whole time and that's with a family like us in mind.
44:12You know what I mean?
44:13You can bring your family at Christmas time and have everybody stay.
44:15Yeah.
44:16There's more than enough room.
44:17So how does this work?
44:18Well, this is a toilet.
44:19Yeah.
44:20So that's a private room.
44:21You probably have to put a...
44:23That's frosting.
44:24We're going to have Graphico on there just fluted on the door.
44:27Oh, yeah.
44:28Yeah.
44:29And then your basin's going in there.
44:30Basin.
44:31I have a pedestal basin.
44:32A pedestal basin with a big mirror in there.
44:33Yeah, we're hanging a TV from the ceiling in here.
44:35A little TV.
44:36I'm making you happy.
44:37We have a futon at the end and this will be a kitchenette in here.
44:41So just a little bit self-container if the kids are having a little sleepover and you
44:44want to put them out in the backyard.
44:46It's a beautiful home you've created.
44:48And this blends perfectly.
44:49I think that's a great thing that your indoor-outdoor blends perfectly.
44:52Thanks, Shayna.
44:53So that's great.
44:54It's so nice to actually see you in person, hear it from you.
44:56Then not just Scotty on a Sunday night.
44:58Because he has his own little...
45:00I'm just a messenger.
45:02We haven't shot you yet.
45:03You'd want it to.
45:04Good luck.
45:05Thanks, Shayna.
45:10Hello, boys.
45:11G'day, g'day.
45:12G'day, everyone.
45:13How are you?
45:14Good to see you.
45:15Good to see you.
45:16This is a treat.
45:17It's my very first walk around ever.
45:19Oh, wow.
45:20So yeah, my treat as well.
45:21Shayna blaze.
45:22Into the backyard.
45:23I'm really loving this Trends fireplace, 50 grams worth.
45:27Weighs seven tonne or something, doesn't it?
45:29Seven and a half tonne.
45:30Seven and a half tonne.
45:31But I like how you finish it with the logs.
45:32You see, that finishes the whole thing off.
45:34Yeah, no one's allowed to touch those logs.
45:35No.
45:36Robbie and Matt's yard has something for everyone.
45:39An impressive fireplace.
45:40Plenty of grass for activities.
45:42The pickleball court.
45:43And a relaxing spot by the bottle tree.
45:47Just going to ask, what was the goal?
45:49Like, who are the people you imagine meandering through here?
45:52Well, everyone.
45:53Everyone.
45:54But the thing we wanted to really incorporate was lots of grass still.
45:58So that way, you know, room for activities, kids, families,
46:03you know, little pockets where you could go sit and explore.
46:06It's interesting, though, because you do have a lot of stuff.
46:08You've got the Trends fireplace.
46:10You've got the Dream Court pickleball over the back there.
46:13The beautiful bottle tree there is just extraordinary.
46:16Yeah, it's a rip out.
46:17But I did think when it was on paper, it looked like it was going to be super busy.
46:20You've got the Steam Sauna.
46:22Where's it going?
46:23Inside the Cabana.
46:24Steam Saunas Australia tucking in there.
46:25This beautiful shade cloth.
46:27Yeah, shade spot.
46:28Shade spot.
46:29They have done such an exceptional job.
46:31What are you thinking here?
46:32What's happening here?
46:33So here's going to be where the outdoor lounge is.
46:35So there's a three-seater here and a three-seater there.
46:38Coffee table in the middle here.
46:40Around the fire.
46:41Beautiful.
46:42This is going to be such a great space for a winter's night.
46:45But this will be just as usable in summer when you don't have the fire.
46:48100% because you cook the shell with this.
46:50This hooks on there.
46:51Swing it in and cook.
46:52Amazing.
46:53This has all come together now.
46:55You're standing in your backyard and you're looking pretty close to done.
46:58We should be done by today, I think.
47:00Well, you know, I haven't seen any sculpture.
47:02That is coming tomorrow.
47:04Boys, congratulations on your house and now congratulations on your backyard.
47:08You're going to be finished today.
47:09That's incredible.
47:10That is.
