00:09Edinburgh's South Sub-Tram Train Plan gets enthusiastic response at public meeting.
00:14Campaigners for the reopening of Edinburgh's South Suburban Railway say a public meeting showed strong support for their plan to run tram trains on the line and link it to the city's tram system.
00:24Tram trains, which can run on both tram tracks or rail lines, are already used elsewhere in the UK, including Sheffield.
00:30The group said they offer the key to reopening the South Sub to regular passenger services for the first time in more than 60 years.

00:44A man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences following a three-vehicle crash on the Edinburgh City Bypass.
00:50The incident happened eastbound between Beberton and Dreghorn, shortly after 7am on Wednesday, October 8th.
00:57Two people were taken to hospital following the incident.

01:08The organisers of Edinburgh Oktoberfest have announced they were forced to destroy 7,000 litres of good beer and thousands of bratwurst and schnitzel.
01:16After this year's event was cancelled due to Storm Amy.
01:20The annual beer festival in Prince's Street Gardens was set to get underway on Friday, October 3rd,
01:25but was cancelled owing to strong winds and safety concerns.
01:29Oktoberfest was also cancelled the following day.
01:32Organisers had suggested postponing the event until the end of the month,
01:35but later announced ticket holders will be able to roll over their tickets to next year.