47:11You're going to be finished on Friday.
47:12I don't think that's ever happened.
47:13I expect perfection on Sunday then.
47:16Perfection.
47:17If you're finishing today.
47:18We went with the kiss approach.
47:20Keep it simple, Shayna.
47:22Now for one of my favourite parts of the week.
47:27A hand count.
47:29Lee, have you got a sec?
47:31Yeah.
47:32Come on out.
47:33Lee, you wouldn't be aware of this, mate, but I give away the hardest work reward from Bunnings
47:37each week.
47:38This week, the hardest work reward goes to Lee.
47:42Yeah!
47:43You get to choose five plants from the Bunnings Nursery the size of Shayna.
47:50Well, basically around the top of your head.
47:52Well done.
47:53Thanks, Scotty.
47:54Great job here.
47:55Pleasure.
47:56Fantastic.
47:58All the best.
47:59Thanks, Scotty.
48:00Yay!
48:01You got us plans!
48:02Yay!
48:03Dad took our hardest worker of the week, so we got five plants.
48:08And he's only been here two days.
48:11I'm just checking on Google Lens what these are because I have no idea.
48:17Can is the plant person in our partnership.
48:21But Google Lens tells me this is a Japanese maple, so I'll have that one.
48:25Alright, how many have I got left?
48:27My mouth is not mouthing.
48:29I have done.
48:30Here we go.
48:31I have three days in this insane asylum and I've got no reward.
48:38No one.
48:39Work harder.
48:40Work harder, he says.
48:46Ah!
48:47Ah!
48:48It's kind of cool.
48:49All sit starts to come together now.
49:03How are you feeling about the backyard?
49:04Yeah, like anxious.
49:05We are not ready for the pool.
49:06Everyone's obviously got their pool fences in and the yards are coming together.
49:22I think ours is probably the furthest behind.
49:25Grass angel.
49:28It's not looking good.
49:29We haven't done the exterior perimeter of the tiles so that they can put their holes into it.
49:37Major, major problem.
49:38What's that?
49:39Pool fences aren't coming back tomorrow.
49:41Right.
49:42So we have to core hole today somehow to have any chance of getting water in here.
49:46Right.
49:47We need to get the pool fencing in, but we need these outer tiles down ASAP so before
49:52they go home tonight, the pool fencing guys, they can do the spigots for us.
49:56And then nine and six will probably have to come and put all the pool glass in.
50:01We need to get in a mad frantic rush to get this done today.
50:05Hey, why aren't we tiling?
50:08Tile, tile, tile.
50:09Out here.
50:10So who do you call when you're having a tile problem?
50:13Cursey girls.
50:15Hiya.
50:17We're struggling.
50:18Yeah, I need your help.
50:19Struggling?
50:20What we need is, we need to try and get this outside border in today.
50:24Okay.
50:25And tonight, and that end.
50:26Adrian came to the rescue.
50:28I'm just here giving him a hand for one hour.
50:30That's all I've got.
50:31One hour.
50:32So an hour of power, we're going to try and get this done.
50:34So you can get the glass in for him.
50:37And then everyone will be happy, hopefully.
50:39Mate.
50:40You out.
50:41Let's go.
50:42Come on.
50:43I need someone to clean these joints.
50:44Put the clips here.
50:45Yep.
50:46And we smashed out collectively, like 90% of them.
50:52Oi, Lorraine!
50:54Get .
50:56But then the rain came.
50:59Lorraine's here.
51:00Beautiful.
51:01Lorraine?
51:02Who's Lorraine?
51:03Get her on the tools.
51:04And now it's officially landscaping week.
51:06Seems it never rains in Southern California.
51:13Our pool is getting filled.
51:15Right now.
51:16And I've often heard that kind of stuff before.
51:19Free water!
51:20Free water!
51:21Free water!
51:22Free water!
51:23Free water!
51:24All rains in California!
51:27But I think we've got more important things to worry about right now, right?
51:30Man, I reckon it's drier in the pool than what it is here.
51:33Oh!
51:34Manny pool!
51:36Just a passing shower.
51:37But the big question is, will the tiles dry in time?
51:42It's supposed to dry in four hours, but...
51:45Hey!
51:46Hasn't dried at all.
51:49We gotta get away from here.
51:53We gotta get away from here.
51:56We gotta get away from here.
51:57The pool fencing guy's standing around scratching his head going, they're not bad
52:01be ready.
52:02Huh?
52:03He's saying it's not dry.
52:10Do you know what, guys?
52:11About two hours ago, it wasn't going to happen.
52:15He's worked so hard ringing everyone around.
52:18I've got someone coming here at 12 o'clock tomorrow.
52:20He's got someone coming at midday tomorrow now.
52:22Thanks, man. That's awesome.
52:25Yeah, we're stoked because we just thought
52:28we weren't going to get a pool fence.
52:31Yeah, hopefully we can get it together for midday tomorrow
52:35and, yeah, get some water in the pool.
52:38So, yeah, we were grateful for that
52:40because we thought that we weren't going to have a fence.
52:43Beautiful.
52:44OK, we can all breathe?
52:45Yeah.
52:46For a minute?
52:47Yeah.
52:48And then tackle the next hurdle.
52:50Meanwhile, big news for the boys in House Five.
52:53I've been touching base with Tom Panos over the last 11 weeks.
52:57Obviously, I want him to be our auctioneer.
53:00Tom Panos has successfully earned three previous block clients
53:04millions of dollars in cash.
53:06And two of those teams went on to win the block.
53:09The new winner of the block...
53:111.65 million profit.
53:14Hello, Rob.
53:18I had a good phone call just then.
53:20Yes?
53:21Spoke to the Tom Panos.
53:23And...?
53:25Yeah, we're locked in, mate.
53:27Mate, this is a game-changer.
53:30Oh, it's huge.
53:31He's the auctioneer's auctioneer.
53:33I am so, so, so happy that he's going to be selling our house on auction day.
53:38I love you so much, mate.
53:40You are incredible.
53:41Thank you for organising that.
53:43Amazing, mate.
53:44Well, happy shopping.
53:46Yes.
53:47We got the icing on the cake this week and locked in Tom Panos to be our auctioneer on auction day.
53:53Which is the cherry on top for Matt and I.
53:55Go on, stop it.
53:56Bye.
53:57We can no longer see the house falls back out.
54:10They're good, Sam.
54:12Look out.
54:13How are we going?
54:15In house one, their pool fence is in the house.
54:18It's in the house.
54:20It's in the house.
54:21It's in the house.
54:22It's in the house.
54:23In house one, their pool fence is a go.
54:29Let's get some water in, eh?
54:30Yeah.
54:31Let's fill her up.
54:35But their landscaper Colin is back and he's reassessed their retaining wall.
54:40We've got the retaining wall in and Colin said to me,
54:43I really want to get rid of this retaining wall.
54:47And I was like, I think we've got to keep it.
54:50I just, with all the work that went into it.
54:53Are you serious?
54:54Like we've just spent four days putting this in.
54:57And he was deadly serious.
54:59Yeah.
55:00I know there's a lot of work, but it's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
55:04It's like we've got suburbia in the middle of Daylesford now.
55:07It's such a beautiful, soft landscape.
55:09But to have that clunkily revolting retaining wall there is really not the go.
55:13It's just what are we going to do with this retaining wall?
55:16Sunday night.
55:17Step right up, step right up.
55:18The greatest show on earth.
55:19The backyard reveal looming.
55:20Do you reckon we're going to get it done?
55:21Define done.
55:22The pressure to finish is off the charts.
55:23A lot to do.
55:24A lot to do?
55:25Yeah.
55:26Go next door.
55:27That's a lot to do.
55:28And when it's judgement time.
55:29Look at this man.
55:30Look at this man.
55:31Oh!
55:32Look at this man'sí.
55:33Oh, no.
55:34That's a lot to do?
55:36That's a lot to do.
55:37That's a lot.
55:38And when it's judgement time.
55:40Oh!
55:41Look at this man.
